Shantanu passes away after handing over his two sons Chitrangada n Vichitravir to Bheeshm . Satyavati grieved his demise .
Bheeshm declared Chitrangad the heir to the throne . Soon he was coronated King .. but sadly he could not rule for long as he was killed by a Gandharv named Chitrangad .
Bheeshm then made Vichitravir as the next king with great pomp n ceremony .Mata Satyavati asks Bheeshm to attend swayamvar of Amba Ambika, Ambalika ..daughters of Kashi Naresh n win the girls n get Vichitravir Vir married .He waits for the invitation .
at Kashi ... Kashi Naresh is preparing for swayamvar of his three daughters . He desires all kings be invited for swayamvar, except Hastinapur . Kashinaresh asks His mantri not to send invitation to Hastinapur because he was going to take revenge from Bheeshm for rejecting the marriage proposal of his sister . Now was time to avange that insult states Kashi Naresh .
At Hastinapur Bheeshm is curious at this insult at the hands of Kashi Naresh . Kashinaresh should remember that Hastinapur can’t be ignored they belongs to Chandra Vanshi Dynasty n had Bharat n Gautam as ancestors .
At Kashi the swayamvar begins , Shalva Naresh also arrives ..a Ba smiles at him as he enters n takes his seat .
Bheeshm arrives at the swayamvar n he is ridiculed for arriving uninvited . He states for years Kashi rajkumaries have been wedded to Chandra Vanshi dynasty ,.Kashi Naresh had insulted Hastinapur by arranging g swayamvar for his daughters ...Shalva Raj interrupts n states Princesses had the right to select their own husbands . Bheeshm reprimands Shalva Naresh for daring to come to this swayamvar n then confronting Bheeshm ... he had forgotten that he was living because of Bheeshm’s mercy .
Shalva confronts Bheeshm to fight him .Bheshm declares he had given back Shalva Raj his life some yrs back he could not take away his life now .. he defeats Shalva Raj n takes the three princesses to Hastinapur n hands over Satyavati her three DILs
Amba requests Raj Mata Satyavati to let her go as she had accepted Shalva Naresh as her husband before a Bheeshm had arrived . Bheeshm then sends off Amba with due respect to Shalva Raj .
On meeting Shalva Raj she professes her love for him n her desire to marry him n praises Bheeshm for letting her come here . Shalva states that Bheeshm had won her at swayamvar ...and also lost at war against Bheeshm ...it was against the rules of shatriya dharm to accept what one had lost . Also states Bheeshm had insulted Shalva n Amba both by sending her here . Amba then is heart broken n rushes back to Bheeshm . She asks Bheeshm to marry her as Shalva has refused to accept Amba as charity from his victor .bheeshm argues he was bound by his celibacy oath . Bheeshm n Vichitravir fail to appease Furious Amba n she declares Bheeshm had insulted her n she would take her revenge by killing him .... even if she has to be reborn several times for this . Amba goes off in search of her revenge .
Vichitravir veer is married to Ambika and Ambalika and he lives the pleasures of life with his two queens . His ill health soon snuffs out the life before he can sure any sons
The throne of Hastinapur falls vacant again . Satyavati regrets the ambitions of her father that snatched away the throne from Bheeshm n now her own sons too could not occupy the throne she so coveted .

Mata Satyavati asks Bheeshm to fulfill his duties n marry the widows of his brother .. he had to sire heir to the throne . Bheeshm is oath bound with celibacy for life . Satyavati then asks him to invite Vyas Muni .. he was her son n in absence of Bichitravir Vyas would produce heirs for the throne
She sends Ambika to Vyas but she gets so scared fo avyas she shuts her eyes .. Vyas predicts her son from Vyas would be born blind
Satyavati then sends Vyas ti Ambalika ,, she keeps he ey3snopen but gets very scared .. Vyas predicts that Ambalika’s son from Vyas would have poor health Satyavati asks Vyas to try once more but Ambika n Ambalika refuse to go to Vyas they send their chief maid instead .
the maid is very comfortable n happy to be with Vyas n Vyas predicts her son from Vyas would be very healthy n very intelligent .
satyavati is displeased that Ambika send her chief maid to Vyas but then asks proper care to be provided to the maid .
As time passes by Ambika gives birth to a blind son .. Ambalika gives birth to a son with poor health ,,while the chief maid gives birth to ha healthy boy
After few years Bheeshm takes them to Gurukul for Vidya .and shastra Vidya .
After he returns from gurukul with the three youth it’s time to decide an heir to the throne . Vidur is appointed the Raj mantri and Pandu is chosen as the king since Dhritarashtra as visually handicapped .coronation ceremony of Maharaj Pandu is held .
