Epi #1

The episode begins with the legendary  Ashok Kumar's voice over talking about Maharshi Goswami Tulsidas ji n his epic Ramayan .. and we see Tulsidas penning down the maha kavya ....

voice over says there was lots of criticism of Tulsidas when he rewrote the epic Ramayan in colloquial language rather than the then elite Sanskrit ... he stood his ground and said ramayan had to reach the common people to follow it in their daily lives rather then its teachings remain  restricted between a few brahmins .

Ramayan assures that when ever Autocratic powers try to suppress human kind .. the lord appears in the form of a human who shows the way to overcome the powers with truth , honesty diligence n hard work

When evil Ravan had started torturing Gods in heavens and humans on the earth alike they all went to Lord Vishnu for help and he assured them of his help... lord appears on earth in the form of a powerful human n he restore peace on this earth n heavens by the power of truth.. proving the truth always prevails 'Satyameva jayate "

Lord Vishnu is lost in deep meditation in reclining position in Coiled Shesh naag Shayya in Baikunth accompanied by Maha Laxmi .. all devtas n maharishis arrive .. and narrate their woes to him .... led by Lord Mahadev and Dev Guru Brihaspati ..  Vishnu assures he will be born as a ordinary human being in Maharaj Dasharath’s house n rid the earth from Ravan n all evil forces troubling the beings . He will reassure all beings who have faith in truth n honesty . Satyameva Jayate will prevail . .

Next scene shows Maharaj Dasharath’s palace ..the king is praying to kuldevata Surya Dev ... he has been blessed it’s everything except for heirs to the throne ... for sons .. he pleads for his wishes to be fulfilled . Sumitra , kaikeyi and Kaushalya plead Raj rishi Vashisth for doing something for them to end their childlessness .

Raj Rishi suggest Putra kameshti yagya ... to be performed by Shring Rishi ...who was specialised in this field .

Raj Rishi suggests Maharaj Dasharath had to go himself n plead the Rishi to come to Ayodhya and perform the Yagya .. he should go as a seeker/ beggar not a king .. 

Maharaj Dasharath’s goes to Shring Muni Ashram n persuades him to perform Putra kameshti yagya at Ayodhya . He agrees .

Amidst lots of celebrations this Yagya is performed . Agni devta is pleased n he appears at the end of yagya .. he blesses Dasharath with a lot of “kheer” to be consumed by his queens for them to be blessed with sons . Dasharath is very grateful .

He hands the pot to Maharani Kaushalya .. she shares the pot with Kaikeyi ..who have it themselves first .. both Kaushalya and Kaikeyi each then  feed handfuls to Sumitra .

Soon Ayodhya is blessed with heirs to the throne .. all three  queens give birth to four sons .. their naam Karan ceremony is held .. Raj Rishi Vashisth names the sons .. 

Kaushalya is blessed with Ram ..Kaikeyi with Bharat and Sumitra is blessed with twins Laxman n Shatrughan . 

The young princes have happy n pampered childhood . Soon it’s time for them to get education of Ved Vedanta ..n training in martial arts .

The four princes are given Thread ceremony ..Janeyu sanskaar .
Maharaj Dasharath sends them to off Gurukul with Raj Rishi Vashisht  for further education .

At Gurukul they have to live lives in hardships without any luxuries of Palace and also get education . They are showered with love by Gurumata Arundhati .

They have kept the script very close to the original epic n they have not deviated ...by misusing poetic liberties .. that makes it more appealing

Epi #2 

Episode begins with Guruma Arundhati showering all the disciples at Gurukul with motherly love and affection. 

Guruma and other Rishi patni teach Shastriya sangeet to the shishya .. Guru Vashisth preaches them all vedas Vedantas .. Politics ,, shastra gyan .. yoga .. ..the chakras of the human body .. Surya namaskar .... rajniti  ...arthashastra ... Sangeet .. nritya .. Yagya .. 

all the disciples learn with full attention and are soon declared all learned given Dixanth Samaroh ... antim  upadesh by Guru Vashisth n ready to leave for their homes following their completion of Gurukul training . They are advised how to return Dev rin .. Archarya rin  n pitri rin ... 

sumantra the Raj mantri of Ayodhya arrives with royal robes and after the princes change they are taken back to Ayodhya by Vashisth and Sumantra .

The return of the four princes back to Ayodhya is observed with is rejoicing n celebrations ... 

Dasharath n his 3 queens are inpatient to meet their sons .

Dasharath thanks Guru Vashisth for his kindness and is ever grateful. Vashisth says he had taken away four little innocent boys ..today he was returning four accomplished youths ..with full knowledge of Ved , Vedanth, dharma shastra .. rajniti, arthshastrsa ,Samaj shastra ..and all other knowledge  ..they excel in all fields ..he declared proudly .

The four mother’s come n meet n greet their beloved sons ..

Next scene shows moments of family bonding ..showering of motherly love on the four princes and royal pampering .

elsewhere two demons ..Subaru n Maareech destroy the yagya of BrahmRishi Vishwamitra . He decides to seek help from King Dasharath .... 

Dhasharath n his Raj Rishi Guru Vashisth welcome n receive Muninshresht Vishwamitra with great reverence . 
Vishwamitra then reveals his motive behind coming to Ayodhya .. he needed help to fight off two evils Ravan Putra Subaru n Taraka  Putra Mareech who were destroying his yagya with their evil powers .Vishwamitra seeks Ram for dealing with the evil powers .Dasharath is skeptical n unwilling to send youthful Ram for confronting these evil powers  . Vashisth assures n explains to Dasharath not to be skeptical as Vishwamitra had come for Ram’s good fortune .. and Ram was all capable . 
Vashisht states Laxman will accompany Ram as the two were always inseparable .Dasharath sends off his two sons u willingly.  
Dasharath hands his two sons to Vishwamitra .

Episode #4 

The episode begins with Ram Seeta see eachother in the pushp Vartika and they fall for eachother as in love at first sight . Seeta’s sisters n friends pull her away and Ram is left all alone ..they keep staring at eachother .

Seeta runs back to Gauri Mata n prays to her to give her Prince Ram as husband as she had fallen in love with him . Mata Gauri blesses her n signals to her by dropping a flower garland on Seeta’s neck 

Seeta is ever thankful to Gauri Mata for her blessings 

In the palace Ram is lost in thoughts of Seeta n misses her .. Seeta also is in her room ..lost in thoughts of Ram .

Laxman notices Ram and asks what was worrying him .. Ram states his mind was normally like. Peaceful lake but today if felt like it was rippling all over because some one had thrown a pebble n disturbed the peace . And he was seeing Seeta’s image in every ripple .... he was seeing Seeta in the moon too . He wonders why was this happening ?? Laxman states Seeta’s swayamvar was about to take place soon .. may be she was going to be his !! RM is not sure .

In Seeta’s room friends n sisters tease her about her lost state .

Soon Seeta is dressed up n bedecked for the swayamvar ceremony .

In his room Laxman wishes Ram the very best n hopes he won the swayamvar . Vishwamitra arrives n asks Ram Laxman to accompany him to witness Seeta swayamvar .

At swayamvar massive arrangements have been made for all invited princes n heads of states .. invited guests , queens and princesses .. the moment Ram enters all eyes go to him . 

Maharaj Janak welcomes all invited guests .. Janki is asked  to take her seat as she arrives escorted by her sisters n friends .. she looks very beautiful and everyone looks at her mesmerised by her beauty .. she seeks Janak’s blessings and takes her seat ... soon Seeta looks around n locates  Ram . Sita smiles at Ram and they have eyelock . 
sita feels shy n looks away .. 

after the initial entertainment the co dictions of the swayamvar is exp,aired to all the kings n princes present . The one who lifts the Shiv ji ka Dhanush and ties the bowstring ... will win Seeta’s hand in marriage ..
one by one princes n emperors try their luck but fail to lift the Shiv ji ka Dhanush .. .. Janak and his queen soon start worrying as all princes fail to lift the Dhanush .Janak  lives his fears that there was none on this earth who was powerful enough ..Laxman feels insulted n retorts back that he felt insulted that in presence of his all powerful elder brother Ram ,Maharaj Janak had spoken insulting words that there ere no more powerful princes on this earth . Vishwamitra asks Laxman to calm down and return to his seat .He asks Ram to go n lift the Shivji ka dhanush . Ram obeys Guru Vishwamitra’s orders n walks up to Dhanush .. he looks at sita n she looks forwards to his success . 
the audiences are doubtful if the young prince Ram would succeed where so many powerful kings n princes failed ..

Ram then lifts the Dhanush n as he tries to fix the bow string the Dhanush breaks . 
All exclaim at Ram’s victory 

Seeta garlands Ram n touches his feet . 
soon Brahm Rishi Parashuram arrives full,of fury over the breakage of his Shivji ka Dhanush . He is ready to curse the person responsible for this act . 
Maharaj Janak , Ram Laxman and Bishwamitra try to calm enraged Parashuram but fail .
