Recent Tamil Serials

Hi all!!!! I really wanted to share my thoughts on recent tamil serials that are airing on TV. First of all I don't really like the way the serials progress. All serials under different names have same story of screeching ladies, scheming villis, two wives, black magic, stupid superstition, parigarams, village tracks, age old pagais etc. Minimum condition for all the serials is to hit the 1000 episode mark and for that it starts to drag after a certain point. There were some serials which tried to break the usual norms but alas they also got into the age old stories due to TRP competition:

1. Roja- its start was good and went interesting with the entry of Arjun and Roja-Arjun marriage and how Roja wins the affections of all. There were even light hearted scenes and also emotional scenes depicting the relations nicely but nowadays it is stuck in the same circle of Priya-Sakshi winning and projecting others as dumb. Ashwin-Priya marriage track was stretched for no reason. 

2. Azhagu- This started as a family serial and also with the message of widow remarriage but nowadays it is literally garbage that too with entry of Palanisami second wife Mallika and her chitti. Already this serial was worse by promoting Poorna character too much but with this crap track going on now don't know how come talented actors Thalaivasal Vijay sir and Revathi ma'am agreed to act in this track. Even Sudha marriage which was supposed to give message turned out to another routine serial track with Poorna plotting against her and going to the extent of kidnapping baby and killing her. 

3. Run- This was an interesting serial to look forward to with the plot and casting being fresh and thrilling and there were nail biting moments in every episodes. It was more thrilling than Chidambara Ragasiyam that aired on Sun tv years ago but our audiences as usual couldn't accept the serial leading to drop in TRPs. Then the villi Meenakumari was introduced and the episodes were still dull but again got interesting after 100th episode. Then suddenly, RK Gayatri character was scrapped for no reason and now this serial has turned out to another boring serial. Even bringing in Chaya Singh (Actor Krishna's real wife) as replacement for Saranya couldn't help the serial.

4.Vijay tv serials- Vijay TV serials were more content based like KKK, Saravanan Meenatchi part 1, Madurai, KMKV. But in name of TRP competition, they have introduced more serials and bringing in artists from other states .All the serials have the same trash. If one week Pariharam, first night etc is followed in one serial, all others follow the same. Barring Pandian stores, SNSN (sometimes), ER and NINI, all other serials aren't worth to watch. Now they are gonna introduce Bhagyalakshmi serial which is another pain where the woman is being treated a slave by her family members.

5. Zee tamil serials- Zee tamil is more worse than Vijay tv in serials. All serials follow the same aruvai. The storylines aren't also gripping either. Don't know how come Sembaruthi is leading in TRP when its a completely trash serial. Most serials are copy of telugu or hindi serials and they are much experts in dragging. 

6. Colors Tamil- Except Thirumanam, no other serials aren't worth watching in colors tamil. There were some serials like Vandhal Sridevi and Perazhagi which got an abrupt end for no reason when they were running well and had proper storylines. 

I am not saying that there shouldnt be any serial but the story has to be relatable and give a proper message to the viewers. There should be a proper limit to the running of serial that is it should end within 500 episodes or else following season like format. Yes, Vijay TV did like that for KKK , Pirivom Santhippom and Saravanan Meenatchi but alas the second season couldn't gain more viewers. There should be a proper censor board for the serials and contents should be monitored regularly. It is we audiences who has to accept the changes shown in tv and promote it instead of promoting aruvai serials.
