Siddharth Shukla has found himself under brutal attack from big names in the entertainment industry for his abusive and violent behaviour. The latest in the list is Archana Puran Singh of The Kapil Sharma Show as she launched an all-out attack against Siddharth, calling him a ‘jerk.’
Samir wrote on Instagram while sharing a photo of himself with Arti Singh, “Last week of #BiggBoss13 and I hope my sister @artisingh5 wins. I hate to say this, but it would be setting a TERRIBLE precedence if Sidharth wins. No show/game, can be above decency and class. In fact, the show is a test of maintaining your sanity and dignity in-spite of the provocations. If I had behaved, like he abused Arti, my own mother would have slapped me and taken me out of the show. #RespectWomen.”
Samir did not stop here. He continued while condemning Siddharth’s abusive and violent behaviour, “I’m sorry I’m singling out Sid and I don’t know who deserves the most , but I’m against anyone who behaves this way. I spent over hundred days in season 4 and there were hardly any abuses or physical aggression, it’s not that we didn’t feel like it, we just knew how to conduct ourselves on national TV.I sometimes wonder how many girls would be ok to be abused by their boyfriends or told to F-off just because he was upset(right or wrong). Sorry not the way I was raised.”
This evoked strong reactions from his fans most of whom agreed with him. But the most notable comment came from Archana, who’s currently the judge on The Kapil Sharma Show. The comedy show is broadcast on Colors TV’s rival channel Sony TV.

‘Bigg Boss 13’: Kishwer Merchant suspects Sidharth Shukla and other contestants had access to phones inside the house
In an interview with Zoom, Kishwer, who was part of ‘Bigg Boss 9’, said just like everyone else even she found something fishy in season 13. The actress said,“Well, I really think. I don’t know about fixed tha ya nahi but definitely yeh hai ki he(Sidharth) didn’t deserve to win, which I have already said earlier also.”
She further continued, “Pata nahi kyu but yeh season mein aisa lagta tha ki andar andar kaafi baatein bhi jaa rahi thi and kaafi saari chize ho rahi thi jo kisi season mein kabhi aisa laga nahi hai, specially because we were there in one of the seasons. So, the first thing that people ask us when we came out is whether it is rigged, whether phone milta hai, khana toh milta hoga… but nahi, actually aisa nahi tha which I realised only after I went inside the house and when I came out.”
Kishwer said that she felt that the current season was rigged, “That is what I told people ki nahi aisa nahi hai, it’s not like that. But I don’t know why just while watching the show, this season, yeh feeling aayi ki nahi aisa ho raha hai andar. Kuch na kuch toh ho raha hai. I guess not only me; a lot of people had that feeling this season.”

Talking about Sidharth, she said, “Even when he was negative, he was portrayed as positive, so, it didn’t make any sense. People were watching and people were passing judgements, but he was still shown in a positive light. During the grand entry of Siddharth on Bigg Boss 13, Salman introduced him as the most desirable and eligible bachelor. Well, he’s a good looking man but just how ‘eligible’ is he?
Every die-hard Siddharth fan might spew hate at us but that doesn’t change the fact that Siddharth needs to learn how to treat and respect women. He has a crazy female fan following where women on social media are head over heels for him. Considering that, we are concerned about all the women who fall for arrogant and abusive men like Siddharth. On the show, we saw him ill-treating Shehnaz Gill and Arti Singh time and again! What’s even worse is seeing these two women support him despite all the abuses he hurled at them.
This might hurt his fans, but if he wins the show it’s going to set a terrible precedent. Not just us, but even a few TV celebs agree with us. Celebs like Archana Puran Singh, Sameer Soni, Gauhar Khan, Kishwer Merchant and Meera Chopra have slammed Siddharth for the way he speaks to the women in the house. It’s disrespectful by all means. Saying things like, “Apni aukat mein reh”, “Tu gandh hai”, “Aisi ladki” or even saying “F*** off!” to Arti is not acceptable. What’s even more unfortunate is to see the women in the house not taking a stand against him.
This led us to wonder if all the girls supporting a man like him would be okay being abused by their men? Is he the kind of person you want to be with? The man who would suppress you and only be nice to you if you agree with him? Sadly, the current season has only celebrated contestants who have verbally abused each other and acted in violent ways.
So, to all the ladies who are rooting for him to win the show, don’t get swayed by his good looks. DON’T! You need to root for men who respect women.

You were called names, including nalla inside the house, but you defeated all of them except Sidharth Shukla. Given that you were relatively unknown, you have come a long way, today. How would you sum up your journey?
I feel blessed. I believe that the audience empathised with me because I showed every emotion — good or bad — uncut and raw. All of it was real. Whatever I am today is because of the audience and they have made me reach so far. I am happy for Sidharth. Mujh mein bhi wohi junoon tha. For someone who has come from nowhere, becoming the first runner-up is a big deal. If you ask me, I haven’t lost. Main jeeta hi hoon. It’s the format of the show that only one person emerges as the winner. As far as calling me names, log kuchh bhi bole, but I am standing here today. Log bolte hain aur maine karke dikhaaya (smiles).
Would you give at least some credit for reaching so far on the show to Sidharth, as it was your fight with him that put you in focus for most part? As

I felt that I was being targeted every time from my accent to the fact that I wore perfume worth `150. I didn’t know English when I moved to Mumbai. They don’t see the positive side... when they mock me, it reflects their, personality not mine.
Sidharth and you started off as great friends, but turned foes, eventually. Do you regret that the friendship went south with him?
I didn’t know anyone inside the house, as I come from the world of modelling. My friendship with Sidharth happened organically. However later, misunderstandings seeped in and I had to take a stand because it was about my self respect. I don’t regret anything, apart from the extra ladaai. Everything is fine between us as of now.
Is aggression your strongest emotion, which can also be your weakness? Is the real Asim aggressive?
You are in the house for so many weeks, toh aapko nahi pata chalta aapne kitna aur kya kiya. In the real world, I can control my aggression.

It’s their point of view that my friendships were based on convenience, but mere end se main real tha. Maine apni dosti nibhayi, but beech mein aisi harkatein hui ki mujhe unki dosti fake lagi. I didn’t appreciate it and so, moved on.
In an interview with BT, Shefali mentioned that you had initially hit on her and she told you that she is married and much older. What do you have to say about it?
I never hit on her. Dosti thi aur bahut comfortable zone mein the. I knew she was married. Neither of us hit on the other. It won’t make any sense if I react to it because I haven’t said anything of that sort.
Talking about being real, many felt that your marriage proposal to

I was excited to see her. I would talk to the imaginary her when she wasn’t inside the house for two months. I fell in love with her. Baaki logo ko lagta tha ki main baahar aa kar badal jaunga. I told her that what mattered to me was her opinion and our love for each other. It wasn’t for the cameras. We are in a relationship and want to know each other more in the outside world.

Days after being crowned as the Bigg Boss winner, Siddharth Shukla has sensationally admitted that he felt sad about his angry outbursts against fellow contestants particularly Asim Riaz inside the Colors TV’s reality show house. His stunning confession will give credence to critics who had questioned Salman Khan’s role after the Bollywood megastar turned a blind eye to Dil Se Dil Tak actor’s violent and abusive behaviour.
In his first radio interview after winning the Bigg Boss title, Siddharth explained why felt sad about his aggressive behaviour inside the house. He said, “Once we had somebody come in and Rajat Sharma ji (India TV founder) was here. I had this whole Aap Ki Adaalat moment with him. And then I saw what I had done. So, of course you feel bad. But that’s not exactly who I am. Any of that was not true.”
Siddharth had faced plenty of heat towards the last leg of the reality show as India TV founder Rajat Sharma decided to expose him for his shenanigans. Sharma had stunned Shukla by revealing that some members of the public had sent him at least eight videos showing the latter’s physical assault on Asim Riaz. Sharma had said, “This is your problem. You don’t give importance to anybody other than yourself…As for Asim, members of the public have sent me videos. You pushed him eight times.”
Siddharth revealed that his first fight with Asim had left him shaken since he considered the latter as his younger brother. He said, “Yes, because there was a lot of emotion that I had invested in that guy. I actually took him as my younger brother. When things went astray, it was sad. When Rohit (Shetty) sir had come, I was teary-eyed because there were a lot of exchanges we had. I was feeling embarrassed and sorry about it.”
The Bigg Boss winner was asked about one fight that stayed the longest in his mind. Siddharth replied, “I think it was my first altercation with Asim which stayed longer with me because that’s not something I expected from him. There were a lot of words exchanged which I would have never associated him to talk like that to me or say things to me. But he did. So that’s the only thing that stayed with me longer.”

From body-shaming fellow contestants to making fun of the #MeToo movement, as well as getting physically violent with contestants both male and female, Sidharth Shukla seems to have done it all while on Bigg Boss Season 13
The supposedly mindless act of watching Bigg Boss Season 13 is actually a mammoth undertaking. 140 days. 139 episodes, of 60 to 90 minutes each. And yet, I’ve managed to consume it all, and then some. I’ve been a Bigg Boss addict for several seasons now, and everytime the show airs its grand finale, I feel a gaping, reality TV-shaped hole in my life.
“Yeah, a part of mine wants to cut that part and throw it out, and the other part wants to keep it. And the latter is haavi on the part that wants to throw it out,” is what Bigg Boss host and expert at being human, Salman Khan, said when addressing rumours of him leaving the show. I feel the same way. I love it enough to not miss a single episode, but it also induces a feeling of guilt. Normally, it’s just the routine guilt of being the type of person who watches Bigg Boss, but this season, there was more to that feeling. It went beyond the demand for trash TV; it felt like being witness to something that made me deeply uncomfortable and being a part that furthered it along.
Bigg Boss has always been a wet dream for those who love drama, and Season 13 stayed the course. Moving beyond the token star-attraction, we saw some of the biggest faces of Indian television — Sidharth Shukla, Rashmi Desai, Arti Singh, Mahira Sharma, Vishal Singh, Madhurima Tuli, Paras Chhabra, and others — fiercely battle it out for the title of Cringiest of Them All. The show also saw not-so-popular celebs (also known as the B-list’s B-list), Shehnaz Gill and Asim Riaz climb the charts of fame with their attention-grabbing antics. For the first time, Bigg Boss even resorted to revealing shocking personal details of contestants with no correlation whatsoever to the ongoings of the house in a timely fashion to keep the ratings up. However, one celebrity who managed to remain in the limelight despite constantly erupting scandals was Sidharth Shukla.
What we saw on national television was the blueprint of a bully, a toxic man-child, stubborn and without grace in defeat.
The popular star of Balika Vadhu fame and now Bigg Boss Season 13’s winner, Shukla emerged as one of the most controversial contestants from day one. His rumoured exes Rashami Desai, Shefali Jariwala, and Arti Singh being in the same house as competitors this season only added fuel to fire. Even before Bigg Boss though, Sidharth seems to have waded into one controversy after another. Known to be the king of tantrums in TV insider circles, the actor’s claim to fame include an arrest in a rash driving case, alleged misbehaviour with female co-actors including Rashami Desai, Sheetal Khandal, Toral Rasputra, and more recently Shilpa Shinde’s shocking revelation of physical abuse when they were “dating” many moons ago. His latest stint in Bigg Boss then only seems to have put up for public display what TV insiders already acknowledge in whispers.

There’s hardly an episode where we didn’t see him get physically violent and abusive towards fellow contestants, which included brazenly pushing women in tasks. His bad-tempered and ill-mannered personality showcased on TV night after night didn’t seem to deter his fans. Despite being nominated by Bigg Boss himself for his violent behaviour, and being subtly chided by Salman too for his aggression on numerous occasions, Shukla appears to have won all the popular votes. It was almost as if it’s still the early ’90s and it’s cool to say, “Aww, but men will be men. Male ego you know!”
Whatever happened to Bigg Boss’ strict action against the physical violence “niyam ulanghan”? Whether it was him pushing Mahira Sharma early in the show during a task, repeatedly assaulting Asim Riaz, or holding Shehnaz Gill by her neck and pinning her to the ground, the makers appeared to have gone out of their way to justify his actions instead of evicting him. Who can forget how he assassinated Rashami Desai’s character in the “aisi ladki” fight? Or him repeatedly dismissing “good friend” Arti Singh and calling her dumb on national television? Besides threatening male contestants by asking them to meet him outside the house, Shukla also used any and every opportunity to pass derogatory remarks and insult housemates. From body-shaming fellow contestants to making fun of the #MeToo movement, he seems to have done it all. Truly the signs of a winner!
As much as his fans are to be blamed for his popularity in Bigg Boss Season 13, one can’t ignore the fact that the makers seemed to have turned a blind eye to every wrongdoing in the garb of entertainment. In the four-and-a-half months that the show aired on TV, Shukla’s problematic, abusive behaviour was consistently brushed off as an angry young man who just happens to react when provoked. Both the host and Bigg Boss seemed careful in their choice of words when scolding him. It’s hard not to notice this when in the past seasons contestants have been evicted for similar behaviour. It also makes one wonder then if Bigg Boss was biased towards Shukla in its bid for TRPs. If true, by making him victorious, Bigg Boss has set a terrible precedent.
It’s 2020 and only obvious to expect reality show makers know the difference between voyeuristic TV and giving abusive men a platform. For the first time in years, I’m glad the show has ended. Disappointed as I am with Bigg Boss Season 13, in our lord and saviour Salman Khan’s own words, “It gets stressful, but I learn a lot. And I get to know where the country is going, what is happening to values, morals, scruples and principles. We see it right there, with celebrities.”

Shukla won the trophy and Asim won respect like the Lightning McQueen in this final scene from Movie CARS.
We were rooting for Asim, like this last scene where sports arena was rooting for Lightning McQueen. They both won better than trophy, the Respect. They earned it.
