I have a feeling you are not new to writing.  Are you an old writer who lost your credentials or are you a writer who wrote on a different platform?

I am just curious.

Your writing style and the plot of the story piqued my interest and I will be with you in this journey.

My knowledge in poetry is zero.

But I will try to read all the poetry flowing between you three.

Cheers.......

I agree, Raji! I also wondered if this could be one of the veteran writers. I have a teeny tiny shaq, who it could be 😁

Shaurya Singh Raizada and Nandini Singh Raizada 😊

The sher you quoted hit me somewhere right in the gut. "tujh se bhī dil-fareb haiñ ġham rozgār ke"- Sigh! If that ain't the bitter pill of truth!

Begangi toh apni jagah hai, par ye bhi irshad hai ke-

uTh kar to aa ga.e haiñ tirī bazm se magar

kuchh dil hī jāntā hai ki kis dil se aa.e haiñ

I think that’s the most beautiful part about writing, a simple line written by someone from a different era and might’ve gone through something very different in life, but still renders you awestruck.

maiñ ne samjhā thā ki tū hai to daraḳhshāñ hai hayāt

terā ġham hai to ġham-e-dahr kā jhagḌā kyā hai

I don’t think I can get over this ever, so would probably end up quoting this nazm very often!

Dheere dheere kaan mein boldo, who is it?

Birds of a feather flock together.😊

Loving it already.

Could not see cutie pie Arnav in distress.  It turned out to be 26 year old Arnav is no different.  He received a big blow even after trying to control his anger and after deciding not to fall in love.

Cheers....

Thank you so much! No, I'm not new to writing. To be honest, this is not a new piece either. I had written this a while ago for another platform with different character names, but owing to certain circumstances was unable to carry the story forward then.

Knowledge in poetry should be immaterial in making your presence felt welcome here. A willing ear is just as precious as a rhyming tongue :)

Note: Newbies aren't allowed more than 11 posts a day, unfortunately :/ And not quote more than thrice either. Will re-join the mehfil in 24 hrs.

Wonderful!  Boundless love for Arnav and Khushi and comments filled with poetry, what a combination!

I just want to add some thing which I found in google while searching for Mirza Ghalib's poetry.

hazāroñ ḳhvāhisheñ aisī ki har ḳhvāhish pe dam nikle

bahut nikle mire armān lekin phir bhī kam nikle

MIRZA GHALIB

Poetry is one subject I always stayed away from.  This is getting interesting.

Cheers..........

Oh this one's a favorite in its entirety!

kabhi to subha tire kunj-e-lab se ho aaghaaz

kabhi to shab sar-e-kākul se mushk-baar chale.

You have just quoted one of my favorites from Ghalib's collection. The wistfulness and the insatiable thirst of human desire has been so beautifully captured in these two simple lines. In this same piece, there is another sher which happens to be very close to my heart-

Mohabbat mein nahin hai farq jeene aur marne ka

Ussi ko dekh kar jeete hain, jis qaatil pe dam nikle

(Please do let me know if you need help with translations. Oh and it's never too late to fall in love with poetry!)
