No. It would have fared about the same.  JNU issue had an impact ( positive or negative ) only on a small section of population:

Nope. There isn't any big actor in the movie and she doesn't have a starpower of her own so Chappak would have fared the same!

Yes I feel the movie would have opened atleast at 8 cr if the JNU incident didn't happen. It affect the movie a lot considering majority of our country is RW aligned.

Woh IT cell funded hai. They had no intention to see the movie either. It was started by a BJP spokesperson jisko delhi election ka ticket chahiye tha.

It might have affected the opening day collections.


But all said and done, Chapaak was a badly-made movie. The screenplay wasn't strong enough and it was more like a documentary without a single redeeming factor, except the performances.
