Literally half the number of screens of Tanhaji...Adding this to the fact that its essentially a niche’ film and a gruesome watch, these two movies shouldn’t even be compared....
I believe each of them have done their roles perfectly.
Meghna , Deepika, Atika have given their whole to the film. They have given the subject importance. It is treated with sensitivity, not once does the story force you to react with usual jarring BGM music tactic.
This movie is beyond BO . Deepika is unreal in the film, in fact u do not see DP in the film, it is Malti from the very first scene where she enters without any hoopla. She has surpassed Piku and Tara for me.. especially the way she makes Malti so endearing and showcases her innocence and also emotes in the emotional scenes. Dialogue delivery is also so perfect. She surrenders herself to the role and the impact is real. You cry and laugh along with her.
Special mention to Madhurjeet who plays the Lawyer.. She is terrific in every scene , she stand by Malti and is the force behind her.
Vikrant and Dp share a wonderful chemistry. It is beautifully captured and it is lovely to see a lovestory like this.
All in all Chhapaak makes you think and reflect, it is not an easy watch at all. the film stays with you even after you leave the theater. Malti is ♥♥

Yeah agree.. also no peppy song, just a sweet romantic track and a title track. This speaks about a real life incident and everyone knows its based on Laxmi's story so no surprise in the story either.
