Going by the reviews seems like itโ€™s actually an average Movie and not better than raazi and talvar . The way the describe it is a give away and the harsh ones are even polite and mentioning that it should be watch cause people need to know about acid attacks. Also suprised that the best scenes they mention are the ones in the trailer.
Nevertheless good luck!.

Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior has started well with occupancy in the 20-25% rage in the morning shows. The film has benefited with a very good start in Maharashtra which is going to mean good circuit numbers in Mumbai and CP Berar while Marathawada could even push Nizam / Andhra to a good number. The film has regional appeal in these places so should be able to score in these parts.

The rest of the country has seen lower numbers which is to be expected as the pluses for Maharashtra are not pluses for other markets and these markets its more of a word of mouth and growth film. The fact that it released with Chhapaak is not helpful in these parts as it give the audience a choice. The Delhi / UP market will be crucial for the film as Mumbai will do well and if Delhi / UP can support then the job will be done. the opening collections are pretty decent in the state in UP but Delhi NCR is not too good.

The other release of the week Chhapaak has a fair start of 15-20% with the Delhi NCR belt and Bangalore being neck to neck with Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior. Its a reasonable start for a female led film and the target will be to beat the numbers of films like Raazi and Manikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi more so the former as its from the same director but its Deepika Padukone instead of Alia Bhatt this time.

The film got a tax exemption in Chhatisgarh but its a bit of joke as the film as its like they know that the film will not collect here anyway so a tax exemption makes little difference. the opening collections are pretty much a washout in the state be it Raipur, Bhilai or Bilaspur which are the only 3 stations in the state which can collect for this film.

The makers of these type of films always claim how they want to create awareness of certain subjects but make such products which look the fake and story telling which looks very uninteresting that they just remain with the regular high end multiplex going audience in metros.
