"Yeh toh humaari badkismati hai ki ek naachnewaali..." Parveen told Saima's inlaws.
"Bass karo Ammi, please!" He yelled.
For a change, there was no anger in his voice. He was pleading, earnestly and in the truest sense of the word. His eyes looked feeble, teary and his shoulders drooped under the might of the repetitive accusations.
"Please Ammi, aap chaliye mere saath" Aman excused them both and took her away.
"Tum samjh kyun nahi rahe ho Aman?" Parveen shouted at him.
"Aap nahi samajh rahi hain Ammi. Aapse galti ho rahi hai, tabse, jabse Roshni ke saath mera nikaah hua hai" he said, as a matter of fact.
Parveen was taken aback. She sat down heavily on the bed, his words ringing in her ears.
"Aapse galti ho rahi hai"
"Haan beta, shayad mujhse hi galti ho gayi..." she said, looking at him, dejectedly.
"Ammi...." he toned down. He wiped away her tears.
He sat beside her and took her hands in his.
"Ammi aap yeh kyun nahi samajh rahi hain ki Roshni yahan sirf aur sirf humaare liye hai. Woh Ayaana hai, sirf woh hi Jinn ko haraa sakti hai" he tried his best to put across his point of view.
"Magar Aman woh ek naachnewaali..."
"Ek minute. Ab bohot sunn liya maine. Kya hum mein se kisi ne bhi use kabhi bhi naachte hue dekha hai. Ammi uski bakery hai. Mehnat karke paise kamaati hai woh"
"Aman! Woh ek tawaif ki beti hai. Tujhe pata hai naa yeh log kaise hote hain? Kuch paison ke liye apni izzat ko bech dete hain beta... abhi tu bhola hai. Nahi jaante inki parvarish kaisi hoti hai, inke maa baap kaise..."
"Abbu toh mere bhi kisi darinde se kam nahi the. Toh kya ab meri bhi parvarish par sawaal uthenge Ammi?" He said it straight, cutting her words.
Parveen was numbed beyond words.
"Aman!" She yelled. He shouldn't have said that. "Tu ek Nawaab hai aur woh ek kothe waali"
"Kya fark padta hai!" He smirked. "Mr. Juniad Khan ne kaunse Nawaabon waale kaam kiye hain?"
Parveen looked away. There was no point and no end to this debate.
Aman turned her face towards him.
He took a deep breath.
"Ammi mera matlab aapko chott pohochaana nahi tha. Main bass itna kehna chahta hoon ki humein Roshni ki zaroorat hai, use humaari nahi. Woh chahti toh kabka humein problem mein chodkar jaa sakti thi par woh hai yahan. Mere liye. Humaare liye. Kyun Ammi?" He reasoned. She fell silent.
"Meri aapse ek hi request hai. Woh jab tak yahan hain, humein uski respect karni hai, uski izzat karni hai. Ek second ke liye bhi use yeh nahi lagna chahiye ki woh apne ghar mein nahi hai."
He was fed up of the regular taunts thrown her way for no sane reason. He wanted an end to this and he wanted it now.
"Woh humaara ghar tod degi Aman" Parveen told disappointed. "Tu abhi nahi samjhoge. Jab samajh aayega tab tak der ho jaayegi."
She got up to leave when he held her hand.
"Ammi. Sirf Laal Chaand ki Raat tak woh yahan hai. Uske baad sab khatam ho jaayega. Aapko lagta hai ki woh humaara ghar todd degi par aap kyun use apni bahu maan rahi hain? Mat maniye na iss parivaar ka sadasya. Aur baharwaale ghar kabhi todd hi nahi sakte."
He finally made a point and he could see it in her eyes. A small smile crept up his face. It took him time and effort but finally he managed to convince her in her own language.
"Main chahta hoon ki jab tak woh yahan hai, tab tak usi koi takleef na ho. Koi takleef nahi" he said. "Please uske liye na sahi toh mere liye kar dijiye."
She patted his cheek gently, nodded and left.
Aman had a small victorious grin on his face.
He was happy that he could do something for her when she had done so much for him.
He followed her out and saw Parveen escort Roshni down the staircase and introduce her to the crowd. Parveen wasn't happy, for the smile did not reach her eyes, but she had tried.
Aman chuckled at Roshni's unbelievably awed expression. She looked at him in the distance and he ran his hand through his hair, with a face full of attitude and a heart full of concern.

Just saw the precap and somehow I wasn't disappointed at all! It's okay. Small, warm and heartfelt gestures speak louder than a thousand clear words.
Ofcourse he doesn't love her. Why should he think about keeping her with him forever, as of yet? Pyaar hone toh do!
