12 June 2000
The magical hospital named Curatiolocus was filled with the noises of a baby crying. The mother of the bay just looking at the knew that she was destined for great things just like her elder is destined. Being a Mellonilectorum had its benefits of knowing how a person will be in his or her life but it also had it own disadvantages like knowing when you will be dying. It may sound a boon for anyone but not for someone whose death is just a few moments in the future. And that was the case with Alina Iqbal Siddique who knew that her time was up and that she had to reunite with her husband who died in a mission.
She wasn’t scared; no in fact she felt death was way peaceful than life but what she was actually scared of was leaving her daughters a three-year-old and this only a just born infant in this world without any mentoring them. Yes, her husband and her friends Parveen and Junaid would always raise their daughters as their own but could they guide them into knowing their powers??? Will her daughters understand that who their soulmates are?? Will they understand what they are destined for??
And on that at the midnight of 12 June 2000 Alina Iqbal Siddique died leaving her daughters in care of her friends to reunite with her husband Iqbal Rahim Siddique after giving birth to her younger daughter yesterday on 11 of June 2000. Their she laid dead besides whom a baby girl crying loudly because maybe she sensed that her mother was going away from her. The nurse who had come to check up after the end of delivery so that they could announce the birth of the daughter and health of the mother to their relatives outside saw them in that position. Seeing this she quickly went towards the doctor’s cabin while three pairs of eyes followed her every step. They were the eyes of Alina’s two friends and her elder daughter who was just 5 years old understanding nothing as to why her mother was the hospital etc., she wanted to play with Rahul and his younger brother Aman who was one something. Yes, her mother had told her that she was to be getting a sister. She had told her that just like Rahul she would have a younger sibling
Parveen was scared seeing the nurse run towards the doctor’s cabin. It was as if she was reliving this incident once again. The same thing had happened with Iqbal and that time she had the same feeling that she was having now. A feeling of losing someone close, a loved one basically. It made her feel very tensed. What will happen to the two girls? How will they survive in thus cruel world? Not that she and Junaid won’t raise them as their own but people say you can be like a parent but can’t take the place of a parent in a child’s life. There would always be a void place of their parents in their heart.
When the doctor came out seeing his solemn face Junaid khan was having fear in his heart. was his sister safe? Was the little baby safe and sound? Is there any problem? The delivery was successful wasn’t it then why did they rush into her ward and come back with a solemn face?? When will they give Alina and the baby’s update? Even after the surgery they haven’t said anything
“congratulations it’s a girl. the baby is safe and sound. She is very healthy and is of the right weight.” The doctor finally spoke delivering the good news after the delivery which had happened ages ago but wait what about Alina shouldn’t he be saying about her also??
“doctor what about my sister?” Junaid asked to which the doctor sighed and gave a dramatic pause which made the couple anxious and Aisha confused as to why everyone was so upset and scared. Was her mother okay and how was her sister??
“iam sorry to say this Mr khan. We tried everything but….” the doctor said leaving the statement unfinished he left with the nurse to attend the other people and to give privacy to the family. The nurse gave them as sympathetic look and went off.
After maybe an hour of mourning when Junaid saw Aisha confused and upset, he realised he had to be strong, if not for himself then for his sister’s daughters. She was just 5 years old and Roshni just born. He couldn’t be this weak nor could Praveen be. “Praveen my dear stop crying, we have to be strong if not for ourselves then for the girls at least. I need you to be support me.”
Hearing her husband Praveen understood how selfish she was becoming. She looked towards Aisha who had started sobbing. Aisha was confused seeing their faces but knew that something was not right so she also started crying.
Phuphi, what happened? Why are you crying. Is Ammi okay?” Aisha asked like a matured girl. They always took pride in saying that Aisha was way ahead than most in at her age but how do you say to child that her mother will never come back? That she has died? “tell na Phuphi”
Aisha my dear your Ammi has gone very far” Junaid replied
Where Phuphajaan??” she asked curiously
“your mother has gone where your father is.” He replied which made her go silent. She knew where exactly her father was and that she will never ever come back. But even then, she didn’t cry maybe because she felt that she had someone waiting for her inside the room.
Junaid and Praveen holding Aisha’s hand went inside to take Roshni with them and also give a final goodbye to Alina. It broke their heart to see Alina laying lifeless while Aisha kept her eyes towards Roshni. Because she knew that the moment, she looks at her mother she will start crying
Junaid and Parveen said their goodbyes to Alina and Junaid took Roshni in his arms. It was Aisha’s turn to say a goodbye. She closed her eyes and kissed her mother’s forehead without saying anything.
“come my dear child now we have to go to the khan villa which will be your and your sister home now” said Parveen taking the young girl in her arms while moving towards a new life. Junaid and Parveen had already made up their mind that they would do anything to assure these two girls’ happiness. Roshni was calmly sleeping in Junaid’s arms while Aisha was playing with Parveen’s locket in her arms. They looked like a perfect family. But tomorrow the khan couple had to come again so as to take Alina’s body for proper cremation. They couldn’t take her now because it was the hospital’s policy as they believed that a thorough check up can only declare a person dead but Parveen knew her best friend was dead and nothing could be done.
Even if she couldn’t save Roshni and Aisha’s mother but she could be like a mother for them. She glances at her husband and at that moment they knew that Aisha and Roshni will always have parents in their life. Named Junaid and Parveen khan.
