Also those creating a fuss over nothing should know that we have been celebrating Naraka Chaturdashi (South & North India) / Bhoot Chaturdashi (East India) for ages in India during the same time as that of Halloween with both the festivals (NC & Halloween) having their roots in celebrating the harvest festival and revolving around ghosts and celebration of the end of evil. (Naraka Vadh by Lord Krishna celebrated in South and North & Chanda munda vadh by Maa Kali that we follow here in the East). All these Halloween celebrations are nothing but just an extension and result of globalization.
Just like Mexico celebrates Dia De Muertos we too celebrate Bhoot Chaturdashi as the Day of the Dead and light diyas all around our house believing our ancestors are coming to meet us at home and guide them with the light.
The whole world is connected. We have similar festivals but with different names and beliefs. What's Indian will always stay Indian, what's western will always stay Western. Just because someone celebrates a western festival here in India, doesn't mean Indian festivals or hindu festivals khatre mein hai. The Hindu culture that everyone is worried about here is very much in safe hands and is being practiced and celebrated everywhere. All these Halloween parties are just extensions to having fun and having a good time as a community.
Like I said before, people here are acting as if the whole country didn't celebrate Diwali but spent all their fortune on Halloween. Kadoo ka bhaav aaj kal 30 rupaye ke bhaav mein bik raha hai. Agar bacche kadoo ko khodke Halloween celebrate karenge aur waste karenge toh mammiyon se chapere milenge. Aur trick aur treat karne jaaoge toh bagal wali padosan se diwali pe mili sadi hui haldiram ki soan papdi milegi.
Toh to all the thekedars of Hindu culture here in the forum giving character certificates, bekaar mein BP badhaa rahe ho, sab kushal mangal hai!
Though I wonder how many people here actually live in India to make all these fuss and assumptions without knowing the ground reality. Or they are just delusional just like this lady who acts like a thekedar of Hindu culture yet thinks Bhoot Chaturdashi is a muslim festival.😆
