The story of the film deals with a young boy called Karan Sehgal played by Karan Deol who is a travel guide. He comes across Sahher Sethi played by Sahher Bambba in his group whom he has to take for an adventure trip. During her stay love blossoms between the two which the couple realizes only after their depart. The next comes to the action and drama that comes in their way of love, so how it works can only be caught on the silver screen near to you when the film hits the theatre.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas Movie

Review

The film has no innovation when it comes to story and the basic plot. We see the same old love stories being twisted and turned in different ways to present a new movie under the title, which somewhere is liked a lot by Dharam pa ji who remains the producer of the film. So, in terms of story and content, you have the same old melodrama and romance, which we have been watching for decades in B Town. However, it somewhere would remind the seventies and eighties film which somewhere had similar stories.

More often the film appears dull and mundane, thanks to the below-average performances of the lead actors for the obvious reasons. Since the two have been doing their debut in B Town, nothing much is expected from them. The film also loopholes in rhythms by turning repetitive and vulnerable to grip the audience for long. At times, it also becomes predictable thus hampering the zest of the audience to catch the film at one stretch. Except for photography, which involved some of the best scenes of mesmerizing landscapes, hills, and valleys along with other picturesque locations, the other elements seemed dull thus hampering the entertainment value of the film in a big way. Lastly, the music seemed okay, which somewhere was able to keep the film intact for the audience.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas – The Last Word

The film lags in terms of having the innovation and uniqueness over the silver screen. However, if you want to catch some cool locations and mesmerizing stuff and some cool kind of music, it can be a one time watch for you, otherwise, you can catch the film at your own risk.

Why do starkids always get launched in the most generic, done-to-death type of love stories?

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas Movie Review: Highs and lows of love

Ronak Kotecha, TNN, Sep 19, 2019, 08.44 PM IST

Critic's Rating: 2.5

STORY: When video blogger Saher Sethi (Sahher Bambba) embarks on a tedious trek with mountaineer Karan Sehgal (Karan Deol), sparks are bound to fly. But will their love story blossom despite the odds?

REVIEW: Much like Sunny Deol’s debut film ‘Betaab’, his latest directorial ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’ also opens in the picturesque mountains of north India. A young Karan Sehgal runs an exclusive trekking company in Manali called ‘Camp Ujhi’, which is very popular among tourists and celebrities alike. Back in Delhi, India’s top vlogger Saher is looking to escape from an annual family reunion. So she somehow manages to bag the assignment to review ‘Camp Ujhi’. However, she is quite certain that the super exorbitant camp experience is a scam and is determined to bust it. This sets the stage for a typical love-hate encounter between the film’s lead pair, which is what takes up most of the first half. Apart from the stunning sights of Himachal (captured beautifully by cinematographers Himman Dhameja and Ragul Dharuman), there is not much to cheer for. Both the lead characters barely have any arch or real conviction to make the audience root for them. Saher is an ace blogger and an aspiring singer, but she doesn’t seem committed to either of the two vocations. She constantly cribs and rants about how difficult the trek is, when she knew exactly what she was signing up for. Karan’s business is flourishing, but he is barely involved in it. Thankfully, the two youngsters show some promise in the acting department, despite their loosely written characters. Karan Deol is honest in his portrayal of an orphaned youngster, who grew up in the hills. While he is decent in the emotional scenes, he has scope to improve in dialogue delivery. Also, he doesn’t quite lend himself naturally into the heavy-duty action scenes where he seems quite far stretched. The film’s leading lady Sahher Bambba makes a confident debut and looks glam. She is strong in confrontational and emotional scenes, but can have better timing in comedy.

However, for a film aspiring to be an innocent love story, the chemistry between the lead pair isn’t exactly crackling to create any memorable moments. The film’s music is melodious, although, it slackens the pace of the narrative. The film turns into an all out confrontation drama towards the climax, but none of the conflicts feel organic.

It’s evident that director Sunny Deol wanted to make a pure, simple love story. However, with a meatier story and better etched out characters, this one could’ve soared.
