SPM ~ My Musings 17.8.19~ Half-truth v complete truth
Giggly,innocent, child-like Kainat, continues with showing all around some of her half-truths. Like, she is Zaroon’s wife Saltanat,but in reality its Kainat, is it half a wife? while the one fighting for her life in Kainat’s room is Saltanat / Kainat herself . Kainat’s fake carriage of herself and what she utter’s is intended to deceive. The strategy she uses is to omit some facts,full accounts of her persona, that makes us conclude that everything we see about her is only partially true, a ploy to mislead.
Within the episode we see interesting examples of both semi truths and whole truths. Humans, often use the two when required, to either protect themselves or others.
Dr.Sharma though, does full justice to his trade when he gives his diagnosis, future action and prognosis upon Kainat’s neurological condition. The likes of Zaroon as the patients relative reacts against Sharma’s negative feedback. However Dr. Sharma’s realistic feedback sounds negative, but he ‘d rather not mislead and raise high hopes in the family.
Zaroon’s partly true reaction of anxiety for Kainat does prompt Dr.Sharma to conclude that Zaroon has to be Kainat’s emotionally distraught husband. Which is far from the truth. Zaroon’s confession that she is his sister in law, actually embarrasses Sharma to realize that it's not how it looks.
While others are genuinely distressed about how serious things are with Kainat. The fake Saltanat,Kainat only acts upset, but her true emotions show in her sided mischievous giggle! Sheer bliss..soon Zaroon’s, Saltanat will become the eternal sleeping beauty.
Zaroon’s mock wife Saltanat, swallows with much annoyance, her husband’s unbridled complete expressions of Sufiyana, concern, anxiety ,love for Kainat or Saltanat?? It’s like even in her virtually swapped, but mute identity , somewhere Saltanat brain dead, mocks her! almost saying, that try you can Kainat, but Zaroon’s love you can never enjoy! Kainat fails to deal with Zaroon from giving others the impression that he must be the patient’s hurting husband..
Kainat slips into various half-truth roles quite easily. Be it Zaroon’s caring wife, who wants him to rest! or Kainat’s caring sister, who offers to accompany Dr.Sharma to the hospital to conduct a CT scan on the patient’s brain..
As far as Dr.Sharma goes. Kainat feels she has to get in there with him, to narrate her part of the story. The scene between these two in the ambulance, is a typical task used in patient assessment, where the medical team may want to know about information, that may have a bearing on the patient’s condition.
Kainat as patients, close next of kin, is more obsessed to clarify her husband’s overly interest in the patient. I would say, what she reports to Dr.sharma about her marriage to Zaroon is mostly true.. The other half of the truth, is cleverly portrayed side of the story. The subtle impression she gives Dr.Sharma is that Zaroon was chosen for Kainat,but he chosen her instead. The half-truth she narrates, is being Saltanat, for Kainat .despite the complications that arose due to Zaroon, there was no malice or hard feelings in her heart for Kainat! The imposter Kainat expects Dr.Sharma to accept and respect the information she gave him. Devious Kainat also makes sure that no harm comes to the Shah family name either! I wonder if Sharma can read between the lines? That has to be tension between the twins..
Rubina confesses, before Ghazala that she fails to bear grudges against the dying Kainat,after the way she wronged Saltanat. Rubina ‘s truthful admission shows as Ghazala mentions, that Rubina is anxious about Kainat. Because as a mother, she sees both the twins as daughters of the family!
Another scene that highlights honesty and truth is Nadeem’s anxiety over Zaroon’s unusualconcern for Kainat, at the expense of perhaps side-lining Saltanat. The scene shows, complete understanding between a father and his son in law. There lies great comfort level between the two;a respect for each others opinion. Zaroon assures Nadeem, a naturally concerned father , that as it happens, Kainat condition‘sis due to him, hence till she is stable.. he feels responsible for her. Saltanat is his very life source quite irreplaceable! Without Saltanat life for him, would bequite unimaginable.. Nadeem, however, somewhere also feels that not every one fromthe outside world would be sensitive to how Zaroon feels about Kainat..
The scene between Zaroon and Mamoon is a swing between complete truth and half-truth. Zaroon‘s lack of trust in his father, that actually began with Mamoon disapproving Zaroon of getting married to Saltanat .This trust keeps deteriorating.. with Sabina bending Zaroon’s ears, that Mamoon may be involved in his kidnaping! Zaroon’s fury for his father is quite bare an bold! He fires questions regards his fathers integrity! Only Mamoon fails to relate his true connection with Sabina..Mamoon only supplies half -truths , that fail to have an impact upon Zaroon.!
Finally the prankster Kainat’s total half- truth scene that she sets up to entertain herself by allowing her mother Zainab to conduct a SOS call to the local emergency services to be rescued from theclutches of her wicked daughter! Much to Zainab’s relief she connects with a woman who asks for the distressed person’s exact location! Much to Kainat’s amusement she derives great pleasure in lifting then crashing her mothers hopes! That sorry luv! But you are connected with your wicked but smart daughter Kainat! Zainab loses all hope when Kainat assures her just a few more hours and then she will be set free too!To join her beloved daughter Saltanat! in paradise! The scene was Kainat’s ploy to check if she had broken her mothers stance, of exposing the true face of Kainat!
Dr.Sharma. has bad news.. the CT scan confirms that the family needs to brace themselves for the only option available to them.. turn off Kainat’s life support systems. So she can die peacefully and end her suffering forever….
Precap: Spitefully an elated Kainat posing as Saltanat, suggests, that since Zaroon felt responsiblefor Kainat’s suffering perhaps he should be the one to switch off her lifesupport machine and set herfree! Kainat’s source of joy is to either kill those who have wronged her.. orthose she cannot kill off like Zaroon.. she can certainly force them to accept god’s will! pressurise them to move on! With Zaroon switching off Kainat’s life support she demands a closure of his Sufiyana love with Saltanat.. will Zaroon make a fresh start with this trickster?? 18.8.19 hamlet53
