HW actors also make very little money when they're starting out and struggling. Most of them work as waiters or hold down other jobs and go do auditions in their spare time. Most TV actors make like 10K per episode unless they end up getting onto a giant hit like Friends.
HW is different in terms of how much work a person can do per year. Even if Gal Gadot makes 10 million a movie, that's the only thing she will be doing all year or maybe even in 2 or 3 years. Someone like Deepika can do ads and endorsements and make that money easily. The industries work in different ways.
Also it's silly to compare to what money could be made in HW if she was at the very top of the A-list. That wouldn't happen - it's extremely unlikely for a brown or black actress. You're talking about the .00001% chance that someone makes it to that level and it's something silly to bank on especially for an actress who is already earning well in another industry. It's the same reason popular South Indian actors don't come to BW. There's isn't much there for them to gain - they're not going to make it to the Khan level so why struggle at lower levels? There is no sense in giving up steady success and money at home to chase after something that is probably not going to happen.
How can we disagree on numbers? Those are facts, not a matter of perspective. Do you really think Bollywood films get as much viewership as Hollywood films?
Avengers End game got footfalls of 2 crores in India alone, and that's equivalent to the footfalls of Padmaavat in India. Avatar got about 10 crore footfalls in US itself, and I am not even talking about other English speaking countries.
If Gal Gadot can make only one movie, it's not like Deepika is doing 10? She hardly does one movie in two years these days anyway. Actresses in HW also do commercials and other things to make money. Movies isn't the only source. In fact, Deepika could get her current brands like L'Oreal to shell out a much bigger amount of money for her deal if she is globally well known.
I am not saying she would be right at the top. But if she works hard enough she can definitely earn a place for herself there. Her opportunities in India are drying up anyways as she is in her mid-30s now. In HW, she can continue doing meaty parts for another decade or more - there she would get the longevity that she may not get in India.
Anyway, my point is there are obvious benefits from moving to Hollywood and it would be refershing if she acknowledged that instead of pretending it's no big deal.
