While diversity is needed, having a song in Hindi does mean that it is accessible and understood by more people. If it was an independent, private production, like Uri, I don't have any issues. But it's funded by the government, which in turn is funded by people's taxes; all people, not just people who are Hindi speakers.

India is a democratic country, with 22 official and more than 100 unofficial languages. When this is the scenario, how can any one impose only one language to the whole country? Understood by 44%, great. What about the other 56%? What should they do?

This song is being released by the CRPF as a homage to the martyrs so they will obviously try to maximize its reach. Agreed that it cannot be understood by everyone in the country, but it is the mode through which maximum people will be able to understand it. 

If it was made in a language understood by 8% of the population then 92% wouldn’t be able to get it. Surely you comprehend that chosing Hindi as the medium minimizes the gap between the people who can grasp it and those who can’t.

This would not even amount to 0.0001% of the tax amount collected, so thats a moot argument. 

By this logic, having ads of polio awareness etc. in Hindi is also a violation of taxpayers speaking other languages since they won’t be able to understand it.

What do you think the budget of the song is to have any impact on taxes???

Also, thats a pretty common thing- all the tax that I pay is not attributed to things that would impact only me.

What makes u think it is funded by government?  Check the tweet..It is produced by Happy productions..And the song was conceived long back..After Pulwama attack..Shooting had started in April end..
