I am reading WU. So did Ranbir think Prachi was involved in the scandal when he was talking with Aryan? And, seriously, let him be paired with Rhea. I don't like such a cheapo. It is plain disgusting for anyone.
Well he fumbled back and forth between not believing prachi can do this, then wondering whether she could have only because she asked him during an argument with him whether he was on drugs (silly), then concluding that she couldn't have done it but mainly believes her only because his chief (abhi) believes her and he believes anyone that chief does.
One thing I've gathered about ranbir from the past times and even now whenever prachi has been blamed for something is that he isn't judgmental. The guy is simply an immature flirt who is overtly pampered with no sense of responsibility and takes things too lightly but has his heart in the right place at the end of the day.
He would never actively have malicious feelings or act maliciously towards someone to get his way like rhea-aliya, but agreeing to the bet so easily and taking rhea's bet of breaking prachi's heart so lightly makes him look bad, but given his current flirty character who girls love getting attention from and seem to harbor no ill feelings for him despite him not actually showing any relationship commitment towards any girl, he thinks he would simply be doing what he usually does with girls (they've never shown any girl show any negative emotions towards his flirtatious behaviour or rejection seriously) only that he thinks he has to just reject prachi when she starts showing interest in him without realising that he's actually agreeing to play with a girl's emotions and betray her, so at this point it is a case of not realising the depth of the consequences or how wrong it is to make a girl fall in love with him by faking emotions with her, although this really doesn't excuse him.
Anyways, right now I'm not liking how practically every character has been written so far.
