Prologue

He sat there contemplating his mistakes. He'd made many of them, he was only human. Not all of them were unintended though, some were impulsive decisions that he knew stemmed out of immaturity.
Whimsical, temperamental, inconsistent, he had been it all, and at the worst possible moments and he could see the results now. He sat there like a criminal, hoping for redemption, begging for fate to have mercy. Clueless as to what else he could do as his path to get her love itself had brought him here, to this point where he was without her.
He called out to his love in pain and somewhere within, he really hoped this telepathic conversation was successful and that she would hear him and return.
It had been so long since their breakup, and her voice in his head was starting to fade. He still could hear her say that she didn't want to be with him though, and he still remembers her walking away. He respected her words. He knew after all that he was at fault and he was paying for his deeds. He didn't know how he would ever be able to convey to her how guilty, how regretful, how much in pain he was.
It was her wish to stay away. This was what she wanted and he accepts it. He had to let her go and he understood this but his heart, who was going to explain it to his emotional fool of a heart?
He didn't know if she was his medicine or his pain as reliving his multiple memories with her gave him both pleasure and anguish. Those moments with her were still golden for him, and he wanted to ask her if she too remembered them like him, whether she too thought of them like he did.
Clueless, that's all he is now that his love itself had taken him down this route, this inexplicable, ineffable route that made him feel incomplete.
He wished and he wished, he continually wished for her to come back, to stop punishing him like this. He could only wish after all, nothing about this relationship was in his control anymore..

This story is called that because I love the song and it's lyrics, because this prologue is inspired by its lyrics and because Khamma Ghani means live long and what we want most for Taarey is that their love story lives long.. too cheesy na? ok the name may changeš
This story starts a week after Taani's engagement, will be pretty intense in the beginning as they have quite some knots to solve! Do tell me what y'all think of itā¤ļø
