So guys I'm all caught up. Lagta hain sabne show chor diya. I might too and try out the new show on star instead. because this show is a mess of colossal proportions. dhanak is ttly crazy and this shaadi track is ttly unnecessary other than to stop consummation of the marriage. and this whole laxmi gaitonde track is unnecessarily demonized. four drug addicts died from taking drugs that was unknowingly transported by raghu, woop di doo. i hate this white washing of raghu's every crime. it makes everything look very petty in the grand scheme of things. the definition of a gunda cant be a pocket mar. it needs to have some depth. in the very beginning of the show, there was depth. when there were gang wars shown, extortion, kidnapping etc, which is why we are still more compassionate towards raghu than dhanak in the show. because the depth of his criminality is what proves how far he has come just for the sake of love. I would rather there was more to it. I'd have preferred him to have more bad habits- alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, gambling, womanizing- some combination of it all. the more the show makes light of raghu's dark past, the worse Dhanak is for choosing her duty over her love. Dhanak's morality seems demonizing because her dilemma doesnt feel real. Her role constantly degrades and haunts raghu for no fault of his own and yet shes not willing to make a choice- police ya pati. if i knew that raghu committed terrible crimes before but has come far from that but dhanak still has to grapple with his past and save him then perhaps i'd feel more sympathetic. but she will not care at all to actually speak to him before convicting him in a manslaughter AND narcotics case. its a minimum 10 year sentence btw, if not much worse- could be 20 or life. raghu bhai ki jawani k josh toh gaya jail mein tel lene, that too without actually committing any crime. so sad. dhanak has only been a terrible wife and a terrible sonbai, yet has demanded love from her in-laws. the number of times she's said maayi ek baar apna k toh dekhiye, you'd think she'd completely turn the world upside down for them. she cant even hypothetically leave a job. it makes me roll my eyes at every turn.
Now coming to the episodes, lets start with the almost suhagraat. i didnt understand any of it...did anyone else? then please explain. what did dhanak want? did she want another wedding or did she want maayi's aashirwad? and what did any of that have to do with their bedroom program? she could have just denied him saying she's not ttly ready to go all the way but she'd like to slowly build their physical relationship. that'd have been quite nice actually. would've been a good moral of the story for the tons of women who feel compelled to perform for their lovers even if they themselves arent 100% into the idea. instead she seriously showed sex ka moola to raghu to get her maayi's aashirwad? to me it felt kind of disturbing. firstly, you've been living and eating and doing various kaands in their house without maayi's aashirwad long enough. aab achanak se sex k liye aashirwad chahiye? so if she doesnt give aashirwad, will dhanak live in a sexless and eventually childless marriage for the rest of her and raghu's life? secondly, is she going to do anything at all by herself in the whole serial or is raghu going to do everything for her? police ka kaam raghu kare, gharwalon ka dil raghu jeete, dhanak ka har maang raghu pura kare- toh dhanak kya kare? sirf demands? thirdly, what is the legitimacy of these demands? she was like gun point pe shaadi nahi hoti. then why have you been sharing a bed with this dude wearing sindoor and all for months now?!? seedhe se bolo na aur thoda bhav khani hain! so juvenile!
AND how old is Dhanak? Raghu is less than 25 because saku tai has been with maayi since before raghu was born. so I figured maybe 23-24 years old? Considering they were so keen to marry sejal off, she cant be less than 21. so dhanak was being a mother to her just 2-6 years younger 'chote chote' siblings so she didnt have time for her own life? ok...kuch zyada hi nahi ho gaya? the most i can believe is that she was a mother to parag, maybe responsible for preity. sejal and her are pretty much the same age. matlab kuch bhi. but chalo she wants to experience a real wedding. toh real wedding diya. she wants to dress up and romance her husband and experience all that jazz toh thik hain.
BUT a) why right now? from what i understood- dhanak chori k gehne nahi pehne gi. par use beymani k paiso se shaadi manzoor hain? Puppy toh kuch karte nahi hain bas loan mein doobe huwe hain, Sejal ghar chalati hogi with achaar, Dhanak has literally spent every dime of every salary so far on raghu's businesses, raghu hasnt gone to work since tawde broke his thela...toh bacha kaun shaadi k kharche uthane k liye? Savitri jadhav. Unka income kahan se aati hain? Chori se! toh abhi jo madam bhari bharkam saari, gehne, mehmano ka khana peena yeh sab kar rahe hain 'haram ki kamai' se woh sab kosher? aise waqt pe aisa demand kaun karta hain? you wait for things to settle down, maybe wait till your first anniversary? pehli godh bharai? whichever comes first? b) why with forced aashirwad? Dhanak went to aayi ambabai's temple to get sindoor cos she knew maayi couldnt deny her wish then but the aashirwad raazamandi all wouldve been forced. so what would be the point of that? itna natak kiya, sindoor le aayi (well that too raghu did most of the heavy lifting- pun intended) just so maayi ko majboor kar sakhe to give aashirwad. zabardasti se liya huwa toh vardaan bhi useless hota hain aur dil se nikli huyi unintentional haye bhi shraph ban jata hain. Dhanak ko mythology parni chahiye. accha khasa tumhara program chal raha tha wahi enjoy karti behna. pati ko bolti thoda apne ghore ko lagam do and taken the romance slow. instead i have to sit through an idiotic idea of remarriage. isse accha hota seju aur aslam ki love story dikha dete, honeymoon track dikha dete, heck maayi aur dhanak ka jhagra dikha dete! this track is just...which brings me to c) why am i expected to be interested in a wedding that dhanak clearly isnt interested in?!? har do minute toh police ka kaam karti hain and then gets frustrated when someone stops her.
this brings me back to the original question- yeh track kis liye tha? the drugs ring stuff can happen even without the 'shubh vivah'! yeh serial walon ki red wedding ka bukhar kab jayega bhai? tamasha hamesha shaadi mein hi kyun honeko mangta hain? and yeh laxmi kaisi bs drug lady thi? which seasoned criminal comes to take shelter in the home of the police officer looking for her? and maayi ki bhi satakli kya? y keep laxmi in her home? surely she could keep her hidden with her underworld connections? also how does she expect to defer dhanak forever? shaadi k baad kya yeh case hawa ho jayega? surely someone as clever as maayi would know that? aur yeh raghu...dont even get me started. iske dimag mein sex k alava kuch bhi nahi rahan...which i suppose is realistic enough. men are fools. the tattoo scene was just so stupid that I could not even...not to mention unhygienic as hell! literally the purpose of that was to have a scene later when they separate where they can stare at the tattoo and both cry.
see its not that i do not see the good in this. again abrar and shruti have gr8 chemistry. im looking forward to raghu's belief in dhanak breaking, im looking forward to raghu's raw anger and this time not directed at tawde or vardi but at the right person- dhanak who has only ever disappointed him! im also looking forward to dhanak being unable to keep her vachans. god when she was like- you still think there is a need for vachans between us- i rolled my eyes so hard they went back into my head- ya there is. you would leave him if he broke off from the sath vachans and also you have kept no vachans so idk if there is a need or not. and when she was like raghu k alava dhanak ka koi astitva nahin, I died. maybe if raghu said that, i'd believe him but thats just not believable at all where dhanak is concerned. her love is hardly believable. its more of a teenage crush on a particularly helpful upperclass man on her part. what i am NOT into is all this tamjham bs thats detracting and pointless. i h8 this shaadi track that noone other than the useless P clan are invested in- raghu is invested in getting laid (fair enough. bechare ko bohut dowraya hain), maayi is interested in saving her hide and dhanak is interested in what idk but not the marriage. this track wouldve been great for the show earlier on. they shouldve invested in such romance then. but rn since they are so late in the romance game, they shouldve had a more angst driven storyline than this distraction wedding. its been boring.
