Alia Bhatt steps into a fresh project today as she begins working with daddy dearest Mahesh Bhatt. The actress kick-started the shooting schedule of Sadak 2 today. The film stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt alongside Alia. This is the first time Alia is working with her filmmaker father on a project and the second time she’ll work with Aditya. Aditya did a cameo in Alia’s film Dear Zindagi. The team is excited as the shooting began a couple of days back and today, Alia joined the team. 

Her sister Pooja Bhatt, took to Instagram to post pictures of Alia’s vanity van and all the prep that has been done to welcome Alia on the set. 

Well, with so much love on the sets of Sadak 2, we are sure this one is going to turn out to be quite a blockbuster. 

Also, the Bhatts have excelled in making memorable cinema. Sadak 2 will hit the theatres on July 10, 2020.

Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak 2 featuring Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt has been in the news of late. The film that marks Mahesh Bhatt's return to direction after a really long time is the sequel to Pooja and Sanjay's Sadak which released in 1991.

Mahesh Bhatt's Sadak 2 featuring Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt has been in the news of late. The film that marks Mahesh Bhatt's return to direction after a really long time is the sequel to Pooja and Sanjay's Sadak which released in 1991. Gulshan Grover and Makrand Deshpande also have key roles in this multi-starrer project and it makes us even more impatient to watch the film. Talking about Sadak 2, the filmmaker had earlier told Mumbai Mirror, "Sadak 2 is about love, loss and redemption. To simplify a heartfelt narrative like this is to falsify it. You would be trivialising the essence of the film by suggesting that Sadak 2 is just this."

And while you think the cast of Sadak 2 is complete with just six actors aboard, let us tell you that there's an addition to the already talented star cast of this project. Jisshu Sengupta, who was last seen in Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, has come onboard for Sadak 2. According to a reliable source close to BollywoodLife, Jisshu has been cast in a role that the filmmaker felt only he could do justice to. Apart from Manikarnika, Sengupta has been part of films like Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone's Piku, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero, Barfi, Mardaani.

Besides Jisshu, Akshay Anand, a popular face from television and films, has come aboard for Sadak 2. The actor has been a part of the entertainment industry for nearly three decades and has done several films which include Student Of The Year, Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl, Ghulam, Zakhm and others.

The list is not over yet. Priyanka Bose of Love S*x Aur Dekha has been signed for Mahesh Bhatt's directorial as well. The cast of this film has just got bigger and better. Bose is best known for her roles in Johnny Gaddaar, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Gulaab Gang, Guzaarish, Ascharya F**k It among others.

With these three actors, the star cast of Sadak 2 is completed. We are so looking forward to watching the sequel to the 1991 cult movie. Meanwhile, Alia has kickstarted the shoot of this project already and the rest are expected to begin filming soon.

Sadak 2 releases on July 10, 2020.

2nd Schedule starts next week.

The second leg of shoot goes on floors next week. The source adds, "Alia along with Aditya Roy Kapur will fly off to Ooty to kickstart the next schedule. Alia flies on the 16th and begins shoot the next day. Aditya who was busy finishing Malang, completed his look test for Sadak 2 recently at Vishesh Films' office. It will be a run-on schedule that will last for at least a few weeks now. It will primarily be about Alia and Adi's love story in the project." 

Alia has the most pivotal role along with Dutt since the second part will mostly be about this father-daughter relationship. It features an interesting ensemble of some terrific performers who play antagonists. The film will hit screens on July 10, 2020.
