Unfortunately , I haven't read it. I don't read classics. But from your description Bathsheba sounds a lot like Scarlett O hara?

Yeah! The two characters have several things in common.

Mia Corvere from Nevernight series by Jay Kristoff. She is badass and has a heart. Difficult to find both.

Jude Duarte from Folk of the Air (Cruel Prince and Wicked King). Set in a world with magical creatures, Jude is human, bereft of any power but she makes up for it by her intelligence, quick thinking and bravery.

Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice. She is my favorite Jane Austen heroine.

Mine favourite is Lana Myers from S. T. Abby's Mindf*ck series. This 5 book series is the best series that I have read so far. And right now I am re-reading it!
