Barun Sobti to star in Eros Now's Halahal

Based on the Vyapam scam, Halahal will also star Sachin Khedekar, Vijay Shrivastav and Anuradha Mukherjee.

"The team is currently shooting for the series in Amroha, Ghaziabad. Barun Sobti will play a cop and will be presented in a never-seen-before avatar. The film will mostly release by end of the year. While it is based on the Vyapam scam, the story is completely fictitious.

Vyapam scam was exposed in 2013. The case was linked to the illegal admission of candidates in professional courses and state government jobs in alleged collusion of mafia, officials and political leaders.

He is lucky, too. Recently, he has been able to act with veterans like Kay Kay Menon, Rajat Kapoor and now Sachin Khedekar... He will learn a lot from them and mature as an actor.

Hats off to Barun's choice of script!!

Imposters were employed to write papers, exam hall seating arrangements were manipulated and forged answer sheets were supplied by bribing officials.

How will ASR portray his COP image against the scam?
