CHAPTER 6
EXT: Parking Area of Basu Corporation
Anurag and Prerna were walking towards the car silently. They were just stealing glances of each other.
Prerna (in her mind)- "kal tak jab pata nahi tha ki tum mere hi Anurag ho...baat karna kitna aasaan tha. Aur aaj itni baatein hai karne ko...par kuch bol hi nahi paa rahi hun.." Anurag looked at Prerna and found her looking at him. She immediately looked away.
Anurag- "this way" and signalled her towards his car. Then he opened the car's door for her like a gentleman. She once looked at him and then sat inside the car. Then he went towards the driving side and started driving.
For sometime, they were just stealing glances. Prerna looked at Anurag and then took a deep breath as if she was getting herself to fight.
Prerna- "hum kahan ja rahe hai..?"
Anurag- "ek bahut khoobsurat jagah hai.."
After sometime they reached a place. Prerna looked around and in the meantime, Anurag came to her side and opened the door of the car for her.
Anurag- "chalo.." and they started walking
Prerna- "tumhe ye jagah yaad hai..." said seeing the park in front of her, the place which has the most beautiful memories of their childhood.
Anurag- "kaise yaad nahi hoga...ye hum dono ki favourite jagah thi..." Prerna smiled to him. They entered inside the park and sat on a bench in one corner.
Prerna- " yaad hai...hum har Sunday yahan aaya kartey thein.."
Anurag- "mujhe toh sab yaad hai...but shayad tum toh mujhe bhul hi gayi thi..."
Prerna- "aisa nahi.." but Anurag cut her off in the mid
Anurag- "pehle toh baat bhi ho jaati thi..but suddenly whoosh...gayab.." there was a little tears in his eyes. Prerna immediately squeezed his hand. Anurag at first looked at her hand and then he moved his eyes to her face.
Prerna- "I am sorry...Anu..." and they immediately hugged each other. After few seconds, they broke the hug.
Anurag- "maine tumhe kitna miss kiya...ye main tumhe bata bhi nahi sakta. Kitna kuch hota tha batane ko...par tum sunne ke liye hoti hi nahi thi" and a lone tear escaped her eyes. Anurag held her face in his palm and whipped up her tears.
Anurag- "Hey...don't cry...main tumhe rulana nahi chahta tha...hey please don't (and again he whipped up her tears)...you know na..main tumhe rotey huye nahi dekh sakta...chahe vo baat bachpan ki ho ya aaj ki..."
Prerna- "mujhe bhi toh tumse kitni saari baatein karni hoti thi...par tum hotey hi nahi thein. Pehle Kakababu se tumhare baare mein pata chal jaata tha...par baad mein toh vo nahi ho pa raha tha.."
Anurag- "baba bata rahe thein ki tum sab Hydrabad chale gaye thein...par phir wahan se gayab.." Prerna told him everything that how they moved to Mumbai.
Prerna- "acha..vo sab baatein choro na...baatao..tum wapas kab aaye.."
Anurag- "2 saal pehle..(in the meantime, a ball hit Prerna's leg)...are you fine..??" A kid came running
Prerna- "haan" the kid almost reached to them.
Kid- "didi..ball.." Prerna gave the ball to the kid with a smile and ran her fingers in his hair. And the kid ran from there.
Anurag- "I think hume yahan se chalna chahiye.."
Prerna- "yah..sure" and they started walking.
Anurag- "do you like kids??...actually tumhe abhi aise dekha...isiliye pucha.."
Prerna- "yup..I love kids...but tum kabse itni explanation dene lage.."
Anurag- "may be because...time has changed..." prerna smiled
Prerna (in her mind)- "kya waqt sach mein badal gaya hai...kya tum badal gaye ho..." Anurag weaved his hand infront of her face.
Anurag- "kahan kho gayi??"
Prerna- "nahi...kuch nahi.." and they continued walking. Suddenly Prerna's eyes fell on a Pani-puri stall at some distance and she stopped then and there.
Anurag- "kya hua?"
Prerna- "pani-puri..(and she held his hand and pulled him towards the stall)...aaj phir se competition karenge...jaise hum bachpan mein kartey thein..."
Anurag- "no..I don't want to.."
Prerna- "kyu...darr gaye..?..jaise bachpann mein haartey thein waise aaj bhi haar jaoge.."
Anurag- "First of all...Anurag Basu kisi se nahi darta...and secondly..bachpann ka badla toh aaj le lunga tumse.." Prerna smiled and looked the shopkeeper
Prerna- "bhaiya..pani-puri khilyiye aur jab tak na kahe..tab tak mat rukiyega...(she then looked at Anurag)..aaj koi phir se harna chahta hai..." anurag smiled and the shopkeeper started serving them the pani-puries. After sometime, Anurag relised that she was not able to eat, but she was eating only to win it. Then he kept the plate on the counter.
Anurag- "main ab nahi kha sakta...tum jeet gayi.." then she ate one more
Prerna- "yayiii...main jeet gayi..."and Anurag smiled.
Anurag- "ab chale.."
Prerna- "nahi..kuch meetha..khana hai..."
Anurag- "kyu...teekha lag gaya.." Prerna sheepishly smiled and nodded positively. Then they went towards his car and went to a cafe at some distance.
INT: Cafe
Then they walked inside the cafe UNITED. The cafe was lighten up with yellow light. On the walls, cups of coffee were drawn with the names of different coffee available. And a very soothing music was being played in the background.
They took a corner for themselves. A waiter came there to take the order
Waiter- "what would you like to have?" said while giving the menu. Anurag checked the menu and then he looked at Prerna.
Anurag- "Ice cream?"
Prerna- "yup" Anurag then looked at the waiter who was standing with a notepad and pen in his hand, ready to take the order.
Anurag- "a chocolate pastry and an ice cream"
Waiter- "flavor" before Prerna could say something, Anurag replied
Anurag- "vanilla"
Waiter- "thank you..." and he went from there.
Prerna- "tumhe aaj bhi yaad hai.."
Anurag- "tumse related har cheez yaad hai mujhe.." and he passed her a big smile and she doesn't knew how to react at that moment so she thought to change the topic.
Prerna- "this cafe is so beautiful.." Anurag took a look of the cafe
Anurag- "yah.." in the meantime, he felt someone's hand on his shoulder. He turned and saw that the person was Sid. Anurag stood and hugged him.
Sid- "bro, what are you doing..." but before he could complete, his eyes fell on Prerna and then he looked back at Anurag and then he looked at Prerna.
Sid(to Prerna)- "can you plz turn left (Prerna looked at Anurag) and turned left"
Anurag- "kya kar raha hai tu"
Sid- "bro...if I am not wrong...ye toh wahi ladki hai...jo tujhe airport pe mili thi.."
Anurag- "yah..." and Sid looked at Prerna
Sid- "I am sorry..btw I am Sid" and forwarded his hand for hand shake.
Prerna- "koi baat nahi...btw I am Prerna" and she shook her hand.
Sid- "Bhai..ye teri bachpann ki friend toh nahi.."
Anurag- "ye wahi hai.."
Sid- "heyyy..(and he dragged a chair from nearby and sat beside her)...janti ho Anurag tumhare baare mein kitni baat karta tha..."
Anurag- "tum dono baat karo main abhi washroom se aata hun.." and he went from there.
Prerna- "aap Anurag ke friend hai.."
Sid- "first of all...aap nahi tum...and main uska friend nahi best friend hun...but meri position tumse neeche hi hai.."
Prerna- "nahi uske life mein sabki ki ek alag hi importance hai.."
Sid- "tum usse itne wakt dur reh kar bhi kitna ache se samjhti ho.." and suddenly a phone ringed.
Sid- "Anurag apna phone yahin chor gaya.." Prerna looked at the phone and saw the name flashed on the screen was "LOVE".
