Part 8
Raman made a irritated face and spoke " won't you spare me ".
I- nope .
R- ok listen ,he is my step brother , my father's son .
Saying so he rushed towards his room ,leaving a shocked ishita behind . He close the door of his room and unbuttoned his shirt to change . He pulled out his shirt and was taking out his home cloths from the cupboard when the door flung open , he didn't turned as he know it would definitely be ishita. She walked to him and asked again to confirm " kya bola tune "( what did you just he say ).
R- youtook somuch time to understand.
I- no it took me sometime to register ,what did you just say and I came to confirm
R- yeah , what you heard is right . He is my father's son.
I- but he is of same as hour age , that mean your father was...
She couldn't complete as he answered her in mid only " yeah , her mother was his PA and they had affair before his marraige with my mother . Abhi is 11 months older than me ".
Ishita looked at him , Raman too was looking at her , she can see his gloomy face but don't know how to console him. After sometimes when she didn't got any words to console him , she cupped his face, kissed his temple and said " it's ok Rams, we can't fight with our fate. Chal don't spoil your mood , now I will not talk to him . Theek ".
Raman didn't spoke anything, just nodded . ishita patted his back and went to make food for them . After sometimes ishra were sitting in dining table with their fried rice . Ishita looked at Raman who was playing with his spoon instead of eating ,lost in his thoughts . She kept her hand over his hand , his trance broke and he immediately looked at her . Ishita caressed his hand and spoke " now I m here ,you can share your grief with me , instead of keeping it inside ."
R- what should I say , I don't want to make you sad .
I- we are friends na ..
R- yeah but...
I- Rams you are being formal , kuch to bol .
R- what?
I- ok tell me when did you found that abhi is your step brother .
Raman got silent for sometimes and closed his eyes , ishita noticed that he us remembering his old bad days . So to change the topic she spoke " achcha chod , tell me did you have any girlfri..."
She was yet to complete when she heard him , "we were in our 11th standard , it was our annual day we both were in a skit where we both were brothers . All the parents were present to see and encourage their kids but I was alone as I know of my parent willbe there when suddenly from the stage I spotted my father . I was so glad at time , I was overjoyed thinking that my papa is there to support me even thought i hadn't invited him but suddenly all my happiness was gone when I see the lady beside him ,pointing towards abhi and both were admiring him . Though I had understood but was not ready to accept that he is Abhi's father ,until Abhi ran to them and hugged them together. I was standing just in his back , my father froze when he spotted me . He walked to me but I didn't listen and ran from there . Since then I hadn't talk to abhi ."
He completed himself , ishita looked at him, his eyes were wide open ,all moist and was looking at nowhere . Ishita went close to him , wiped his unshed tears and asked " hadn't your father tried to mend your relationships ".
R- he had come sometimes but I m still not over with that scene at my school .
I- I m sorry .
R- why are you saying sorry , rather I should say sorry to you , as I disturbing you by sharing my awful life to you ."
I- don't you dare say that ,friends are tor that only. Rather I m feeling very much bad that I was not there on your side to support you. Now stop crying over past and have your food .
R- I m not feeling like eating .
I- aww Rams you are such a baby sometimes , ok let me feed you .
Saying so she took a spoon ful of rice and shoved in his mouth ,he had it with a weak smile . Ishita can see ,he was still gloomy , so to change the topic she asked again " you didn't told me about your love life , do you have any girlfriend or you like someone ."
R- nothing like that .
I- how boring are you , don't you had any crush also .
R- I had one in my 12 th class .
I- kaun thi ?
R- my biology teacher .
I- haww Rams you were behind a teacher .
R- yeah she was beautiful, don't mean that crush that I was blind in her love and all , just I liked her because she was beautiful.
I- and you didn't like any girl .
R- girl don't choose as I was scary .
Ishita laughed a loud then spoke " scary ! Kis angle se , how can they found ,such a cute and handsome boy scary ".
R- atfirst it's not cute but hot secondly I was rude and never talk to anyone ,rather use to be a disturbing element in class ,that's why girls use to be scared by me .
I- but now they are all into you , I noticed many girls drooling over you .
R- ohh is it so .
I- yeah ,I think now you will be new heartthrob of college .
R- kuch bhi , now tell me about your boyfriend.
I- I don't have any ,though a boy chased me from my first year to final year but nothing happened .
R- why , wasn't he hot .
I- no I didn't liked it .
Talking like this they completed their food ,then ishita told that she has to go to her hostel, for which Raman said " ish I have an idea ."
I- what ?
R- why are you unnecessarily paying for hostel , you can live with me .
I- no I can't.
R- why ?
I- my parent will never allow it .
R- why ?
I- because you are a boy ,they will never allow me to live with a boy .
R- I m your best friend, remember .
I- still you are a boy .
Raman made a puppy face and spoke "I feel very alone here ."
He thought for sometimes then said " ish ,have you ever thought of working ".
I- what ?
R- I mean doing job ?
I- always , but I m still studying.
R- are you crazy , there are alot of jobs . Girls boys from other places come here and work , though they have merely graduated . You are a business graduate ish ,you can get any job, if you want to .
I- is it .
R- yeah , even you can join my call centre.
I - sachchi .
R- yeah . If you want ,I can talk to my senior .
I- ok ok ,talk to him then let me know .
Ishra talked some more about the job and ishita's living arrangement as it was night job . She told that she will try to convince her parents. She then took her belongings and was leaving when Raman held her hand, she looked at him with questioning eyes when he asked " ish you won't choose abhi over me ,haina ".
Ishita looked at him deeply and asked " what ?"
R- you won't choose ...
I- I heard that , I was asking have you lost it . Why do you think that I will choose him when I m your friend .
R- my father did that , my mother left me , all the girls and boys choose him over me .
I- yeah now I recalled ,tell me why you were were fighting with him .
Ramsn didn't spoke anything just remain silent, ishita glared him and told him to speak, he remain silent for sometimes then said ," he asked me if we are together, I denied saying that we are friends ".
I- then ..
R- he then said it's good that we are not together as he likes you and want to be with you .I thought you will ...
Ishita smiled fully and spoke " ohh Rams did you even find it fight worthy , you very well know I won't choose anyone over you or say we don't choose anyone over us , we have something different which nobody will understand. It's only you and me , non can invade us.got that .
Raman nodded .
I, do no fuhuyknv to anyone, nor even abhi ,me and abhi will never happen ok .
Raman nodded like a obedient kid ,ishita kissed his cheek and spoke " now drop me to my hostel ".
R- stay na ,we will enjoy . Will go for shopping , watch movies and cook . Tujhe pata hai , tere bina kisi bhi cheez mein mazaa nahi aata . Chal ba we will enjoy like buddies which we hadn't done yet .
Ishita was thinking while Raman was giving her best puppy dog pout, sothat she could consider her request. Finally she gave up and agreed to hung out with him . That dish they enjoyed fully,went for shpping ,did crazy things in the mall , then returned home and ordered pizza . Had it while watching movie , laying lazily on couch .
Days started passing , ishita tried to avoid abhi as much as she can . She also got job in Raman's call centre and had shifted in his house.Though it took a lot of effort to convince her parents but finally they gave her permission to shift in a private appt and do job. Now both are living a very happy life with eachother but still theh were just best friends . Both were protective and possessive towards eachother but still were friends .
It was Sunday , today was ishra holiday and they were completing all the weekend works. Ishita was washing their cloths while Raman was cleaning the house and both were fighting cursing each other ,that's when the door bell rang. Raman got irritated listening to it and said " ish I m busy ,go and open the door ".
I- not happening, I m half wet and I m not going to open door in this condition .
R- tu hai hi bekaar, I m opening the door but you have to do extra work in return on this .
I- in your dreams Mister .
R- wait and watch .
Saying so he opened the door and got shocked to see the people standing outside.
