@PaachaI I like her. I probably like her more off-screen than on-screen .- and by that I mean "completely" off-screen - and not that slightly boring vibe she has going on in interviews where she sometimes seems to be getting told to restrain.
I wasn't too taken in by the sympathy wave even a few months ago - but I thought some reviewers did (and also bought into the hype of her being an amazing artist's daughter)- and held back on the criticism.

In the current times when everyone is perky and cheerful and super self-assured in public - Kya pata - once her younger sisters and their school friends debut, her quiet persona might actually stand out. But for people to be appreciative of that, and for her to sell that aspect of her personality as a "positive" , she should blossom into a damn fine actress.

@Paachaa She said, I cannot defend nepotism because I'm a product of nepotism. It doesn't make sense. That sentence is a stupid way to say it. At least I was only making fun of that.

That 'silly' debate was not that silly. She said my sister did something silly. Some people thought that was not the right thing to say for Anshula. I don't think it was taken out of context and I read the article instead of commenting by reading the topic.

I'm only talking about myself here. But yes, I agree. During Dhadak time, she got a lot of support. Maybe those people aren't supporting her vocally as much here now. Maybe their opinion changed. But I think she also got a lot of flak at that time too. It's just there was more support than flak. Now, there's less support so the flak is more visible. Also, Sara is getting fresh support so in contrast it can look like she got dumped for Sara lol But I don't think that's really the case. Jahnavi was always criticised for being plastic by those who didn't like her. That's not new either. So, basically this is what happens when someone has got fresh support and the other's has died down. The bashing is not that new.

Completely agree about this. She will have to improve leaps and bounds to make her harsh critics take note of her and applaud her. Her comparison will also be huge and she pretty well might not have delivered as per expectations which I think is fine because that is constructive criticism. But I fail to understand the change in forum dynamics when someone new enters the industry or gives a path breaking performance out of nowhere. Suddenly the one loved earlier is dropped like a hot potato and suddenly becomes overrated. It has happened with people like Deepika and Kangana as well. Don't quiet get why actors with different personalities can't coexist? I remember in the Suhana Khan cover topic, when I brought in nepotism, people made it appear like I'm getting worked up as Suhana will be a threat to Janhvi or something like that.πŸ˜† Everything boils down to some sort of jealousy and I find that very weird because sometimes I feel such posts are taunts than heartfelt posts.

Sorry for going off topic but coming to personality, I still feel that her boring, shy personality won't matter once she gives good performances.

That's just a snippet of an entire episode. Pretty sure it will make sense once heard in context though it did make sense to me though if you look at how star kids before has behaved on this nepotism debate. Although, my post wasn't directed to you.

That 'silly' debate was not that silly. She said my sister did something silly. Some people thought that was not the right thing to say for Anshula. I don't think it was taken out of context and I read the article instead of commenting by reading the topic.

Again not directed to you.I'm talking about the general perception in that topic based on one incorrect article. She did not call her sister silly or anything, she said the game was silly (I remember posting the video. Don't have the link now.) So her words were definitely taken out of context and wrongly comprehended na?

I'm only talking about myself here. But yes, I agree. During Dhadak time, she got a lot of support. Maybe those people aren't supporting her vocally as much here now. Maybe their opinion changed.

Agree. Opinions can change,no doubt about that but the thing I find weird is that how can the change be so polarizing within a gap of just six months? I still don't understand that and find it funny and weird at the same time.Like people who have literally said I love this girl back then are behaving as if she is the worst thing to have happened since sliced bread.πŸ˜†

True. And that's what I wrote in my reply above as well. It's been happening for a long time but I wonder why? Like why can't they all coexist? I'm speaking more about J here since I've followed all her interviews closely and because of the whole Sara vs Janhvi thing but I seriously wonder how support these days fade away so easily? Pretty weird and funny.

I'm not talking about the whole nepotism debate nor criticism but this sudden blatant dislike when just six months ago during Dhadak's release, the forum was going gaga over her maturity and conduct in interviews and her acceptance of her entitled life and opportunities.

What is so hard to comprehend in what she said in the roundtable teaser? This forum itself was on a bashing mode when Alia defended her entitlement saying she wants to punch people who speak about nepotism, when Saif,Kjo and Varun mocked Kangana at IIFA and said nepotism rocks, at that time, it was all 'shame on Varun, Saif', etc.
And now when someone is actually being honest about her entitlement and opportunities and saying she cannot defend it, tab usme bhi problem. πŸ˜•πŸ˜†

I swear if Sara would have said the same thing (she already has said something similar before),people would have no problem with it. I remember reading some comments in a post earlier that said Janhvi is dumb as a rock (or something like that). How? I'm yet to find one single interview where she has said anything that can be considered 'dumb' (and I have seen ALL her interviews).

Dhadak has been declared a hit by the likes of Taran Adarsh, BOI (the same guys whose numbers are posted here) yet all of a sudden, Dhadak is now an 'average' film.πŸ˜† It got the highest opening for a film starring newcomers till date yet apparently there was 'no excitement' during Dhadak's release. The kind of attention and comments Sara got online for her first film is EXACTLY the same that Janhvi got during her debut. Sara has two back to back releases so obviously she could retain the hype for a longer time.

Again, like Thugs mentioned in another topic, Janhvi good favourable reviews for her debut film like Sara. Three of the most followed reviewers of the forum-Masand,Anupama and Rangan appreciated her performance in her debut film. Same with many member reviews which are still available on the Dhadak topic and public reviews which are available on youtube. But wait, today I learnt that apparently Janhvi did not receive any praise for her performances and who the hell are these critics.πŸ˜†

Even small things like that 'my sister received rape charges' topic after the whole KWK issue, people didn't even bother watching the interview and directly went ahead calling her sly/fake because they thought she was calling Anshula silly when in the actual interview, she called the game in KWK fishy. No one bothered to read the article. Bas naam hi kaafi tha- Janhvi.πŸ˜†

And this is just a few of the many topics and posts has suddenly started cropping up all of a sudden after Sara's debut. Matlab neither she was dumb/terrible actress/bland/boring/fake/putting up an act from July to November but everything suddenly changed after KD. Usse pehle toh aww Janhvi, poor Janhvi, it's hard to dislike her because she lost her mom so young but now, sab DDLJ ke Kajol se bhi pehle palag gaye.πŸ˜†

I by no means, have written this post to discourage criticism. I'm pretty sure many people might genuinely dislike her for several reasons but nowadays, nothing that's written against her makes any sense. It doesn't even look like criticism. Any redeeming quality of Janhvi- topic mein acting ka discussion kam, surgery and plastic ke upad zyada. As if that's going to come in place of her acting capabilities.πŸ˜†

I might come across as this irritaing stan or whatever they are called but I really don't care much. I had to express the complete absurdity of this whole new paltibaaz of the forum. I mean after a point, it doesn't even make any sense. Just look at the 'which starkid will not survive' topic.πŸ˜†

And yes too many πŸ˜† in the topic- I know. But baat hi kuch aisi ho rahi hai aaj kal.

With you on the note! ... You have written all that in detail .. so don't have anymore points to add ... but completely agree ... πŸ˜†

Preach!!
Revisionism at its finest! Now Dhadak was not declared a hit movie by some peeps here (shhh bigger than Kedarnath folks. do some research), she didn't get any praises etc. Bollywood will conspire against the destiny's child Sara for the useless Janhvi. People and their sense of tribalism. Fun read. πŸ˜†

LIKE. The reason people defend Sara is because Sara's fan following comes from Saif and Kareena's. Same folks defend Kareena and Saif's W*F comments while calling Kagana, Sonam, etc DUMB BIMBOS. What Jhanvi said is completely true. She cannot defend nepotism when she's a product of nepotism.
