Saw a late night show. I have been severely underestimating how popular Ranveer is. That was a lot of whistles. 😆

As for the movie, it is one of Rohit's weaker films. I guess, Thugs was right. Rohit was so indulgent in the film, like he was making a tribute to himself in a way KJo was in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Regardless, the first hour or so is entertaining. And it is entirely because of Ranveer. It didn't show in the trailer, but damn he is good, he is the film. And I wish it had continued along the same lines. A new age Dabangg.

But the second half is pretty tasteless and Ranveer doesn't get the same opportunity to shine. Rohit just ain't smart enough to make a self-aware film like Dabangg, instead we get a very dated rape revenge track.

As for the rest, Sara Ali Khan as evident from the teasers is barely there. Whenever she is on screen, she is annoying as Kareena in Singham 2.

The cameos are super fun. I can get along with a RS crossover, but with more flying cars 😆

Watch it for Ranveer.

I feel happy for Ranveer. He acted his heart out and it shows. Also the way he unabashedly takes pride in audience validation and his obvious joy at all the accolades comes across as very endearing. He is one star who won us over not because of his looks or last name but because of his skill as an actor and sheer screen presence . First khilji and now this

Par apna Simmba argue kaha kar payega...he will go all coy and hide himself, Meenamma will easily win the argument, if any!😆

EDIT: Also don't forget her nighttime chudail wali avtaar...if nothing works, she can bring that out...Boy, is she too strong or what...for the coy and innocent Simmba! 😆

Damn. This is just making me want a movie with them so so much. 😆 Simmba will not survive that chudail avatar or her kicks. But youre right, just fluttering of her eyelashes will get him weak in the knees. Its funnier though to think about her making fun of his antics or scolding him for being such a kameena while he goes ' Yeh kisse pala para hain. Kaun hain yeh😕'
