Exclusive: Shah Rukh Khan to begin Don 3 after Saare Jahaan Se Achcha

Although his last several films including this weekend release, Zero has underperformed at the box office, disappointing fans, audiences and critics alike, Shah Rukh Khan continues to be constant work in progress. The actor who was busy with the production of Zero this entire year will soon move to his next film, Saare Jahaan Se Achcha, based on the life of India's first astronaut Rakesh Sharma. The Mahesh Mathai directorial biopic goes on floors in March and, we heard, the sets for the film are already being built at Film City.

However, Saare Jahaan Se Achcha is not the only film SRK has finalized for the year 2019. Apparently, he has also greenlighted the long-in-the-planning Don 3 and this would be the next film Khan will shoot after the Rakesh Sharma biopic. A source close to the development said, "Farhan and his team were working on the script of Don 3 for the last one and half year. They have finally locked the script and believe me, it's going to be the best of the franchise. Don 3 will have a completely different storyline, unlike Don 2which was the continuation of the first part.

The shooting schedules of Don 3 hasn't been finalized yet but the makers are hoping to roll it by August 2019 and release sometime in 2020. "SRK told Farhan to shoot Don 3 only after he is done with Saare Jahaan Se Achcha on which Farhan happily agreed as he himself has some acting commitments which need to be completed before he dives into his next directorial.

"Priyanka Chopra who played the Interpol inspector Roma in the previous parts will not star in Don 3. New characters would be introduced this time as it's set in a different realm. Having said that, there is no bad blood between Priyanka and SRK or Priyanka and Farhan. In fact, Farhan recently shared the plot of the film to Priyanka when they were shooting for The Sky Is Pink, the source said when asked whether Priyanka would be a part of Don 3.

Although Farhan and his business partner Ritesh Sidhwani have confirmed about Don 3happening in past, there was no further development on that front. Now the much-demanded film finally happening in 2019 itself is a rejoice for Shah Rukh Khan fans and we can't wait to see him as Don once again!
