these are not fictions..Lakshmibai even jumped from the wall of the fort with her horse .. the height is HUGEsuch actions are very much needed when you make biopics of warriors like Lakshmibai and Maharana pratap
This is a well known myth which has been dicussed and debated for ages by historians and researchers. Many historians have debunked the theory as well on the basis of the journal of Vishnu Godse who was at Jhansi during Lakshmibai's reign and escape. It is said that the wall leads to a slope and it's humanly impossible for a human or an animal to survive if they jump from the wall. Add to that, the myth also adds her adopted son as part of the trio who jumped facross the wall. Same goes about the myth of her going to the battlefield with her adopted son on her back. The only thing that finds mention is her escaping the fort with her son tied to her back. This is what happens when our freedom fighters are not presented as humans but as larger than life characters, thanks to storytellers, illustrations and guides roaming around forts adding tadka for the tourists. And our Bollywood period films are pretty much doing the same!
