I think he's really overrated actor who has given flops after flops. Sanju was a blockbuster just because of Sanjay Dutt otherwise if it wasn't about him, I am pretty sure it would have flopped as well. As Emraan Hashmi said, He should stop playing ladies man stereotype now. I personally hated Sanju as well, I think it was a really overrated movie and best performance was from Vicky. Tamasha had a good script but it flopped because Ranbir is just not charming and he's miles away from being called a superstar. Calling him superstar is an insult to all the superstars in the world.

the question you are asking in ur title is about him being an actor, and as an actor i dont think ranbir is overrated, he is a very good actor, for me barfi still remains his best performance

in terms of box office like any other actor rk has had flops and hits, no actor has had only hits and blockbusters continuously, i mean aamir this year had a big flop but that doesn't mean he isn't a superstar anymore

I too did not enjoy Sanju. I thought it was Raju Hirani's worst movie.

As much as I don't like RK but you can't take this away from him that he indeed is a very good actor. He actually made some poor choices for films like Besharam, Bombay Velvet but that has more to do with the script rather than his acting. I have also noticed that many people dislike him because of how he is in his personal life and I have to admit that I am actually one of them but even I have to admit that purely on the basis on acting talent, I don't think he is overrated but yeah over hyped though. The things he does become a news while if any other actor did the same thing, it would easily be passed. As far as Sanju doing well just because of Sanjay Dutt, I don't think it's possible. If it was the case, all the movies based on every other celeb should make crores which is not the c case. But then I haven't seen the movie so it would be better I don't comment.

He is one of the best actors of this generation, the way he moulds himself in every role is commendable.

Ranbir is not a superstar yet, but he's a big star. Loved across many countries. He's definitely not overrated as he's a really talented guy who can act and look amazing. He is one of Bollywood's finest for sure.

I don't think he is overrated as an actor.
As an star? yes the humongous pay check that he commands doesn't justify his BO pull.
But than if we take pay check, everyone is overrated.

As an actor? No, Ranbir hardly ever makes a wrong note.
He is one of the few actors who is actually technically sound in the industry full of gimmicks.

Ranbir he's good but he's not as good as he's made out to be. His performance in Sanju did nothing for me

Other than Barfi I've never been impressed - he said same man child in every movie just in different scenarioso

Barfi and Wake Up Sid will forever make him one of my favorite actors. He's got a terrific screen presence and a believability onscreen that can't be learned. I think he's got loads of talent and untapped potential, but I also get the sense he's not that driven (looking at you too, Kareena!).

So, to answer your question, I don't think he's overrated.
