If Babita forced Ashok to come along with him n then later if Ashok divorces then same people will say Babita is also at fault she shouldn't have insisted against his wish.
Matlab kuch bhi karo Babita is the one to be blamed 👏

Those women are still made to keep vrats and still made to feel inferior and some are still in such relationship for the sake of children. One of my close friend after many years of injustice took a stand against her inlaws but had to bear the brunt for a long time. She has stopped going to functions to keep away from unnecessary questions and stares. She is one brave women. But once upon a time she was naive and simple girl like babita. Even she got married at a tender age to a man much older. Circumstances at home did not allow her to speak up against her inlaws. If babita out of lonliness would have done what ashok did then everyone wouldd have ostracized her. Kuch galat nahi kiya phir bhi dekho logon ka vyvhaar uski taraf. First let the society change their attitude towards women. In reality there are no hanuman singhs. Even if they help they have their own hidden agenda. Today babita can speak up because she has one brave daughter like mini. Babita has reared one brave girl who supports her inspite of everything, babita has got the punishment for being a good selfless woman😒

i know one such person very closely. She was treated like a widow since she was divorced . no one invited her luckily for her though her parents did not support her her brother and best friend did and she had a job somehow with their help she moved on. Finally at 35 she found another partner and has a child about 2 years old

She is a woman who earns well well educated but if u hear what all she went thru after the divorce its too sad

Was ashok joking when he was talking about perfection/imperfection. Sorry to say but men always look for perfection in wife while imperfections are acceptable only in girlfriends. Zara mita ko uski wife banne do see how he will change colours like chameleon😆

The UK issue referenced in BBC News refers to forced marriages between UK born women and foreign (including Indian and Pakistani) men. It's further complicated by the fact that some segments of resident Indian society see Indian women born overseas as sly or loose or lesser; and so these women aren't respected by the families they marry into.

The show refers to the wife abandonment problem in the Punjab (particularly the Pinds but you see it in Pakistani Punjab too) that Hanuman Singh has already referenced in an early episode. It's about NRI men marrying Indian women to look after their Indian families, while they date / marry other people in their country of residence.

A third issue exists with NRI families marrying sons to Indian women because they are viewed as less picky about behaviour and easy to abuse / break but I don' t think I have seen a show that portrays this on Indian TV yet. There are some great ones from the UK if anyone's interested.

Judging by what I can see on the show, we are also seeing a treatise on how arranged marriages / certain practices may have been fine for certain generations, but things now need to change. Young people should not be expected to strangle their desires for duty. Example: how different would Ashok and Lovely's lives had been if Beeji had been educated and set up a lucrative business to support the family?

That's so sad that they treated her like that. In my husband's family it seems every third person is divorced or seperated but the women who had jobs that allowed them to support themselves tended to have happier and more successful lives. Having a job and an independant income is vital for women. Even when Narendra Modi left his wife, she painstakingly rebuilt her respectability back through her work as a teacher. I can't wait for Babita to do something similar.

I wish they could show more of the separation part. Then things would be clear.
And yeah, can't wait for Babita to hold herself upright.😳

The news shown in UK BBC is about the wife abandonment only.

I m there in those groups in fb where either the person who suffered or their closed ones share their stories.

Just few weeks before, there was huge amount of protest.
They even demanded to cancel such Visas.
It's a hot topic n not a fantasy case which Pb is showing.
Just google u will find losts of articles, videos etc.
I am talking on the issue since I know the gravity of the issue,it may not have happened to me but I don't turn blind eye towards the people it's happening.
Everyone is not the same i may come from a much more supportive & progessive society/family but that's not the case for everyone.

In one of the episode of Satyamev it was shown how a wife was harassed, physically abused n kept in house arrest in the US that to by an educated husband.
There were cases of 9-10 abortions done to a women just cos she was boaring a female.

We live in a country were rapists won't be sympathised but the culprit will be.
So many tried to blame the Nirbhaya case victim saying she shouldn't have left the house this late, should not have travelled with her friend(Questions were even raised on her friend)

Here's the link to the BBC VIDEO on wife abandonment
https://youtu.be/k6OmhfOgj_4

@divya di Can't agree more with you n the above are the worst & shameless examples where whatever happens women are to be blamed n more than men it's women who will blame them .
