The fear in eyes of an innocent hen at the time of slaughter is gut wrenching.

Also let's be practical, food choices have also got to do a lot with the georgaphy you belong to. That decided the eating habit. Animal husbandry has been a part of many states in the country for years and things have just been passed down from one generation to another. I belong to a region where fisheries is one of the biggest occupations of the state and contributes to the economy of the state. Even geography wise, the thing found in abundance in the region I belong to is fish because of the presence of rivers there. So eating fish automatically becomes a habit. Just like rice. There's nothing there about having a choice or being compassionate, it is just helping the food chain of that region work properly.
Coming to adapting veganism, let's be practical, it's not possible in a country like India except for those with high purchasing power. And they are the 'class', not 'mass'.Until and unless there are cheaper alternatives to the high priced ingredients used in vegan good, vegan is going to be an unfulfilled dream in the country.

What the 😆 Because those animals are reared for food. Human beings are reared for budape ka sahara.

The comments here trying to guilt trip people 😆 Its what I've implied in the beginning. A sense of superiority and how everyone who isnt vegan is doing some major crime. And going as far as calling it an addiction. Lmao.

Same. I haven't seen any superiority in Vegetarian people. But rather we are made to feel so stupid and always bullied around. Made fun of. And always being asked same bokwas questions.

I think these depends on what kind of environment you are.
Indian pure vegetarians are kinda more tolerable, but some of these woken vegetarians(converts) are plain annoying and bullies.

While if you're a lone vegetarian among non-vegs, you kinda get mocked and sometimes even bullied.

I am that lone warrior in group of non- veg eating friends. Are I don't have issue, eat whatever is your liking. My husband eats. Just don't tell me what to eat. Ek friend toh bas har waqt you don't know what you are missing. Are jana bhai.. Kuch missing nahi hai. I am happy. Par jab he overdoes it.. tab toh even I start eeww eeww at his food. 😆

😆

We also have one guy who is totally veggie, so whenever we are together, I always eat veggies to give the poor guy company.
But that also means, I again eat non-veg with other friends. 🤣

Although being from the nautanki Brahmin family, it is ridiculous, that my family is okay with goat meat and chicken(although granny considers it untouchable), but pig and beef are no no. I am like what!
Although I find it bullshit, never touched them thinking why hurt them.

Everyone on this planet has a persecution complex. Be it vegans, Vegetarians or Non Vegetarians. 😛
