Chapter 87

Thankfully, Riddhima came back to her room after her date with Armaan with none the wiser as all the occupants in her room kept sleeping, not moving even a little as she changed into her pyjamas and went to bed herself.

 

Over the next couple of days, they explored Goa and did lots of touristy things. Not everyone was up for all the trips, especially it included so many educational stops and visits to heritage sites, but Nikki was excited because these were the places she could visit and have fun at, so they all sucked it up. She'd been really bummed about not being able to do the water sports or get a tattoo, plus she was so emotional with all those pregnancy hormones and no one wanted to cross her and get on her bad side. So, they kept quiet and did it all.

 

They went to the Goa State Museum, rich in history and beautiful in it's architecture, where Armaan learned how much of a history geek his Basket really was. She wanted to know the story behind every little exhibit they saw and the tour lasted much longer than it should have because of her questions. Armaan had a feeling they would've spent the entire day there had Anjali not reigned Riddhima in and reminded her that they had other places to visit and they were not going to stay in Goa for the rest of their lives, so they didn't have the time to accommodate her fancies. Riddhima pouted about it for some time as they breezed through the remaining exhibits but wisely kept her mouth shut. For being so good, he got her a bunch of daisies when they were done. That brought a smile to her face.

 

Her mood brightened further when they arrived at their next stop - the Chapora Fort. Apparently it had been a watch point for the Portuguese and was important for historical reasons. Armaan liked it because it overlooked beaches. They all clicked hundreds of thousands of pictures there (Armaan knew he was exaggerating, but they did click a lot of pictures!). They had group pictures and couple pictures and all the girls together and the boys together and everyone with everyone in duos & trios and whole lot of other posey pictures that he couldn't keep track of. He also has a sneaking suspicion that Abhi had clicked candids while everyone was posing for others. But, when time passed and they looked back, these pictures would be revive beautiful memories, that Armaan was sure of.

 

They visited the Dona Paula Jetty with it's amazing restaurants and beautiful sites. The couples separated there and enjoyed some alone time - roaming hand in hand and taking in the view, eating at intimate and aesthetic restaurants. It was a good break from the chaos of being in a huge group all the time, and everyone really appreciated it.

 

There was a stop at The Mangueshi Temple that was known for its brilliant architecture. The ambience at the temple was very calming and peaceful. It brought Riddhima serenity she didn't know she could feel. She'd prayed for a happy life with Armaan, and she felt that god had just granted her wish, which made her so very grateful that she couldn't put it in words. It felt like her entire world changed after that one visit. They also went to the famous Basilica of Bom Jesus and lit candles at the altar of God.

 

Then, they took a mini safari at the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary. Nikki and Atul were in heaven during this particular excursion. They yapped on and on, talking about all sorts of animals they were excited to see, how amazing the whole thing was and just how happy they were to be there.

 

There was a trip to the Dudhsagar Falls, ensconced by forests everywhere, nature at its absolute finest. It was so very beautiful and gorgeous. The water felt amazing, surprisingly warm despite the cold winter air. They all played in the water there, having fun and frolicking around. Lots of pictures were clicked there too, not only of themselves, but also of the scenic beauty around them.

 

Of course, the trip couldn't be complete without a trip to Palolem. It was a secluded and quiet beach, which was a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of Vagator and Anjuna and Baga. And, there was dolphin watching! It was definitely the most favourite part of the entire trip for many of them.

 

In all this, Armaan never forgot his promise to Riddhima and the two went off on their own early in the morning to enjoy at least one water sport everyday before the entire gang left for their excursions and trips. Anjali joined them on a couple occasions, as did Muskaan and Rahul, but, those trips were more for Riddhima than anyone else and so, the others were left to their own devices as Armaan showered all his attention on Riddhima.

 

They went to a couple of clubs, just because they were in Goa, but with Nikki's pregnancy, the kids, and Atul, Abhi, and Riddhima not drinking, those outings were kept to a bare minimum.

 

And now, here they were. Their last day in Goa!! None of them wanted to leave the place, but real life was calling and so they had to go back.

 

Most of the day was spent lounging at the hotel and relaxing. They played in the pool, visited the fort nearby and walked on the beach that was just outside. Come evening, though, Anjali had the most brilliant idea' and she just NEEDED to do it before they left. Apparently, there was a boat party nearby and they absolutely had to go!

 

"Come on!! It'll be so much fun!" She insisted.

 

"Haan, Anjy! Tu sahi keh rahi hai. Main pehle kabhi koi boat party pe nahi gayi hu! Bohot mazaa aayega," Muskaan agreed.

 

"Arre... But..." Rahul tried to protest, but was stopped by Muskaan.

 

"Oyye, kaankhajure! Tu kuch mat bol. Hum chal rahe hain. Bas!" Muskaan reprimanded, ending any issues Rahul might have had.

 

"Ab Anjali keh rahi hai toh mazaa hi aayega! Chalo na!!" Atul added his two cents in.

 

"Tu! Anjali ke chamche. Chup reh!" Armaan said. "Anjy! Abhi... Yaar, let's just chill."

 

He was in no mood to leave the hotel.

 

"Armaan!! Please! It'll be so much fun! Tu bata... Tune kabhi yacht party ki hai kya?" Nikki asked.

 

"Nahi... but... yaar, woh toh hum Mumbai mein bhi kar sakte hain!" Armaan replied.

 

"Oyyeee, gadhe! Waise toh wahaan hum sab kuch kar sakte hain. Beach bhi hai, clubs bhi hai, restaurants bhi hai, aur water sports bhi. Toh Goa kyu aaya, idiot?" Muskaan fired.

 

"Abbe! Muskaan! Shaant ho ja. Itna bhadak kyu rahi hai?" Rahul asked, annoyed. "Sab teri tarah nahi hote. Kisi ko nahi jaana toh nahi jaana na!"

 

"Tu... tu beech mein kyu bol raha hai? Maine tere se baat ki kya? Nahi na! Apne bakwaas comments apne paas rakh!" Muskaan told him.

 

"Lekin, Di... Abhi... Kal subah humaari flight hai," Riddhima reminded.

 

"Haan, Riddhima sahi keh rahi hai," Dr. Keerti seconded. "I don't think humein kahin jaana chahiye."

 

"But, ma'am!" Anjali whined. "Kitna mazaa aayega! Aur upar se... It's a family friendly party. Hum Navu & Samrat ko bhi leke jaa sakte hain!"

 

"SACHI?" Navneeta, who'd been quiet during the discussion, shrieked.

 

Anjali nodded.

 

"Yayayay!!" She celebrated. Turning to Dr. Shubhankar, she pleaded, "Please, please, please! Papa! Please! Chalo na. Chalte hain!! Please!!"

 

Dr. Shubhankar, who couldn't deny his daughter anything, smiled sheepishly at Dr. Keerti. "Keerti, chalo na. Navu ko aise party pe jaane ka chance phir kab milega?" He asked.

 

Dr. Keerti sighed dramatically. "Fine!" She relented.

 

That settled, everyone turned to Armaan & Riddhima, who were the only ones protesting still.

 

"Ridzy! Chal na! Tu chalegi toh yeh Majnu ki aulad apne aap haan bol dega!" Nikki pouted. "Kitna mazaa aayega! Please!!"

 

"Haan, Ridzy! Please!!" Muskaan seconded.

 

Armaan furiously shook his head, trying to get Riddhima to say no. If these idiots went away, he could hang out with her all evening without any interruptions. That sounded heavenly.

 

Riddhima looked at him helplessly, not knowing what to do. She wasn't particularly interested in going, but everyone was so excited and she didn't want to be a spoilsport.

 

"Ridzy! Tu iss idiot ki taraf mat dekh. Tu humaare saath chalegi na? Please!" Anjali interrupted whatever stare off the two were having.

 

"Di..." Riddhima tried to say something, but didn't get a chance to finish before Anjali was talking again.

 

"Dekh, tu nahi jaayegi toh main bhi nahi jaaungi," Anjy announced.

 

"Anjy! Aisa mat bol, yaar! Tu nahi jaayegi toh main bhi nahi jaaungi!" Muskaan added.

 

"Jab tum sab jaana hi nahi chaahte, toh theek hai. Rehne do. Koi nahi jaayega. Waise bhi, tum sab ne toh itna enjoy kar liya na. Water sports, seafood, tattoos. Bas, main hi akeli reh gayi. Socha tha ki yacht party pe main bhi thoda enjoy kar lungi. Lekin theek hai. Koi jaana hi nahi chaahta," Nikki ranted dramatically.

 

"Oyye, Nikki! Itni overacting mat kar. Aur apna ghisa pita drama kahin aur le jaa. Itna emotional blackmail karne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Chalo, chalte hain, tumhaari iss stupid yacht party pe," Armaan declared.

 

"Yay!" The girls cheered.

 

"Chalo! Let's go get ready!" Anjali announced. Everyone agreed and left for their respective rooms, except Armaan, who had to go to the hotel reception to finish some formalities.

 

Inside the girls' room was nothing short of pandemonium as they fought over who got to use the washroom first. After about 15 minutes, the girls were still fighting and Riddhima, irritated by all of it, left the room, wanting some peace and quiet.

 

Just outside, she bumped into Navneeta.

 

"Arre, Navu! Tum yahaan? Aur ready bhi ho gayi? Wow!" Riddhima exclaimed.

 

She was dressed in a cute sweater and jeans, looking so very adorable.

 

"Haan, Di," Navneeta answered. "Main na... actually aap logon ke room mein hi aa rahi thi. Woh, aap sab itne saare ho na. Aur hum sab almost ready hi hain. Main aur Papa toh ho bhi gaye. Aur Samrat ko bhi Mumma ne ready kar diya. Woh bhi 5 minutes mein ho jaayengi. Toh aap log humaara room use kar sakte ho."

 

"Awww! Thank you, Navu!!" Riddhima exclaimed. "Main dekhti hu."

 

"Okay! Bye!!" Navneeta screeched as she ran away somewhere in the hotel. Riddhima shook her head fondly at the girl and went inside the room.

 

Stuff seemed to have calmed down and Nikki was in the bathroom, having used the I'm pregnant card, Riddhima was sure, and Muskaan was sulking in the corner.

 

"Ummm, Navu aayi thi," she said. "Hum log Dr. Keerti ka bathroom use kar sakte hain."

 

Anjali and Muskaan looked at each other skeptically.

 

"Ridzyyy. Woh bohot awkward nahi hoga?" Anjali asked.

 

"Di! Isme awkward ki kya baat? Aur agar aap ko lag raha hai, toh Muski chali jaayegi. Usse toh itni jaldi hai ready hone ki. Aur woh toh pehle Dr. Keerti ke saath rehti bhi thi. Right, Muski? Tu jaa sakti hai!" Riddhima said.

 

"Lekin, Ridzy! Tab Dr. Keerti married nahi thi na. Ab na... Ab mujhe bohot awkward lagega. Ummm... Tu... tu chali jaa na! Tu toh waise bhi unke ghar itna aati - jaati hai. I'm sure tujhe bilkul awkward nahi lagega," Muskaan replied.

 

"Are you sure?" Riddhima confirmed.

 

Muskaan nodded. "Haan, pakka!"

 

"Okay!" Riddhima replied.

 

"Ridzy!" Anjali said, "Hum sab jumpsuits pehen rahe hain! Toh tu bhi wohi pehen na."

 

"Di, main toh lekar nahi aayi hu," Riddhima answered, dejected.

 

"Tu kitna tension leti hai, Ridzy! Tere paas nahi hai toh kya hua! Uss din... trip pe aane se pehle main jaldi free ho gayi thi toh shopping gayi thi. Tab maine liya tha tere liye jumpsuit. Ruk. Wahi pehen lena," Anjali replied.

 

"Di!" Riddhima exclaimed. "You're the best!!"

 

Anjali grinned. She gave Riddhima a pretty jumpsuit. Riddhima gave Anjali a big hug and gathered her stuff before leaving for Dr. Keerti's room.

 

"Oh! Hi, Riddhima!" Dr. Keerti greeted her. "Achcha hua tum aa gayi. Uh... hum sab toh ready hain, toh tum room use kar sakti ho. Waise... Samrat thoda stuffy feel kar raha hai toh main usse thode time ke liye bahar le jaa rahi hu aur Shubhankar bhi hotel mein ghoom rahe hain. Toh, tumhe koi disturb nahi karega."

 

Riddhima smiled. "Thank you, ma'am!"

 

Dr. Keerti smiled and left with Samrat. Ecstatic to get some alone time, finally, Riddhima lounged around the room for sometime, positive that she'd get ready way before the other girls, who were no doubt still fighting over bathrooms and make up. She called Muskaan, hoping that she'd come here once she knew the room was empty, but no one answered their phones, so she let it be.

 

She lazed for a while before getting into the shower. The warm water felt so very amazing and she might have spent a little longer than necessary inside. She hadn't gotten a nice, warm, long shower since they'd come to Goa because there was never enough time for one, and someone or the other would always be banging on the bathroom door yelling at her to come out already, so there hadn't been a good shower in almost 5 days. Now that she had the opportunity, she was gonna utilize it fully.

 

When she was done, she dressed in the jumpsuit that Anjali had given her and wore the heart pendant Armaan had gifted her so long ago, along with the charm bracelet he'd presented to her in Paris. She completed her look with the shoes he'd given her the day he'd proposed. After applying some make-up, she dumped all her discarded clothes in a bag and made her way to her own room, making sure to lock Dr. Keerti's room properly.

 

 

She was absolutely surprised to see that her room was completely abandoned. None of the girls were in there. She couldn't believe they'd gotten dressed so quickly. Sure, she'd taken her time in the shower but she didn't think she'd taken that long. She checked her watch and frowned. She'd only taken half an hour. How had these girls gotten dressed so quick?

 

Well, Muskaan and Nikki did seem over enthusiastic about the whole thing after Anjali had told them about it, so maybe they'd dressed in a hurry to get to the party. But, she was surprised that no one had sought her out. Or, had they and she hadn't heard because she was in the shower?

 

Confused, she made her way to the boys' room, hoping to find someone there.

 

Armaan opened the door, looking absolutely dashing in a casual blue suit.

 

 

A smile lit up his face on seeing Riddhima standing there.

 

"Hey, gorgeous!" He greeted her, as his arms shot out and wrapped around her waist, pulling her close.

 

"Hey!" She replied.

 

"Mmm," he hummed, nuzzling her neck. "You look gorgeous."

 

Riddhima rolled her eyes. "Tumhe toh hamesha hi aisa lagta hai. So biased."

 

"Whatever," Armaan replied, hugging her closer.

 

"Armaan!" Riddhima mumbled.

 

"Hmmm," he replied.

 

"Armaan!" She rebuffed. "Koi aa jaayega. Chodo!"

 

Armaan scoffed. "Koi nahi aa raha," he replied, rolling his eyes.

 

"What?" She asked, confused. "Kahaan hai sab?" She continued, pulling back.

 

Armaan immediately tightened his hold before saying, "Arre... Woh Muskaan aur Nikki. Tumhe pata haina kaise hai dono. Rahul ka call aaya tha mujhe 10 minute pehle. Woh log itne excited the toh sabko kheech ke le gaye. Tumhe bulaya lekin tum aayi nahi toh tumhe chodke chale gaye. Aur main toh waise bhi reception pe thodi formalities poori kar raha tha, toh ready hi nahi tha. Toh Muskaan ne kaha tumhe lekar aa jau aur woh log jaa rahe hain."

 

"Arre!! Aise kaise chale gaye woh log? Hum bhi toh hain! This is not fair!" Riddhima cribbed.

 

"Oho, Basket!" Armaan soothed. "Tum iss mein negative hi dekho. Aise socho... ki ab koi humein disturb karne wala bhi nahi hai," he whispered lowly in her ear, placing a kiss there.

 

"Tum kabhi kisi aur cheez ke baare mein sochte ho?" She asked.

 

"Never," came the prompt reply.

 

Riddhima made a face at him. "Armaan, abhi ke liye please chalte hain! Kal subah flight hai, toh humein jaldi waapas bhi toh aana hai! Aur wahaan... Party mein sab humaare bina enjoy kar rahe honge!"

 

"Hum yahaan enjoy karenge na, baby! Party of you and me!" Armaan replied, grinning salaciously.

 

"Shut up!" Riddhima scolded, swatting his chest. Before she could say anything else, his phone rung.

 

Armaan checked the caller ID. It was Anjali.

 

"Saali mere pyaar ki dushman! Sach mein, tumhaari behen aur tumhaare papa. Dono ke paas radar hai, radar. Hamesha pata chal jaata hai ki hum dono akele hain!" He cribbed.

 

"Armaan!! Tum Papa aur Di ke baare mein kuch mat bolo!" She rebuked.

 

Armaan rolled his eyes and answered the call.

 

"Yes, Anjy! Bolo, kya kar sakta hu tumhaare liye?" He asked.

 

"Armaan! Hum kabse tumhaara wait kar rahe hain! Kahaan ho tum? Aur Ridzy? Jaldi aao!" Anjali replied.

 

"Haan, bas. Aa rahe hain. Riddhima abhi ready hui hai," Armaan answered.

 

"Jaldi karo! Tum dono sach mein bohot time waste karte ho," Anjali complained.

 

"Main?!?!" Armaan scoffed. "No, no. Woh toh tumhaari laadli behen itna time leti hai."

 

"Shut up, Armaan!" Riddhima and Anjali cried at the same time. Riddhima hit his arm.

 

"Aau!" Armaan yelped. "Yaar, tum kitna zor se maarti ho," he complained to Riddhima.

 

She just shrugged.

 

"Dekho, ab agar next 10 minutes mein tum dono yahaan nahi aaye, toh main wahaan aa jaungi aur zabardasti kheech ke tumhe party mein le aaungi. Samjhe?" Anjali threatened.

 

"Haan, Anjali! Hum aa rahe hain!" Armaan answered. "Bas 5 minute."

 

"Good," saying so, Anjali hung up.

 

Armaan made a face. "Ek toh pehle khud jaane ki itni jaldi thi ki humaara wait nahi kiya, aur ab phone pe dhamki de rahi hai!" He muttered.

 

"Pch, Armaan! Tum kitna complain karte ho! Chalo na, chalte hain!" Riddhima said.

 

He pouted, but agreed. "Fine. Bas, 2 minutes," saying so, he pulled her inside the room with him.

 

After dousing some perfume, setting his hair, and wearing his shoes, Armaan was ready, and was promptly shoved out the door by an impatient Riddhima.

 

"Basket!" He chuckled. "Tum kitni impatient ho, yaar. Chal rahe haina."

 

"Wohi toh. Hum abhi tak bas chal rahe hain. Baaki sab already chale gaye! Isliye jaldi chalo," Riddhima replied.

 

Armaan laughed at her explanation, but nonetheless quickened his pace as the two walked to the beach beside their hotel where the yacht had docked. It would be leaving in half an hour, from what he knew, but his impatient friends had already attacked the boat.

 

"There it is!" Riddhima squealed, pointing at the yacht a little ways away into the water. Sure enough, Armaan could see a brilliantly lit boat, but it seemed much too small to have a huge party. How had Anjali managed to get an invite to this intimate, family yacht party was something Armaan was having a hard time figuring out.

 

But, of course, there was no time to mull it over as Riddhima shoved him into a jetty nearby, so that they could sail to the yacht.

 

The couple, extremely excited, got on-board the yacht and were directed to the mini ball room/banquet hall type thing in the middle of the yacht. But, of course, nothing could have prepared them for waited for them there.

 

"SURPRISE!! CONGRATULATIONS!!" Everyone shouted as soon as they entered.

 

Armaan & Riddhima stared, gobsmacked. It was a surprise engagement party. No, it was their surprise engagement party.

Now coming to the part, Yaar it was amaze like legit! One of the funniest ought to be the one at the museum and the way Anjali had to stop Ridhima from getting so excited and how She pouted throughput and after that when Armaan bough her the daisies just cuz she had been such a good girl ;) it was such a cute moment Yaar!
Then of course he had to keep his promise of the watersports cuz he is Armaan, nuf said!

Then my most favourite (I am sure you know it) was the AR moment before the party...(also I loved the outfits) it was so beautifully written and so AR's! Absolutely adored it! Then finally the surprise party for AR...that was so sweet Yaar!

Absolutely can't wait to read further and I am sure you know the drill :p (also Vaise the story is going so well that even if you don't remember or add it I won't mind, but because I am one greedy reader I will still try my Kuch and remind you that you have promised me to write a particular scene :p)
