Armaan & Muskaan drop RidRahul off at the airport. Rahul soothes Riddhima's worries. Armaan starts planning a surprise for Riddhima with Anjali's help.

Chapter 102

"Are you absolutely sure?" Rahul asked Riddhima. The two of them were standing at the gates of the Mallik Residence in Delhi. Rahul felt awkward arriving the way they had, without any prior notice.

"Of course, Rahul! It's a surprise. Kisi ko bataa ke surprise thodi dete hain!" Riddhima replied. "Relax. It's just mom and dad. Woh humein dekhke khush hi honge. Aur bilkul awkward nahi hoga."

"Fine," he sighed. "If you say so. Lekin agar awkward hua toh main hotel mein shift ho jaunga."

"Haan, baba. Theek hai! Chale jaana. But abhi ke liye thoda relax kar!" She said. Turning, she rang the doorbell.

The two of them waited patiently for someone to get the door. Well, Riddhima did anyway. Rahul fidgeted some more. For all the times he just showed up at Armaan's house and stayed there as if he owned it, he was really uncomfortable doing that with his parents. It was true that he'd always had fun hanging out with them, ever since he'd met them (awkward shenanigans not included) and it had been pleasant getting to know them better while planning Armaan & Riddhima's engagement, but there was still that hesitance present.

But, of course, Riddhima had no such qualms. Despite everything that had happened, or maybe because of it, Armaan & Riddhima behaved like a married couple already. And Rahul felt that in the truest sense of the word, both Billy Uncle & Annie Aunty had already accepted Riddhima into their fold. For all four of them, the actual wedding was just a societal norm that they had to fulfil to bring Riddhima home. She already was family for them. Already a Mallik. The thought warmed his heart. He was so happy that Riddhima had found such a loving family on top of such a loving partner. She deserved it.

He wished that he and his family could be for Muskaan what the Malliks were for Riddhima. If they were successful to a tenth of that, he’d be a very happy man. He knew his parents were amazing, and were happy for him and Muskaan, but he was still skeptical about them accepting her as wholeheartedly as the Malliks had accepted Riddhima. The Indian mindset was such that the in-laws took very long to accept their daughters - in - law as part of their family, especially so in case of a love marriage. He hoped the fact that Muskaan had also been his parents first choice for him would help, but with Indian parents, especially mothers, you could never be sure.

Still, he hoped. So far, things had been going good. His parents had spoken to Muskaan a few times since they'd gotten together and all the conversations had been pleasant, if a little awkward. He knew that Muskaan had discussed this with Riddhima because even she admired the relationship Riddhima had with the Mallik parents. There was also the fact that Riddhima knew his parents really well and could provide insights to her. Which, he supposed she had. It really warmed his heart to see Muskaan and Riddhima interact. He'd always hoped his life partner would share a very great relationship with his little sister. After his Chutki had passed away, he'd never thought that would be possible. But now, with Riddhima in his life, so unexpectedly filling part of the void that Chutki had left behind, he'd started dreaming again. Muskaan & Riddhima had always been close and Rahul had admired their friendship, but this was different. To him, it was a pretty significant difference even if others didn't see it.

And, he’d seen them fall into that relationship pretty seamlessly after they’d returned from Goa. It was the little things, that he didn’t think anyone else noticed. The way Muskaan would hug Riddhima just a little tighter every morning, and throw Rahul a smile as she did it. The way Riddhima would crib about not having enough time with Muskaan. The way Riddhima would randomly bring Muskaan her favourite lunch, or how Muskaan would buy Riddhima stuff for no reason. They both somehow just knew that their relationship was different now. They weren’t just best friends. They were sisters. And for that, he was so happy.

“Riddhima beta?” An elderly man asked, opening the door, pulling Rahul out of his thoughts.

"Roshan Uncle! Kaise hain?" Riddhima asked, bending down to take his blessings. He'd been with the Malliks for a long time. Their domestic help since years now. When Riddhima had stayed over, she'd forged a bond with everyone in the household. And Roshan Uncle as she called him, was one of them.

"Main toh bilkul theek hoon! Tum kaisi ho?" He questioned.

"Kaisi lag rahi hoon?" She asked, doing a little twirl.

"Bilkul badhiya!" He exclaimed.

"Toh bas…. Bilkul badhiya hi hoon!" She answered.

"Chalo!! Billy Bhaiya aur Ananya Bhabhi bohot khush honge tumhe dekhke. Dono tumhe bohot yaad karte hain!" He said, making conversation as he guided Riddhima and Rahul inside.

"Main bhi unhe bohot yaad karti hoon!" Riddhima replied. "Uncle… yeh mera aur Armaan ka dost hai, Rahul. Yeh bhi aaya hai mere saath."

Roshan Uncle smiled. "Armaan Baba nahi aaye?"

Riddhima shook her head. "Nahi. Usse hospital se chutti hi nahi mili. Isliye iss baar nahi aaya. Bas main aur Rahul hi aaye hain."

Roshan Uncle nodded in understanding. Him & Riddhima made some more small talk, but Rahul was busy in admiring the house. It was huge, that was a given. It was very tastefully done with a lot of thought behind the aesthetic. Annie Aunty always did have a good knack for this stuff but he could see little things here and there that he was sure were courtesy of Riddhima. The thought made him smile.

"Riddhi!!" Billy Uncle screamed, pulling Rahul out of his musings. He turned just in time to see Riddhima being pulled into a bone crushing hug.

"I missed you!" Billy Uncle moaned.

"I missed you, too, Dad!" Riddhima replied. And she had. So very much. Mom & Dad had become just as important to her as her own parents and she'd missed having them around in the past few weeks. She'd gotten used to hanging out with them while they were in Mumbai - random dinners, sometimes even lunch, going out for walks on occasion - and when they'd left after the engagement, it had been difficult for her for a while.

She missed the easy camaraderie they'd shared, the hours they'd talk, the way they all teamed up to tease Armaan, the way they never made her feel like an outsider. They had become a family, in the truest sense of the word, in the time Billy & Ananya had spent in Mumbai, and nothing could make up for their absence. Video calls were nice, but they weren't the same.

Billy pulled back and dropped a soft kiss on her forehead. Riddhima was the daughter of his heart, one of the most important people in his life, and he'd missed her soothing presence in his everyday life so much. In many ways, it was Riddhima who had made him understand what it was like to be a father. He'd made many mistakes where Armaan was concerned. He'd never been a good father. But with Riddhima, he'd learnt. Now, he could proudly say that he was a somewhat decent dad to both his children.

"Riddhi?" Ananya called out. "What a pleasant surprise!!"

"Mom!" Riddhima exclaimed, pulling her into a hug as well. "I missed you!"

"I missed you, too, bachcha!" Ananya replied.

"Kaise ho aap?" Riddhima asked.

"Tumhaare Dad ki wajah se pareshaan hoon, but other than that… first class!" Ananya responded.

Billy, who had been hugging Rahul, pulled back from him and looked up. "Main? Main pareshaan karta hoon?"

"Aur nahi toh kya koi aur karta hai?" Ananya taunted. Turning to Riddhima, she added, "Tumhe pata haina… fried khana strictly mana hai but obviously Mr. Balwinder Mallik ko toh uske alawa kuch khana hi nahi hota."

"Very bad, Billy! Aap Ananya Aunty ko aise pareshaan kyu karte hain?" Rahul piped in cheekily. Billy glared at him.

"Stop it, Billy! Usse aise kyu dekh rahe ho? Rahul is absolutely right!" Ananya said. She hugged him as well.

"Tum dono, yahaan kaise? Iss tarah achanak? Bataya bhi nahi! Kal hi meri Padma se baat hui. Usne bhi kuch nahi bataya!" She fired questions.

"Bata diya hota toh surprise thodi hota," Riddhima replied. "Aur main aap dono ko surprise dena chaahti thi. Isliye kisi ko bhi batane nahi diya! Aur hum… Hospital ki induction ceremony ke liye aaye hain. Iss saal Delhi mein hai."

"Ohhh! Toh matlab ab kitne dino tak mujhe tumhaari awesome company milegi?" Billy asked.

"Hum dono poore 6 din ke liye yahaan par hi hain," Riddhima informed them.

"Very good!!" Billy exclaimed. "Yeh badi achchi khabar sunaayi."

They were talking when an elderly couple walked into the living room. Riddhima remembered them faintly, having seen them in some family photographs, but didn't couldn't place them.

"Ananya! Kaun aaya hai?" The woman asked.

"Aaahhhh! Bhabhi, aiye na!" Ananya encouraged. "Yeh dekhiye… humaari Riddhima aayi hai. Aur Rahul… Armaan aur Riddhima ka dost hai. Riddhu, yeh Parminder Tayaji or Payal Taiji hain," she introduced.

Riddhima immediately wore her dupatta on her head and touched their feet to seek blessings. Parminder caressed her head and handed her some money for munh dikhaayi.

"Waah, Billy! Maan'na padega. Armaan ki choice toh badi achchi hai," he said. Riddhima blushed and looked away.

"Haina? Main bhi yahi kehta hoon. Pata nahi uss nithalle ko itni achchi ladki kaise mil gayi," Billy replied.

"Ananya tumne bataya hi nahi ki tumhaari bahu aane wali hai," Payal commented.

"Taiji woh… mom aur dad ko pata nahi tha. Hum unhe surprise dena chaahte the," Riddhima replied.

Payal silenced her with a look. "Jab bade baat kar rahe ho, toh choto ko iss tarah baat kaatni nahi chahiye," she ordered. “Khaaskar ke ghar ki bahu ko. Tumse jab baat ki jaaye toh jawab dena. Uske alawa kuch kehne ki zaroorat nahi hai.”

Riddhima immediately looked down. "I'm… I'm sorry, Taiji."

"Agli baar se dhyaan rakhna," Payal reiterated. Riddhima nodded. “Jee, jee, Taiji!”

“Payal! Kyu bachchi ko daant rahi hai? Apne parents ko surprise dena chaahti thi. Yeh toh achchi baat haina! Lambe safar se aaye hain dono. Thak gaye honge. Abhi inhe aaraam karne de,” Parminder interrupted.

“Haan! Roshan Bhaiya… Riddhima ka saara saamaan Armaan ke kamre mein rakhwa do. Aur Rahul ka uske bagal wale guest room mein,” Ananya said, wanting Riddhima and Rahul to not be around for this.

“Jee, Bhabhi,” Roshan replied. He understood the reason behind Ananya’s hastiness well.

Payal Mallik, while an amazing woman, was also very orthodox. She would 100% find 10 faults in Riddhima in a 10 minute conversation and Ananya did not want that. Riddhima was absolutely amazing the way she was and Ananya would not have anyone, least of all her sister - in - law who did not head nor tail of who Riddhima was, be rude or mean to her for no reason at all.

“Riddhima, Rahul… Chalo tumhe tumhaare rooms dikha dete hain,” Billy announced, pulling them away.

He threw an arm around Riddhima’s shoulder and pulled her into his side. Rahul flanked the other and the three of them walked out of the living room. Once they were out of hearing range, Billy said, “Riddhi… Beta, Payal Bhabhi… woh thodi puraane khayalon waali hai. Tu unki kisi baat pe dhyaan mat dena, theek hai? Aur agar unhone tujhe kuch bhi ulta seedha bola toh tu mujhe ya Annie ko bata degi. Okay?”

“Dad… it’s okay. Woh bade hain. Unhone kuch keh diya toh bhi kya farak padta hai?” Riddhima replied.

“Arre, aise kaise? Bade hain toh iska yeh matlab thodi hai ki kuch bhi keh dengi? Teri koi galti nahi ho toh tu bin matlab unki koi baat nahi sunegi,” Billy insisted.

“Dad…” She tried, but he cut her off. “No, Riddhu. In fact… tu promise kar. Agar unhone tujhe hurt kiya toh tu mujhe ya Annie ko batayegi. Main nahi chaahta ki yeh aisa ghar bane jahaan log bahu ko bina soche kuch bhi keh de aur woh bas sar jhuka ke sunti rahe. Tu meri beti hai aur sabko tujhe waise hi treat karna hoga.”

Riddhima got extremely emotional hearing him talk and hugged him tightly. “I love you, Dad,” she said, her voice thick.

Billy chuckled fondly. “I love you, too, mere bachche!” He replied. “Chalo ab! Jao thodi rest karlo. Dinner ke time tumhe bulaane aa jaunga, okay?”

Both Rahul and Riddhima nodded. Once Billy had shown them to their rooms, he left. He needed to have a word with his elder cousin and his wife.

“Bhaisaab, Bhabhi,” he started, once back in the living room. “Baat aage badhe uske pehle hi main rok dena chaahta hoon… isliye keh raha hoon. Aap dono mujhse aur Ananya se bade hain, humse zyada samajh hai aap dono ko main jaanta hoon. Lekin Riddhima meri beti hai. Aur uske against main ek shabd nahi sununga. Na main yeh chaahta hoon ki usse bina  wajah koi kuch bhi kahe. Yeh Riddhima ka ghar hai aur usse jo karna hai, jaise karna hai, jab karna hai… usse poori aazaadi hai woh sab karne ke. Usse kisi cheez ki koi rok - tok nahi hai. Ho sakta hai ki aapke ghar aisa nahi hota, lekin yahaan aisa hi hota hai. Aur aisa hi hoga.”

“Balwinder! Yeh kya bakwaas kar raha hai? Woh bahu hai teri. Iss tarah se nahi reh sakti woh. Aur… aise bina bataye aa jaana, bado ki baat kaatna… aur ab dekho, kamre mein chali gayi… yeh kaisi baat hai?” Payal fired.

“Bhabhi… maine kaha na, Riddhima meri beti hai. Mere liye usme aur Armaan mein koi fark nahi hai. Toh jaisi aazaadi maine Armaan ko di hai, waisi hi Riddhima ko bhi di hai. Bas… iss baare mein aur baat nahi hogi,” Billy replied.

“Ananya… yeh toh nahi samajh raha, par tu toh samajh,” Payal tried. “Tujhe usse yaad dilaate rehna hoga ki woh teri bahu hai. Aur… Aur tune… usse Armaan ke kamre mein rehne kyu kaha? Unn dono ki shaadi abhi hui nahi hai!”

“Bhabhi… shaadi hone mein abhi 2 mahine hi bache hain. Aur kya fark padta hai agar woh Armaan ke kamre mein rahe? Ab toh uska bhi haq hai uss kamre pe!” Ananya replied. “Aur Billy theek keh raha hai. Humaare liye Armaan aur Riddhima mein koi fark nahi hai.”

“Ananya…” Payal tried again but was cut off by her husband. “Payal, Billy aur Ananya jaante hain woh kya kar rahe hain,” he told her. He was well aware of his wife’s patriarchal ways but he wasn’t about to give into them. The society had moved forward in time. Maybe at one point, the way she thought was considered right, but not anymore. She had to move on, too, just like everyone around her had. It was sad that she refused to. He’d had this conversation with her many times, but she chose to remain stringent in her ways and not change anything about herself. At this point, there was not much he could do except step in and stop her from running her mouth.

“Bhabhi… Bhaisaab ki baat sunn lijiye. Mujhe aur Ananya ko pata hai hum kya kar rahe hain. Agar aap is ghar ki baaton mein zyada dakhal na dein toh hi achcha hoga. Mehmaan hain, mehmaan banke rahein. Iss ghar ki beti ko taana nahi maarengi toh humein achcha lagega, lekin baaki aapki marzi. Par phir aap yeh bhi samajh lijiye ki jab baat meri beti ki hogi toh main chup nahi rahunga. Aur jaane - anjaane mein… main aapki insult nahi karna chahta. Isliye baat aage bade uske pehle hi achcha hoga ki aap samajh lein ki Riddhima ke baare mein kuch bhala - bura na kehne mein hi hum sabki ki bhalai hai toh achcha hoga. Bas ab iss baare mein aur koi baat nahi karni,” Billy concluded and walked away.

Riddhima and Rahul, both of whom had been hiding behind a pillar to listen in, lest things go out of hand, were stumped. They both knew that Billy would not let the matter rest easily and so Riddhima had talked Rahul into eavesdropping on their conversation because she did not want Billy to get into a fight with his family over her. But, the way that both her parents had staunchly defended her had left her speechless. She did not want to say something and insult their love for her. So, she hadn’t intervened. Once Billy had walked off, Rahul pulled her away as well.

“Riddhu?” He asked, “Are you okay?”

Riddhima nodded. “Mujhe toh pata hi nahi tha ki… Mom aur Dad… they love me so much, Rahul!”

“Of course they do,” he agreed enthusiastically. “Meri Riddhu hai hi itni amazing. Sabki favourite!”

Riddhima let out a watery chuckle. “Thank you, Rahul,” she replied, hugging him.

“Anytime,” he answered, dropping a kiss to her head. “Ab jaldi chal aur Armaan ko ek baar phone karle warna woh saara hospital sar pe utha lega.”

Riddhima nodded in agreement. They both went into their rooms and Riddhima immediately dialed the hospital and asked for Armaan.

“Hello, Basket,” he greeted. “Finally time mil gaya tumhe? Yaad aa gaya ki ek fiance bhi hai… jo bechara, tanha, akela… kabse bas ek phone ka wait kar raha hai?”

“Armaan!” She blushed. “Kuch bhi kehte rehte ho.”

“Yaar, ab 3 saal ho gaye hain. Ab bhi aise hi blush? Oyye hoyye…” he replied, causing her to blush deeper.

“Armaan!” She moaned.

“Achcha, fine. No more teasing! How was the flight? Sab theek tha na? No disturbance or turbulence?” He asked, worrying the way he was prone to.

“Armaan! Tum kitni tension lete ho! I’m fine. Flight pe koi problem nahi thi. Humne achche se land kiya aur phir ab main aur Rahul ghar bhi pohonch gaye,” she answered.

“Okay! Fine! Sorry, I worry!” He said. “But… Mom Dad toh milke bohot khush hue honge.”

“Of course!” She replied. “Honge hi na. Main unki favourite jo hoon!”

“Haha, very funny!” He tsked. “Zyada hawa mein udo mat.”

Riddhima laughed. “It’s okay, Armaan! Tumhe jealous hone ki zaroorat nahi hai. It’s just facts, baby.”

Armaan pouted at that. “Stop pouting,” she laughed through the phone. “Ek kaam karo… mom dad ko main rakh leti hoon. Tayaji aur Taiji ko tum rakh lena.”

“Tayaji aur Taiji? Yeh kahaan se aaye beech mein?” He wondered. “And no thanks! Mujhe nahi chahiye Taiji!”

“Woh… actual/ly woh dono yahaan hain,” Riddhima told him.

“What? Wahaan? Tum mili unse? Taiji ne kuch kaha toh nahi na! Tum… tum unki baat mat sun’na unhe toh aadat hai bas bakwaas karne ki!” Armaan replied.

“Armaan! Relax!” She exclaimed.

“Arre, kya relax! Woh Taiji ki puraani aadat hai. Unhone tumhe kuch kaha kya? Agar kaha na toh main abhi…” He started ranting but was cut off.

“Dad ne already unse baat karli! It’s okay, Armaan,” she said.

“Matlab unhone kuch kaha,” he concluded. “Woh hamesha aisa karti hain. Ruko… main abhi Tayaji se baat karta hoon.”

“Armaan… tum kyu unse baat karoge? Maine kaha na Dad ne baat karli. Ab bas isse aur nahi stretch karte, okay?” She tried to pacify him.

“Lekin, Jaan…” Armaan whined.

Wanting to change the topic, Riddhima said, “Waise… Mom ne mujhe tumhaare room mein rukne ke liye kaha hai.”

“What! Mere room mein?” He exclaimed.

“Yes! I have to say, Dr. Mallik. Kaafi neat aur organized kamra hai. Yeh aapki wajah se hai ya Roshan Uncle?” She teased, looking around the room. Everyone was kept in its place in a very organized manner. There wasn’t much in the room nor was it very personalized, but she expected that. Armaan hadn’t ever lived here long enough to make the room his own. For him, this house had not carried many good memories. The fact hurt Riddhima, but it also made her determined to make new, happy memories with him in this place. She was sure that she would.

“You can very much thank Roshan Uncle for that,” Armaan replied softly, probably thinking the same thing she was.

"Hmmmm… I'll remember that. Fir tumhaare saare secrets bhi unse hi pooch loongi. Tumne kahaan kya chupake rakha hai. Unhe toh pata hi hoga," she said, wanting to take his mind off other things.

"NO! NO WAY! Tum… tum unhe kyu pareshaan kar rahi ho? Waise… waise bhi kuch hai hi nahi. There's… there's nothing there! Toh… Toh woh tumhe kya batayenge?" He laughed nervously.

"Achcha? Toh theek haina. Kuch nahi hai toh tum itne defensive kyu ho rahe ho?" She asked.

"Main… main koi defensive nahi ho raha hoon!" He exclaimed.

"Tum ho rahe ho," she replied.

"Nahi."

"Haan."

"Nahi."

"Haan."

"Nahi, Riddhima."

"Haan, Armaan."

"Riddhima."

"Armaan!"

"Riddhima."

"Armaan!"

And then unexpectedly, Armaan started laughing, making Riddhima giggle as well. "Tum pagal ho," she commented.

"I know," he replied. Taking a deep breath, he added, "I really miss you, Basket."

"I miss you, too," she told him.

"You're sure tum theek ho? Tumhe Taiji ki baat ka bura nahi laga?" He asked her.

"Bura toh laga," she answered honestly. "But ab nahi lag raha. Waise bhi, jab tak mere paas tum ho, mom hai, dad hai… mujhe kaise kisi cheez ka bura lag sakta hai."

"I'm sorry tumhe unke taane sun'ne pade," he replied. "But I'm glad ki ab tum better feel kar rahi ho."

"Armaan… Tum kyu sorry bol rahe ho? Tumhaari koi galti nahi hai. Mujhe unki baat achchi nahi lagi, but woh badi hain humse. Kabhi kabhi inn sab cheezon ko bhool jaana hi better hota hai. Aur tum zyada tension mat lo. Mom aur dad haina. I'll be fine. Okay?" she asked.

"Hmmmm," he mumbled, unconvinced.

"Okay?" She pressed, making him laugh.

"Haan, baba. Okay!" He replied.

"I love you," she added. Her sudden declaration made him grin widely.

"I love you, Basket," he answered.

"I know. But ab jao! Hospital mein kaam karne jaate ho ya mujhse gappe lagaane?" She questioned.

He made a face. "Haan, haan. Whatever. Jaa raha hoon. But aaj raat ko Skype?"

"Done!" She agreed. "But ab jao."

"Yes, ma'am! Bye!" He replied.

"Bye!" She answered, hanging up.

To say Armaan was surprised would be an understatement. He couldn't believe that Taiji hadn't even given Riddhima time to rest before taunting her. He knew she'd always been like this, and he'd been on the receiving end of her words countless times. He was used to them now and they didn't affect him, but Riddhima… she'd always been pampered and loved. He didn't think there was a day in her life when Papa or Nani, or even Mumma, had ever spoken to her like this.

So, of course, Taiji's words would have hurt her immensely and she was just keeping quiet to maintain the peace of the family and to not worry him. But, he worried. And he didn't have any love lost for his family. They stopped being his family the day they all stood by and watched his parents ship him off to boarding, and then do nothing for years while they got embroiled in their problems and forgot they had a son. They weren't there for him when he needed them most. And so, they were not his family. And he had absolutely no qualms saying that to their face either.

But Riddhima… she was his family. She was his everything. And he would not stand by and watch and do nothing, like his family had done to him, while the people he actually considered family were insulted.

"Hello?" He asked when someone answered the phone after a few rings.

"Armaan? Beta, kaise ho? Aaj achanak kaise phone kiya?" Tayaji asked.

"Tayaji… aap please apni wife se keh dijiye ki agar woh meri wife se dhang se baat nahi karengi toh main chup nahi rahunga," Armaan answered crisply.

"Riddhima ne tujhe…" Tayaji started, but was cut off.

"Usne mujhe kuch nahi bataya kyuki woh nahi chahti ki main aapse kuch kahoon. Woh Taiji ki respect karti hai, god knows why. Lekin… usse kuch kehne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Uske bina kahe bhi main samajh jaata hoon.

Aur aaj…

"Armaan… Beta…" Tayaji tried.

"Aap bas unse keh dijiye ga. Aur mujhe koi baat nahi karni. Thank you." Saying so, Armaan hung up.

"Oyye, aaj tu Lover Boy se Angry Young Man bana kyu ghoom raha hai? Ridz ki itni yaad aa rahi hai kya?" Atul asked, having overheard the end of the conversation.

"Champ," Armaan sighed. "Kuch nahi, yaar. Bas wohi puraana so called family drama. I'm fine, don't worry. Aur Riddhima ki yaad toh mujhe hamesha hi aati hai."

"Armaan… I know family mein hamesha sab kuch sahi nahi hota… but woh family hoti hai. Thoda adjust karna padta hai, yaar. Aur kar lena chahiye. Warna kisi din, agar woh nahi honge toh bohot regret karega," Atul advised.

"Oyyeee… Tujhse kisne kaha teri family nahi hai? Tu mera Champ hai. Samjha? Hamesha rahega. Hum sab teri family hain, Champ. Main, Basket, Nikki, Rahul, Muskaan… Anjali," Armaan replied. "Tu please kabhi aisa mat sochna ki teri koi family nahi hai."

Atul pulled him into a hug. "I know. Tum sab hi toh ho meri family. Tumhaare alawa mere paas hai hi kaun. But tere paas hai, Armaan. Tu bohot lucky hai."

"Bohot unlucky hoon," Armaan countered. "Itni badi 'family' hone ke baad bhi, kab mujhe sabse zyada zaroorat thi toh kisine mera saath nahi diya. Lekin ab kyuki meri life mein sab phir se track pe aa gaya hai, yob haq jatana aa gaye. Family aisi toh nahi hoti na?"

"Nahi," Atul agreed. "Lekin phir… woh teri family thodi hai. Teri family toh hum sab hain. Aur Padma Aunty, Nani, Dr. Shashank. Billy Uncle. Ananya Aunty. Itne saare log ho toh kisi aur ki kya zaroorat."

Armaan laughed and agreed.

"Tu theek haina?" Atul asked.

"I'm great, Champ. Tu tension mat le. Mujhe aadat hai," Armaan replied. "Yeh sab koi nayi baat nahi hai. Ab toh mujhe zyada fark bhi nahi padta. Actually, bilkul nahi padta lekin woh Riddhima ke baare mein kuch keh rahe the toh…"

"Obviously tere saamne uske baare mein koi kuch bhi kaise bol sakta hai?" Atul joked.

"Mere peeche bhi na bolein toh hi achcha hoga," Armaan threatened.

"Aye, aye, cap'n! Chal, mujhe rounds of jaana hai. Baad mein milte hain," Atul said, and then left.

Armaan sat there for a couple minutes longer, pondering over what Atul had said. It was true. He had a family already. Of people who he cared about and those who cared about him in return. He didn't need anyone else. He was happy just the way he was and he didn't need anyone else.

Taiji is a tough one. A little too old school. But at least others are there to support Riddhima.

Riddhima is very very lucky jo use Ananya n Billy jaise in-laws mile hai I think in-laws kehna galat hoga use toh dusre ma-baap hi mile hai...Dono ek bhi galat baat Riddhima ke lie tolerate nahi kar skte hai...Vo dono sirf kehte nahi hai blki Riddhima ko beti maante bhi hai...

I really wish Rahul ki jagah Armaan Riddhima ke saath Delhi aaya hota😔😔😔 toh aur bhi majaa aata..Their phone convo was nice😊😊😊

Thanx for the update...Enjoyed n Loved it very very much 😊😊😊
