Yep me too!!! Somehow stumbled onto Indian TV because of the ruckus Barun's exit.. hey but yeah about Barun Vs NM let's agree to disagree. It's not ASR Vs SSO, it's Barun Vs NM. As a character SSO was obviously better, had more of a journey than ASR. But Barun as an actor has explored more outside one show and I like his dusky looks- husky voice - tall frame. Also only Chinmayi's slow O jaana is something I liked. IB sound tracks some how did not please me. In fact I love the soundtracks from Bepannah though I did not follow the show beyond 20-30 episodes.

And Anika/SC is in a league of her own...baaki saari Gul heroines can be lumped into one group and you can't tell them apart...same cookie cutter mould😆.

I'm toh just savoring SC even more on a repeat watch...you either have a spark or you don't...girl could act...I even noticed her in passing in QH...that's how you know there's a spark...when even a casual glance shows it clearly.

Re: IPK songs...they all suck IMO...whiny compositions...never connected with me...Geet had a better soundtrack...overall though IB is hands down the best soundtrack out of all Gul pairs...it wasn't just a one phrase song like the other shows.

Sobti whk looks like he never in his life took a shower has no energy tk galk and ligerally no range of emotions is better tha NM who not once but countless times have shown his range and not only deleivered but aced it. Word about shweta she had that command and shweta hj kya uss era main kisi bhi "bubbly " chirpy bandi ko dkeh lo they did all that without making it cringy the bubbly then was actually fun and not heroines behaving like they have some mental disorder crawling on floors saying devi maiya devi maiya or hiding in weird spots while being so ott even the whole talk loudly and fast with funky words was done in such a nice way.

Woh Tabassum Sheikh was in many Ekta shows I guess...she's in KZK also as one of Anurag's sisters...LOL I mainly remember her as the evil chachi from Kis Desh...but I think she was in Kusum too...us time toh aadhe Ekta actors were juggling 3-4 major roles minimum...haha har show mein dikhte the.

And word about how chirpy/bubbly was just played more naturally 20 years ago...these days most girls do it in a caricaturish fashion toh aur bhi disconnect hota hai.

Ashwini Kalsekar was EPIC as Jigyasa, man...haha JIGS bulaate the hum usko...see even the vamps left a huge mark back then cuz the actors were all SOLID...aajkal dekho toh even the Ekta show veterans are mainly on autopilot doing 2 Rs. supernatural Naagin shit...nobody puts in that kind of work anymore.

Something caught my attention and I got hooked. Repeat watched it like zillion times. Then Ishqbaaaz came along. Now IPk looks so dragged and the only thing Kushi seem to do is faint and fall into ASR's arms or get herself tangled with ASR's assorted thingies. Rabba Ve is now a torture in slow motion. I used be an avid IPK viewer once upon a time. And made a lot of good friends then who were great fun and with whom I am friends even now although there is no show we watch together anymore. When I look back I think it was more the the whole experience and bonding rather than the content that contributed to me sticking to it after the hate marraige. Because post that there was no story. And Barun had zoned out. After IPK it took me a long time to enjoy and engage with any other show although I did give Sanaya's shows a try and even IPK3 which was awful after which which one of my friends suggested watching IB. The only shows which engaged me and I managed to watch completely were ZGH and KYY season 1 both of which were very good and much better than IPK. And then of course then came IB which was almost 400 episodes by the time I started watching.

Also that was before Shivika. I have a feeling that after Shivika if I were to go back and watch (and I haven't for this very reason) I won't enjoy IPK and will find it shallow. In IPK I think the fandom imagined and wanted Arnav to have the kind of evolution that Shivaay did but that never happened.

Shivika are in a league of their own. And for me they trump ArHi by a long shot and Shivaay trumps Arnav. And definitely Nakuul over Barun both on and offscreen anyday. SSO had so many different shades which made him different from the other Gul Male leads. I can't even imagine Barun pulling of SSO's Billu mode for instance which was such a unique and endearing shade of SSO which set him apart. Or chavanni chhaap Billu or bandwala Billu. If the casting had been different I have a feeling SSO would have also ended up kind of like an Arnav clone. In fact both Nakuul and Surbhi I thing hugely contributed to Shivika being different and special and made IB different.

And I am saying this as someone who has actually watched all the episodes of both IB and IPK and been a fan of Arnav and Khushi and the past. Not just based on things I have heard or read. Just my opinion of course. Others many differ. There are many staunch IPK fans but I don't know how many of them have actually completely watched both. Some have I am sure. But many haven't.

Shivika's shoes are too big for anyone to fill on that show. But yeh baat Gulneet and SP ko kaun samjhaye?
