Frankly, based on the caps I saw, NM seems to be hamming like hell in this role. And it's damn hard to look at his face now. Ekdum cheap vibe aati hai. Dunno if that's intentional or unintentional but it's a definite turn off from NM overall if he continues with this delusional experiment. Get a grip, dude

+1 to everything you said i am just being so majorly tirned pff by NM and all the publicity of the new rockstar SASSO this is an i sult but hey if he thinks this is what he deserves toh this guys has really no idea about his own talent and what he created with shivaay and how fab he has been

Today was a super fun day!! #shivikaforever trended and there is now a whole universe of parody accounts for original character. It was busy at work but I did spend some time on the tag and hanging out with the parody people. They did not spare Gul and Harneet either ! We have parody accounts for both these ladies. And Star Plus too! So many people were just there having fun that the hashtag trended. IB fandom can trend anything in a heartbeat. There are always toxic, absolutely unacceptable sometime violent tweets but most of the fans genuinely seem to like the show and have deep emotional attachment to the show, like me. What ever their justification for leap, Star Plus and Gul squandered an opportunity. This wonderful and huge fan base would have showered more love if they have given interesting tracks.
That said, you folks are pros at all things TV. Just like one of you predicted, NM started promoting the second season. I am yet to watch the first episode, perhaps never will except to troll, but the comments and caps were good enough to put me off. Recycled shoes, recycled clothes and bangles for the female lead, recycled story , not even NM's look is original. I cannot believe he is the same guy behind the web series I don't watch TV'. Did he know what he getting into ? Did he even get a brief on the story line ? If he did , how did he agree to doing something so shoddy. The new look is not helping at all. He looks more like a road Romeo than a movie star. Overall Star Plus seems to have gotten into a PR disaster and they will be held accountable. This so called cost cutting looks like will end up cutting a lot of corporate jobs as well.
A word on the female lead. She is being branded as a Katil haseena'. First look was anything but katil. She looked more like the woman who played the role of Deepali in Madhubala. Her looks, high bar original cast set, are all stacked against her.

But for the good part of my day! Time to watch episode 1.

Oh yes she was bashed no end. And I used to feel really bad about it. What I was trying to say that people didn't learn anything from that. They are doing pretty much the same thing again now. Everyone is unhappy. There are people who express this unequivocally but without being offensive and then there are some who are utterly offensive. But the irony is that these offensive folks have seen their favourite be at the receiving end and know what it feels like and felt it was wrong and yet have not learnt anything and do the same thing themselves. It's the pot and the kettle.
I don't even know what people found wrong in his congratulatory tweet that they found it so objectionable. But that was tame compared to Instagram. And yes SC has had to deal with worse and it's horrible both times. These fans are no better than Gul who is just as rude and offensive in her comments. And people said the most horrid and demeaning things to Jankee there on insta just because they are unhappy with the leap. It was totally uncalled for.

@AY and Fary: Ditto to everything about dhinchak. I hate the look. And the whole thing has such a cheap, tacky wannabe vibe about it. And coming on the heels of suave classy SSO what a fall there was. NM will live to regret this choice. And he will have to live with the consequences. It just feels like a shame because he made SSO special. The original one. The Billuji wala. And made him stand apart from all other such heroes. Same goes for SC and Anika. And the tuning they had between them set such a benchmark that even if they leap was well done ( and it's not, anything but) it would be hard if not impossible to live upto that because the bar is set so high. That is impossible to create with another costar and that too on the same show. And yeh tacky version toh will not even get a look in. But speaking purely from a character point of view this is Shivaansh. Not Shivaay. NM's Shivaay deserved a better farewell. But people are unable to separate Shivaay from Shivaansh from NM. Three separate people. Some do. But many can't. So while NM as Shivaansh deserves all he gets, NM as Shivaay needed a better goodbye. Just my POV on this.
As for him promoting dhinchak I expected he wouldn't as long as Shivaay was playing. (Unlike Gul who couldn't wait) Once that ended he would promote the new character. Because the new character is the new reality. NM needs to charge himself up. This is part of it. NM himself will also realise the hard way that for the viewers it really is #ShivikaForever (his own words). No dhinchaak is ever going to replace that.

Honestly, this is beyond just "Shivika forever" or the inevitable comparisons to Shivaay and Anika...NM is looking CHEAP in this new look...like SLEAZY vibes aa rahe hain from his looks and expressions...is that the "growth" he wanted? To look SLEAZY? Cuz dude, that is a serious DOWNGRADE.

I don't remember the supporting cast of madhubala but yeah everyone was better in the bigger picture what they have casted as supporting here don't even get to do the roles of servants in daily soaps this a level beyond that househelp level of extra actors too amd with iB toh even khanna jaisa employee who did everything was so loved toh who can accept these xyz's even for NM too though that is just bot possible with how he is looking right now

It's not the first time NM has done mawaali shaded things or roles...Mahi comes to mind...and this mode of his at the LSB epi...lol

Shivaay was a multi-shaded character...he did awful things from time to time but he was never SLEAZY...but with this Dhinchak, NM has gone full blown SLEAZY and I can't look at his face anymore without getting seriously yuck vibes. What a pity.
