While Varun Dhawan may have never had a bad day at the box office when it comes to his films, however, 2018 has been dominated by Ayushmann Khurrana. The actor had two of his films release in 2018 Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho and both films have been loved by fans and critics alike. Not just that, they have performed tremendously well at the box-office as well. The makers of both films are on cloud 9 as both films were made with a small budget and had humongous success at the box-office, especially Badhaai Ho.

The success of Ayushmann Khurrana's last has now entered the esteemed club of the top box-office success stories of 2018, which also includes the likes of Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju, Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 2, Salman Khan's Race 3, Alia Bhatt's Raazi and Ayushmann's good friend and contemporary Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2. Incidentally, Judwaa 2 is Varun Dhawan's biggest box-office success so far which earned a total of Rs 215 crore at the box-office as its lifetime collection.

Now, Ayushmann Khurrana, who's last big success was Andhadhun, which made Rs 73.49 crore at the domestic box-office, has beaten Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2 with his latest release Badhaai Ho, which has already made Rs 217 crore at the box-office (domestic and worldwide included) and is expected to end its theatrical run with Rs 225 crore. This is a huge feat for Ayushmann Khurrana considering even his critically acclaimed films have barely ever managed to cross the Rs 50 crore mark let alone enter the Rs 200 crore club. Badhaai Ho also starred Sanya Malhotra of Dangal fame, actress Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and veteran Bollywood actress Surekha Sikri in prominent roles. The film has received a lot of critical acclaim and has been loved by fans.

It was all about time that Ayushman had to outperform the overrated stars! Long way for him to go, and may he keep surprising us all with his unique films. I have high hopes from him.👍🏼

Ayushmaan is far more deserving and talented..though I am yet to rate him highly on versatility..but his selection of scripts has been a winner..
VD is annoying..his voice itself is major cringe..amongst many other things..he was fine in Badlapur and Badri..by his standards, but otherwise really annoying to watch

Big congrats to Ayushman for his both films but I would like to add one thing, Badhai Ho is a success not because of Ayushman, nothing to take away from him, but whoever has watched that movie would agree with me that Neena Gupta and that actor who played her husband along with the actress who played her mother-in-law law were the actual show stealers. Nevertheless, a success is a success but that movie became a success because of all those actors tbh.
