I don't see him as sidekick.
He started manipulating game first by targeting Deepak successfully.
He and Rohit are already playing as team, since Srishty was common friend.
Now he got close to Surbhi.
He is using Rohit, Surbhi and Deepak to target Shree and Deepika.
He has succeeded in creating a crack among friends and is enjoying the show.

Anyway KV is playing good game according to me and he is not a sidekick.
I am not talking about winnner here. But he is also one of the deserving one to win.
