Mahir's mind refused to take the rubbish Vyom was trying to feed, his mind even repelled Bela's attempt to will him to believe it.
After all that he had witnessed, heard and was asked to leave, his rational mind found only one course of action - as always to read in between the lines, to look beyond the smokescreen- and he asks Bela to confirm his assumptions beyond what is being presented to his ears and eyes.
