New episode, first day first show begins with the prayer n invocation of all deities of all major temples in India with reverence .. in true Ekta Kapoor style beginning with Ganapati at Siddhivinyak Mumbai .
The scene shifts to Durga Puja festival at Kolkata .. the majestic Howrah bridge, the Victoria Memorial, the tram cars and all the major attractions of the city of joy ... , the scene then shifts to a mandir inside a house where Ganapati pooja is going on by chanting mantras ...
"Om Gan Ganapataye Namo namaha ..."
This is Prerna's house .. and this is Prerna's mother Veena Sharma performing pooja and purifying the whole house by incense , sprinkling of holy water n mantras ,the entire interior is decorated with yellow and gold marigold flowers
She bows before the deity , Rajesh Sharma , prerna's dad joins her at the mandir .
Scene shifts to another sprawling bungalow , tastefully/lavishly decorated with crystals and mirror strings , there is Siya Ram Laxman mandir and pooja is going on . servants are making all arrangements and pujari ji is there Anuraag is performing pooja arti of Ram .
the owner of the place .. Moloy Basu arrives and bows with reverence before deity , he lovingly caresses his son .A little later a bejewelled , draped in heavy silks Mohini Basu joins pooja , her husband naughtily questions her for getting late . she glares n ignores him .
At Sharma house
the sound of bells, bhajan, mantras alert all members and Mahesh sharama , prerna's brother rushes bac home ,from morning jog , holds ears in apology for getting late , his mom glares at him for his dirty clothes , signals him to change .. he joins pooja soon after getting all cleaned up n changed . his elder bro Shekhar sharma too joins them .at aarti pooja .
soon Suman Shekhar sharma arrives with thaali of modak , joins her husband at aarti .
Prerna is still sleepy in her bed . she wakes up on hearing the familiar sound , rushes to change .
Elsewhere a girl is doing morning jogging in tight jeans n top , as she finished two servants/body guards escort her into the waiting car and to Basu mansion .
she rushes in, signals to her mom , goes to her room, cleans up, changes , wakes up her sleeping pati and arrives at pooja in a silk saree ,She is Nivedita Basu Sengupta .
Her pati , Anupam Sengupta hurriedly joins the pooja and first thing he eyes are the wads of notes lying before deity as offering .
Tapur basu strolls in casually in jeans n off shoulder top and refuses to change , Mohini offers her a shawl/stole to cover herself up n look decent at mandir .
At Sharma house Shivani rushes to join the morning prayers .Prerna is seen dressing up in her jewelry and flowing red dupatta .. the dupatta floats behind her as she runs down the stairs to join pooja.
The BG music plays ... instrumental version of title song of KZK plays . .Veena is annoyed noticing Prerna getting late . shivani is in blue flowing kurta churidar while prerna is in simplered anarkali suit .
Prerna performs a arti of Ganesha .
At Basu house Anurag performs aarti of Siya Ram ..simultaneously ..

At Basu mansion pandit ji declares pooja was completed , all to seek aashirvaad .Pandit ji praises Anurag for his punctuality , Anu replies that if one does not value time , time does not value that person .He valued time . he offers prasad laddoos to entire family .
His mother complains that she gets late because of her social events and parties which go on till late night ,but she was always woken up by Anurag's aarti .She asks Anu not to be annoyed . Anu takes back one laddu from his dad as he notices he had picked up two greedily .
At Sharma house Veena scolds Prerna for getting late as usual , she laments when will this girl learn to be punctual/ vakt ki kardra . Prerna complains that why are all doing things as per time ? she will do things as per her heart .She makes excuses for getting late , she runs off to get ready for college .
Veena complains to Rajesh for pampering his beti , this way they will never be able to marry her off , Rajesh thinks its no big deal if she remains unmarried ,she was their beti not a burden .
He asks her to check out her gift packed by Prerna . she gets emotional on learning that Prerna was awake most of the night to prepare those gifts to assist her mom in her attempt to earn some money for the family .
he appeases Veena lovingly by making tea for her .Prerna leaves for office , her bro offers to drop her .
At Basu house Moloy tries to flirt with Malini but she retorts back n is not amused .
Anurag leaves for business management classes , Malini is annoyed as he remains so busy at college , avoiding social gathering He replies he did not enjoy parties .
Malini advises him to enjoy his papa's hard earned wealth instead of slogging at college . Anurag says he wanted to earn his own name . He wants a separate identity for Anurag Basu other than Moloy's son .His dad supports him.
At college Prerna is not impressed by the girls who are seen swooning over handsome Anurag Basu . Prerna feels he was her dad's friend's son . she respects the guy .
the girls stare at Anurag in T shirt . Prerna finds it embarrassing , she goes away .
all girls stare at Anurag . they are annoyed that Prerna knew that guy n was seen speaking to Anurag .
The boys share with those girls ...what exactly comprised the usual boring talks between Anurag and Prerna ...that took place daily .
later the girls ask Prerna over not dating that guy the girls request Prerna to arrange their meetings . prerna escapes from her friends .
prerna assists her mom in delivering those gifts to their destination in Tempo. .
Veena scolds Rajesh for not grabbing the contract of gifts from his friend Moloy Basu when he offered thousands of gifts to every one during pujas , she could earn some thing by that contract . Rajesh says he is already indebted to his friend for his huge loan .veena remarks about his sleepless night over that loan .
Moloy and mohiini are delayed at Durga pujo pandal because of Prerna's tempo parked in the middle of street unloading cartons of gifts . mohini is annoyed .
prerna delivers the gifts and is rushing out .
Moloy speaks to Prerna lovingly . mohini speaks to Prerna with contempt , Prerna reveals how Anurag was two yrs senior to her at college . Mohi's friends show off s usual . Prerna is not impressed by the ladies as they showoff in vain .
prerna rushes off to join the dancing .
mohini offers chunari at durga pooja it has real gold zari as this was for Anurag .
Nivi comlains how she was only concerned for Anu and not for her other 3 daughters .
prerna and the girls try to enter close to mandap but they are stopped by the organizers saying that space was only for Basu family members .
Anurag tells his dad about impending hurricane .
next scene shows Mohini watches as Anurag follows Prerna to the manap they stand together .
Moloy invites Prerna inside the reserved space . Prerna thanks the lord for this opportunity to perform aarti standing this close to devi ma .. last 22 years her family members had to watch from far . she prays to maa durga for naya toofaan into her zindagi .
the drums start beating , dhoop nritya starts ..

Mohini looks down upon Veena who has put up a stall selling gifts for puja . Mohini makes anexcuse n leaves . leaving veena hurt .
Prerna's friend Anjali forces Prerna to speak to Anurag for her sake . prerna feels awkward . she makes excuses , that she was doing this for he rfriend who thought just because her dad worked for his dad she was suppose to know anurag .she asks what kind of girls he liked . anu says he liked Anjali . he asks he too wanted to know what kind of guys prerna liked .
Anurag tells Prerna that he found Vicky cute too
prerna feels awkward .
later prerna apologizes to Anurag for asking personal Qs , she would not have done this if it were not for her friend . Anurag feel nothing of it ... asks her to relax
a dupatta floats over them . as the pandit says how Durga mata took care of her true followers .. Mata became prem ki murat for her lovers , she protected them by her chunari . Maa leads them with love .
how durga maa took the form of mahishasur mardini to destroy those who insulted her , sinned , played with women's modesty and indulged criminal activities , she would destroy them with her flaming fury .
a drunkard , disheveled appearance is seen staggering out of a car , kicking over dust bins, tossing things carelessly and the durga Puja mandap catches fire by his actions ... throwing smoldering cigarette into some alcohol spilled by him carelessly .

ShahRukh Khan narrates about this show in the end .. only those love stories were etched in memories who were heart broken in the end . the ones which were adhoori . if there were no heart breaks then those stories were not interesting .
