Hello folks! Recently discovered this forum I had a doubt. Is Brahma Vaivarta Purana authentic? Wikipedia says that major part of this Purana was composed during the 16th- 17th century in Bengal. And this text mainly describes raas lila and love life of Lord Krishna. It also says that Krishna had intercourse with Gopis on their request.( But Krishna was only 8 years during raas lila, isn't it?). It also has stuff like Ganesha is an incarnation of Lord Krishna. The most interesting fact is this is the only Purana which describes Radha is detail whereas most of the texts have no mention of Radha. So is this Purana really authentic?
