Bepannah~ My thoughts ~eps. 121 ~124 Let the world ring with Adi's Bepannah love!
1st September~ ep 121: There are times when issues worm into one's mind and then prey their, often leading to one's knee jerk reactions. Aditya's magnetic pull towards Zoya eats Anjana up. She dreads the kind of preoccupation Adi has towards that Zoya, who knows he might even propose to her on the Janamasthami, tomorrow? Maybe that's why he insists Zoya be invited! It's the last thing Anjana wants.. still she too is Adi's mother and she'll do anything in her power to keep both her boys well out of the reach of the Siddiqui sisters.
Arshad acts wisely. Plays it by ear with Zoya ,rather than rush in and force her into a relationship with him. His attitude is staid and mature, he laps in every word Zoya utters in. That she didn't want to waste his time! Reminds me its something on the same lines Adi had tipped her with... don't waste the man's time.. thus Zoya speaks straight with Arshad. He too is not short of flattering her about the time he spends with her.. if things don't work out , he will still cherish moments with her.. talk about appeasing a woman's vanity! But words are words! affectionate action, makes Zoya pull her hand from under his. Arshad clearly gives the right vibes to her in word , and deed that he fancies her! really! Arshad may sound understanding , but seems he will not clearly throw down his arms in getting Zoya!
Roshana is a caring mother for both her daughters, although she daren't stand up before Waseem as her patriarchal spouse. Her scene with Noor is noteworthy for me. Its interesting how children are hypersensitive to what goes on within the family. Noor overall is very touchy about this appi Arshad alliance. She clearly sides Adi and Arjun. I see Noor frustrated at seeing her Appi give in to this whole Arshad nonsense. On the one hand there is great sibling bonding between Zoya and Noor quite like Arjun and Adi . however when Roshana checks Noor about dossing about unlike Zoya. Slight younger sibling rivalry triggers in young Noor. Where on one hand she needs a slight jolt , on the other hand it makes her feel quite useless in comparison to her older, always right Appi! The result is Noor ventures forth to independently seek a job on own! To prove her worth. As far as her father is concerned he reckons young Noor is keen to attend the puja at the Hoodas house! Noor I repeat, has a lot on her mind. Zoya too is rushed off her feet to notice.. however Noor tells Zoya she s going for a job interview! Noor needs Arjun's support, he too is bogged down by Adi's frame of mind .. so really we see the siblings, much disgruntled by this Zoya Arshad forthcoming liaison.
So Adi used victor's phone to make a call? Anjana is on to something! Well all seems to be going good in the Hooda house for the dahi handi... there is talk about who will win the dahi handi? for Adi only she matters.. his heart senses her enter his house , his Radha.. today none can stop Krishna and his Radha from coming together! Such is Adi's faith in his love! Arshad comes to, Adi is desperate to tell Zoya and Arshad the truth. Prying Anjana stops Adi's truth from being revealed. To bury her own son in further quagmire of accusations! The feather Adi gives Zoya is symbolic of Krishna giving his heart to his beloved Radha.. only this Radha sees Adi as her one and only dearest friend.
Adi's sharing faith values, makes him a winner! Siddiqui's attend the puja at Hooda house, and all animosities seem to wash away for the moment! But its ever so hard to tell the truth, clear ones name! Adi attempts to tell Zoya and Arshad about the call he made! Instead Zoya and Arshad end up thanking Adi for helping and turning up in times when he was most needed... well all I can say is Adi s could have kept quiet , yet he chose to speak the truth.. its not a matter that he ends up safe.. how will his wicked mother twist Adi's truth to discredit him??
I am not sure whether to hate the mother in Anjana? The handi scene between her and the son who is the apple of her eye.. Adi! how she dotes on him! with almost religious zealous! Her sons are her world.. it's almost dangerous when Anjana tells Adi that what ever she does, he is at the centre of her mind! The mother and son bond is almost like the black spider, who is ready to swallow its own kind! To survive! Adi is caught in her gossamer web of deceit.. declares for her sake he'll do anything! I wonder what this mother will ask from her Kisna?
Its nerve racking! waiting to be called in for an interview. Boss sounds like some kind of a beast. Noor finds Arjun's missed call.. well coffee Nawaz is just to late she's nearly got one foot in the office!
The controversial phone call, that twists the plot into such a knot that we are still waiting till date to loosen its grip on Adi and Zoya! Arshad gets a phone call and recalls it's the same number that called him! Adi tries to tell him it was... him, but Arshad already answers the call. Wonders who it is? Anjana replies hello! Arshad is bewildered to hear who it is! Anjana ... lies her way through with panache.. its her staff's number?? Arshad is confused, why it's the last caller number on his phone?? Arshad reports the story, him and Zoya stuck in riots , this was the number that made a hoax number? But why? Anjana plays his cards and tells him Aditya had Victor's phone! Arshad is nonplussed! It implicates that Adi made the hoax call.. but why would Adi do that? he came as their saviour? Anjana plots against Adi .Bends Arshad s ear , that Adi might be wanting him out of his way as he loves Zoya!! then she passes it off as some jest on her part! But the doubt is sowed in Arshad s mind. How Anjana sniggers at her smart ,cunning warped mind! This plot should create a stink! cracking fissures between Adi and Zoya being her real intention!
Let the handi competition begin! traditionally it happened between the two Hooda lads! But this time it's between Arshad and Adi.. all part of the fun side of this festivity! Wasim already starts his attack on Adi's morale! Reminds Adi Arshad beat him at the biryani contest! Arshad suddenly begins to talk mean at Adi! I would say all Anjana s bad mouthing Adi before Arshad! Works wonders Arshad taunts Adi, some people only compete to win .. and they'll cheat too win ! well Adi will not take being implied a cheat! He growls , Adi hates cheaters! Like good sportsmen they shake hands.. no surprise that Arshad too goes for the red handi ! like Adi! exactly like both men are passionate for the same woman Zoya! only Adi believes the red handi belongs to him! Arshad may fight for it! But hell! Adi will not give it up that easily..
On the other hand, Arshad is dying to tell Adi about the hoax call incident! The person behind it perhaps?? Arshad wants some clarifications! Busy body Anjana tries to bust these two from talking!
Even the symbolic handi is used to harm Zoya.. Anjana slips something in the red handi! Nothing personal Zoya.. but any one that comes between her son and her, gets a taste of Anjana's dangerous wrath!
The handi's are hang in mid air towering above the heads of the devotees ! both the contenders get garbed in ritual clothes befitting the festival! Adi gets a feather in his headdress by his Radha! Arshad gets a courteous handshake from Zoya and best of luck! As both rivals climb over their teams to reach the mid air handi! Anjana has eyes on Arshad... it will end in a smashing, cutting, experience! For Arshad as he smashes his handi! Shattered tiny glass pieces ! hit his eyes!! he collapses! Adi rushes to his aid! Foul play! This is not fair play as Adi claimed! This is brazen cheating to win tactic!
Anjana, gets away scot free and spins yarns.. the story ends with Adi being the last person to keep the handi that Arshad smashes! Wasim threatens to call the police and charges the Hoodas for malicious bodily harm to their would be son in law! Arshad only thinks of Anjana s words, surely a mother would not go against her own son?? she was only making Arshad aware that Adi loves Zoya... hummm.. and thus Adi can only stoop to any level to stop him marrying Zoya! Anjana is winning in leaps and bounds! Through Arshad her aim is to get to Zoya... incite hate in her heart against Adi!
All of Adi's good heartedness is once again , misconstrued and twisted! Arshad ends up taunting Adi that he first lays traps and then ends up emerging as some super hero! Adi yells back does he think he is some psychotic killer! ? Arshad glares at him and calls him cheap ,selfish cheater! Well Zoya was not having it!! Boldly she flies to Adi's defence by landing a resounding slap on Arshad s face for bad mouthing Adi!! daring to blame Adi! Looks like Anjana's plan back fires in this instance.. still her handy work has made sure that guns are pointing at her darling boy! She ll have him rejected by the whole world , largely Zoya, only to have her Adi all to herself! The workings of sick, disturbed minds...
Ep 122, Sept 3rd: Zoya vociferously fights Adi's innocence. Whereas Arshad argues, Adi is far from what he appears. Zoya fights back she knows Adi enough to know he is brash ,speaks his mind out but attack Arshad is too far fetched an idea. Adi swears on Zoya he knows naught about the attack on Arshad but he too digs his heels in too and tells Zoya, she should know him well enough too ,that he would not press serious charges against Adi without good reason. Anjana seems to fall flat on her face! Instead of splitting Zoya from Adi they seem to be gravitating towards each each! That Zoya stands up for him, acts as a boost for Adi in a big way in this trouble time he undergoes.. its her unshakeable faith in him ,that keeps him standing upright! Zoya scathes Arshad and boldly declares her trust in Adi ! in fact Zoya turns around and runs the nice guy Arshad into the ground for picking on Adi. Waseem is dumbfounded as an enraged Zoya, calls off two weeks! Friendship or marriage! With Arshad! She grits her teeth in fact she'll break off with all who come between her and Adi! that's that!!! well Arshad just has to swallow Zoya's curt decision! Wasim cannot tolerate losing at Adi's hands and orders his daughter to apologize to Arshad! Zoya refuses flatly as she feels Arshad is in the wrong! Not Adi! well too bad Arshad replies surly to Waseem, best leave it, its to do with matters of the heart! may be it is meant to be this way.
Adi asks Zoya why was she so short with Arshad. Zoya replies because she cannot tolerate people wrongly accusing him of something he is innocent off! he can sink to such low level stuff ! Adi suffers pangs of guilt.. he wants to confess something before Zoya but stops him, enough said about the matter! She ll call him later and slips away.. Anjana dirty act ends up in benefitting Zoya!
Noor s gruelling experience with her dirty minded boss, is an insight into the distasteful professional exploitation of young, desperate woman looking to earn an honest living. Her new boss has his dirty eye fixed on this young girl, who is willing to anything to get a job! Noor at first cannot see through his deception.. her contentment is she got a new job ! all on her own accord! Little does she see the commonly seen wolf in sheep's clothing ready to gulp intelligent, vulnerable, motivated young girls, waiting to make it big! Mind you its early days yet for the wolf to show its fangs and claws!
Noor and Arjun meet .. before she could give him the good news.. they row over not picking up each others phones! Noor leaves in a stinking mood! Little does she know about the turn of events! Wait till she gets home!As far as Zoya can see that hasn't happened yet! Waseem uses emotional black mail as a ploy to yet again grip Zoya! but this time his daughter isn't haven't it! She tells him straight its pointless talking to him as he is already formed negative opinions about her and Adi!
At Hooda house Anjana carries on attempts at putting Adi off Zoya! the girl cannot be the right girl for him. Adi disagrees, only Zoya is the one for him! but he turns around and reminds her, when all were pointing accusing fingers at him it was only Zoya who boldly stood by him! she even does away with her liaison with Arshad on account of him! Anjana then tries to poison Adi's mind against Arshad that he might have set the story! But Adi refutes her, Arshad is a doctor! He saves lives! He wouldn't cook up a malice tale. Anjana tactic is to play mind games with Adi.. so he can never get to the real culprit! His very own mother! Why would Adi suspect his own mother? After all she loves him the most..
Waseem despairs at her boldness and twists it to show his grave concerns over her contemplating marrying Adi ?? Zoya gulps she'll not force him to like Adi.. similarly she expects her father not to pressurize her into liking Arshad! How open can Zoya be with her father? Its pathetic and heartless of Waseem to turn deaf to his daughters pleas.. Waseem is one father with a hard heart.. so sad for Zoya! but Waseem always suspected Zoya's soft spot for Aditya ! he picks on Noor as she returns after a tough day! Takes out his pent up anger on Zoya! at poor Noor!! He feels a failed father, seeing both his daughters ! going out of his hands!
Adi still wants to clarify his position before Arshad! But instead Adi is summoned to Siddiqui home.. Zoya is taken aback to see him.. he tells her he didn't come here on his own accord but he was called here by her father! Adi finds Arshad there too? Is this some kind of a trap?
Ep 123, Sept 4th : He penned his bepannah love for Zoya , for her eyes only.. he had to share the revelation of what she meant to him. for her ears only. But things go horribly wrong! Now Adi declares he loves her before the whole wide world ! where instead of receiving her mutual acceptance of him. Aditya is met with her out right rejection! All to please the expected, acceptable ways of the world.
Waseem had said he was not finished with Zoya's defiant defence of Adi and annulment of all alliance with Arshad!!! Well today is pay back time! its obvious Arshad must have briefed Waseem about the notorious phone call Adi is accused of making.. its interesting to see that both Arshad and Waseem seem to sing from the same song sheet.. Zoya is being made a volley ball between the two. Waseem blames Adi's bad company, I Reckon. Arshad is very much one of Waseem's fold. A father openly exposes Zoyas wilfulness in her marriage to Yash! its almost as if he scoffs at her don't be hasty again and commit a serious mistake the second time in some ways it's a fathers sincere plea spurred out by the fear that he'd rather see her settled this time rather then uprooted again. Arshad Waseem sees as a man who can offer stability to his daughter! But for Zoya its not whether she screwed up her past .its more about making up for what ruined her marriage ,her inability of being a friend to Yash. Thus when she defends Adi is about standing up for the very first friend she finds in her life! She supports Aditya as his friend!
There is a disagreement between Waseem , Arshad and Zoya. Her mindset stands as Adi and her as merely very close friends. Waseem and Arshad however both unanimously see through Adi's actions as a bruised lover's attempts to upset Zoya's alliance with Arshad. For Zoya this comes as a terrible and bitter shock.. there is a mistake on their parts.. how she disputes their statements by her helpless statement .. why can a man and woman be just good friends??? Well she brings up the question of Platonic relationship in a society where the notion is not readily acceptable.. it departs from the usual set up norms!
Arshad ,on Waseem's behest givers a sufficient circumstantial evidence of the hoax call.. where he his made to go into the riots deliberately! Zoya is engulfed by material which paints Adi as some kind of deceptive beast! Why would Adi send Arshad in the riots only to save him? what grievance does he have Arshad.. Zoya argues. with great conviction Arshad argues it's not about hostility against him. It's about love! Zoya cannot swallow what she herself doesn't believe in! How would Arshad and her father know? She knows Aditya better than them and she never sensed he loved her! not in the way he is sketched out to be. Zoya finds it a poor justification and falsified accusation of doing low level stuff . she knows Aditya would never do!
Well there is only one way to find out! It's their word against hers! Aditya will have to come and clarify this gross misconception that both her father and Arshad are paranoid about that he loves her!
Aditya perhaps senses some undercurrent seeks two minutes with Zoya in privacy . But is sharply refused by Waseem as he wants what ever Adi has to say.. said before all. Both Waseem and Arshad perhaps wonder if Aditya would actually come clean and prove them and Zoya wrong?? Has he the guts??
That which should have been a personalized, declaration of love to each other in privacy.. expressing his deepest sentiments for his beloved Zoya! Becomes an ugly court room drama where publicly Zoya gets the biggest shock of her life and Waseem and Arshad emerge as winners of this battle that the truth is Aditya does love Zoya ! The whole world sees it! The only one who has blinkers on is Zoya herself. The shock of losing this case.. close to her heart , finishes off Zoya. She feels cheated, betrayed one more time! this time not by one she loved as a man! But by one who made her believe in herself that yes Zoya! too has the capabilities of striking a meaning relationship with a man! this time with her one and only friend Aditya for whom she picked battles with her father! Broke her to be alliance, just to defend his friendship! But today by what he says, once again her trust has been broken. Once again Zoya sees herself as a weakling who yet again fails to discern people! Gullible, trusting and stupidly nave! Zoya is struck down well and proper emotionally!
As for Adi.. he never imagined opening up his heart to Zoya would be this way! Still its now or never! He loves her intensely, till infinity! Endlessly! and he is not afraid to proclaim it loud and clear! He loves her as no other will love her! and he is not ashamed to confess it. Perhaps Adi did not expect her sharp rebuff to his confession of love before her? The slap! Zoya with frayed nerves! for breaking her trust! no! she closes her senses to his presence! He has said enough! shamed her before her father and Arshad! She lost her stance and they won in thiers!
He tries reasoning with her! but she is like a woman scorned! He robbed her of her best friend due to this love angle of his ! love? listen Zoya! he grabs her hand.. go if you must! but remember I will always love you ! whether you grant me love or leave my love unrequited! I shall love you endlessly! Zoya stops.. how can she trust the love of a friend whose friendship betrayed her?? Zoyaaa! But knowing Adi the lion hearted!! he gets more dangerous when he is wounded! Roarrr!
Ep124 Sept 5th: Instead of wallowing in self pity why me? Adi blames himself of invariably hurting people he loves.. Zoya's scathing words scar his spirit. Arshad packs his bags.. best to wrap up the whole Zoya alliance. Regrettable indeed. He quite enjoyed the time with her. But it's beginning to smell now. compared to Adi how easily Arshad gives up despite that he has Waseem backing all the way.
Guilt of grieving her father, and carrying the ruins of her past marriage , its Zoya who pays Arshad a visit. The fact she pays him a visit at this unforsaken hour, is proof enough that things might just begin to look good for Arshad once again. Maybe his departure will be averted? In fact he shows complete understanding of why she sided with Adi and broke off their imminent alliance. Guilt ridden, vulnerable Zoya asks him if he would still like to marry her? Arshad once again plays wisely.. gives her his full sympathy, plus still insists she think over once again that is she marrying him ,because Adi has betrayed her trust?
The notable thing about the scene is that although. Zoya asks him to marry her. Zoya ends up crying over Arshad s shoulder.. crying and recalling how she and Adi felt connected. How they hated each other, yet over , time how they realised how best they understood each other.. and became very close friends! She recalls how their common grief of cheating spouses brought their spirits together. Zoya is clearly shaken by Aditya's declaration of love. Arshad can see it. Its odd he can fathom there is great connection between Adi and Zoya , still he dares to still go ahead and marry Zoya now that she herself wants him too? Perhaps Arshad , wants to believe that going by how Zoya seems now. Adi's love appears only one sided? As Zoya does not love him?? Does Arshad love Zoya himself? Strange.. as he's only just met her.. or its now going to be a matter of fighting between him and Adi for Zoya s hand. If that is the case . Then I don't blame Arshad for assuming he stands a good chance ,what with Zoya visiting him, and offloading with him , just like she would do so with a friend!
Zoya goes back on her beliefs about Adi's transparency.. now before Arshad out of hurt.. she calls him fake! Zoya is badly grazed, or she is denying something? Tears before him, no wonder Arshad is swept away.. who wouldn't? The girl is willing. So how can he not offer her life long support? Making it worthwhile. After all they both have their families backing.Now Zoya too gives her consent.. so its good bye Aditya! Too bad Arshad has one essential set back. Arshad does not know Zoya as well as Aditya knows her! So beware the poor third person who gets involved between Aditya and Zoya their bond is an enigma. Which only these two set and unpick!
Thank heavens for the brotherly support. Otherwise where would Adi left off steam. Arjun finds it painful to see his brother suffer on account of that one ill-fated hoax call that has pulled Adi's world asunder. Arjun advises to leave Zoya alone for the minute.. at the same time not give up on her either. Adi wonders if Arjun has an inkling who could have made that phone call? Arjun warns him really it could be anyone. But I suspect both know there is some foul play around this contentious hoax prank! Adi is worried sick about Zoya's reaction towards his love. his fear is that the girl is very likely to take a knee jerk decision, for which she is bound too suffer! When its too late! This is how well he knows her, so well..
Noor is ok about the hoax call, people do it all the time. Zoya retorts about serious implications. But is shocked to learn that even Noor was aware it was made. Noor reasons with her that the idea was for Aditya to confess his love for Zoya not to take Arshad's life! But Zoya gets more infuriated! She only sees that once again she has been taken for a ride! Her trust betrayed by Yash in love! and now Aditya betrays her trust in their friendship! Zoya preaches marriage, love, friendship is hollow without the strong foundation of trust! yet Noor points out the problem Zoya suffers from, marrying Arshad to spite Aditya! Noor reminds her Adi knows her like the palm of his hand than why is she taking such a hasty step! Zoya evades the issue! orders Noor that she d rather not have Noor letting either Arjun or Aditya in on about her decision to get engaged. But Noor is right , Zoya is hell bent to show Adi that he can profess his love! she takes it as betrayal of her trust! and so she will marry Arshad and he can't stop her!
Waseem is over the moon about how as if by magic things fall into place. He gifts Zoya a necklace! A doting father puts an expensive pressure noose around his daughters neck! Zoya smiles meekly and acts and says the right things expected from of an obedient daughter! Honouring the boundaries of all expected norms! His noose she calls, elders blessings!
But a mother knows about her child's true happiness.. Roshana sees through that Zoya is being pushed into this alliance.. Zoya's spirit suffocates slowly.. she cries, before she gave in to her heart and Yash kicked her in the teeth! This time she will go along with the dictates of her mind! Roshana still advises Zoya to spare the haste! If nothing else works than seek divine guidance.. for the right direction.. suggests Zoya close her eyes and think about all important people in her life.. for Zoya, her father, his wishes matter to her; Noor her darling sister and then Aditya ?? startled Zoya opens her eyes! she didn't think about Arshad but Aditya .. well she can be sure she may get ammi's blessings but not abbu's! so whether in dreams; or in reality or in prayers! She best hide Aditya within herself whose to know?? Not even herself must know... ooohhh Zoya what has become of you? Get a grip on yourself, while you can! Dear all thanks for bearing up with my snails pace.. just had to get this bit of my chest..and I daresay, what a pleasure it is to see, Jenny and Harshad how in role. They make us cry and smile.. memorable role playing.. bringing Zoya and Adi alive before us. I am savouring the episodes.. some did shock me and made me say cut the rigmarole cv's and get on with the love saga.. only seeing Zoya her resistance, density, denial ,fear does make sense to me.. it will be hard for her to share her life with a man... not after the bubble she lived in and then found out it was just a bubble in which she lived with some fake being.. reality was hard to face.. what if she ends up living in a frail bubble again?? that is what eats Adi up... Sigh!
