Applause Entertainment, is currently making
a biopic on IPS officer Navniet Sekera.
Tagged as the real life Singham, the man is a
quite popular in the northern belt of the
country, especially Uttar Pradesh. The project
is a web-series helmed by Applause
entertainment and is in the making for quite
some time now. However, the makers were
not able to find an apt face to play Sekera on
screen. BollywoodLife has this exclusive
information that the makers' hunt for the
actor has finally come to an end. According
to a reliable source, TV s popular actor Mohit
Raina has been finalised to play the real life
Singham on screen.
Raina became TV s star after playing the
titular role in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev.
However, his last show 21 Sarfarosh: Battle
of Saragarhi validated the powerhouse of
talent that he is. The actor was highly
appreciated for his portrayal of Havildar
Ishar Singh in the historical series. Keeping
his acting flair in mind, the makers of the
biopic were convinced that no one else
could pull of Sekera s character better than
Raina. A little birdie close to the show
reveals that Raina has been finalised and the
makers are quite excited to work with him.
The other cast members of the project
would be finalised soon.

For those who are not much aware, Navniet
Sekera is an UP based IPS officer. Also
known as real life Singham, he is the man
behind the eradication of gangsters and
mafia in Uttar Pradesh. With almost 60
executions to his credits, he is known as the
execution specialists of the state. When BL
contacted Mohit, he replied, It is too early to
talk right now, so I won t be able to say
anything.
This will be Raina s second biopic after the
Discovery Jeet s show as he makes his
digital debut. With the kind of laurels that
Sekera carries with his name, it is indeed
going to be a character of lifetime for the
very talented Raina. Soon the actor would
also be seen on the big screens.
