WHO LOVES TO EAT?well, I do and I love to eat a lot! I love eating soo much... from sweet to saulty... from momos to mughlai... from naan to biriyani and from aloo bhaja daal bhaat to ponchobyanjan... I love to eat a lot and koi recipe parhke hi bhookh lag jaati hai! But I am not that much fond of cooking! I mean I love cooking things I love to eat, but nothing more than that! And my mom too! Even though she cooks fab, but doesn't enjoy cooking! Well, there are a lot of girls and mothers and ladies around who really don't like cooking! Even if they love eating! But the worst thing about our society is it is kind of must for a girl to know how to cook! When it comes to marriage proposals in our patriarchal society, it's more important whether she can cook than whether she had been to INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION! I really felt proud when I heard that my friend told the LADKE WALE openly that she can't cook and she doesn't even like cooking! Yes! For us, modern women, why is it necessary to know how to cook! Why? It shouldn't be! Both spouses are working and earning money, cooking cannot be must for woman only! then I see modern men! Real modern men! I see them helping their wives for the household chores and cooking too! I haven't seen one who takes the whole responsibility of cooking though! But they are definitely evolving! Like Kunal of our show! And it is modern and we love that! A family where a man can cook, enjoyes cooking and a woman, who is not forced to cook or doesn't matter whether she can cook!

But what about those women, who love cooking? Breaking, years old traditions of patriarchal society and showing men , that we are not obliged to abide by your sexist social norms! But what about her who loves cooking for the love of cooking and nothing else? The society has not forced it on her... she just loves it! I am not talking about those who will go on and become chefs or take part in a cooking competetions! But love cooking! Does this love for cooking put them in any lower footing than those who don't love it in the race of modernity and independence?

There are many girls out there who don't like cooking and also those who like cooking! Both are beautiful... both are unique and both are special... they all have fabulous skills... and when these women realize that they have the right to choose and start acting upon it... they all become modern and independent...

Just sharing my pov, would love to learn about everyone else's views too...

Mujhe bhi cooking pasand hai par time itna nahi milta to mere husband aur me har Sunday dinner ek sath banate hai, unki cooking skills mujhse kahi behtar hai, mujhe samaj me nahi ata ki jab khana sab khate hai to cooking kyo sirf girls ka kaam hai aur waise bhi kaha jata hai ki best cook in the world are men, to ye mindset to meri samajh se pare hai.

Ek news ayi thi kuch din pahle ki ek husband ne uski wife ko divorce de diya kyonki usne chapati jala di jab aisa dekhne ko milta hai to bahut ajeeb lagta hai.

Jaha tak show ka sawal hai ye show modern family me based hai fir bhi Kunal, Mauli ko chhodke aakhir ek aisi hi girl ke liye attract hua jo cool kar sakti hai, jo feminine hai, to waha par ye show bhi kafi galat hai, par kyonki sirf ek show hai to itna fark nahi padta jab real life me bhi log yahi karte hai

i dont think it is being shown that Kunal is getting attracted to Nandu because of her cooking skills!! and if the makers show this, then they are SEXIST and wrong! but itne saare episodes mein aisa kahi bhi nehi dikha( as far as i remember)!

actually I am gonna add something here! The thought that a girl is only suitable and likable if she can cook and is feminine, is SEXIST! But my point is can we pull a girl down calling her less modern because she loves cooking! Edited by moumita.madhuk - 5 years ago

I love experimental cooking and I do that too whenever I have time...I never into cooking much but I know how to cook and have a special interest in cooking related shows...I feel like evey job cooking is very important too...We earn to live and most of us eat bcs we love to eat and for living a healthy life we need food...I thing speaking low about people who take cooking as profession or cook for us daily is just plan stupid nothing else...You eat food bcs someone made it or u have to live depending on fruits which u can consume raw...i feel every job should be respected doesn't matter cooking or anything else...nice post mou

@bold there was not a single scene where they shown kunal fall for nandini bcs she cook well..they appreciate her bcs she deserve it but kunal or his family never ignored mauli bcs she can't cook...We need to change this mentality first just bcs nandini can cook and mauli can't assuming reason behind falling in love with nandini is cooking is completely wrong...this is a old mentality and we are also continuing to think same way...if we want change we need to first change our way of thinking they only we able to bring change

Prev I thought I will not into cooking much but now yes I love cooking and enjoy too ..and if I manage to make any recipe well than I feel very happy and enjoy serving others and if they appreciate ..that gives much satisfaction..though I am not a great cook ..its just that I don't hate to cook or like I don't want to make this..😳

and I am big foodie too 😉but of my special selected dishes ..esp dishes made of Potato ..😆

but I also think that man-women should both take part in cooking activities and infact all activities of household..

cooking should only not to be restricted to women only ..infact man are great cooks ..most of chefs are male in restaurants ..hotels ..so when they can cook there why can't in home ?and help their wives ..

now things are changing and many men does that too ..

masumiyat and femininity are not related and 2ndly if Nandini has been shown a girl who grew up and stayed by abiding by norms of patriarchal society and it is her choice to wear this kind of cloths right?and being uncomfortable in short dresses is also her own?! N impress hone mein aur attract hone mein kaafi fark hota hai! About that bangle scene n tacky symbolism, there have been many posts in past, speaking against it!

You have a no of valid points against some sexism being shown in the show but they are completely off my topic! So, I think you should rather make a new post about it!
