Casting Couch provides livelihood: Saroj Khan - Page 3

what shes saying is if the girl is not interested, nothing of that sort would happen.. and she has a point.
though not supporting casting couch or taking advantage of a girl,  its always a girls preference to accept the offer or not.

But what do the person do, if THIS is the only way to get work ??

Like if you go to government organizations to get work done, then bribe is the only way... ITs not like we love to give bribe, but when there is no way forward, then what do the person do ??

for e.g few years back, we sought to get an individual water connection, that time we get to know that the only way is to hire a plumber, give him money around 30-40 thousands rupees, so he can bribe all the higher authorities and get the permission. On asking around for a legal way, we got to know that the legal route is never used and people who use, wait for their approvals for at least 1-2 years.

Same way when Producers, casting agents dont leave any other way, then what wud the actresses do ??

disclaimer : Not approving casting couch or saroj khan's statement. Just curiously wondering how people in power dont give any other way out.

With today's age and time, one can always record and use it against the party. Use social media for it as well.

Like saroj said talented people usually don't have to go through sucha route. But the hypocrisy about this whole situation is that even if u aren't talented u are able to sleep around and get the role. So very few get it through merit.

For a lot of strugglers there is prostitution involved also not just casting couch and many of them are super talented and just waiting for a break. Some of them are trying to barely keep their head above the water and survive in Mumbai for a few more months. Few travel all over India with same day flights or even go for long term courtesan and travel to Dubai or Thailand. This is a huge syndicate and have some of the big wigs involved. The cops or government can't touch them. The going rate for strugglers and models is 15000 and TV actors and movie strugglers are anything above 25000 for a short term. Then there are high profile providers who have a lot of well known celebrities who are charging upwards of 1 lac that requires advanced screening of all their clientale. Edited by TheBoss - 5 years ago

but that is the problem naa... since the powerful people are the ones making demand, how much would a sting operation help ? There were sting operations done against Shakti Kapoor and one tv actor...but what has happened to them...nothing...neither were they put them the bar nor steps taken against it happening ?

Only the person who does the sting operation will forever quit her/his chance to work in an industry. And I doubt if anyone wud be that magnanimous to take such a step to clean the industry for others.

BW operates totally differently. Priety stood up to Ness, no one supported her, even close friends didn't speak up for her. In HW now just an accusation is enough to end your career. I expect it to be a long long while before that trend continues in BW.
If you are an A list celebrity you are untouchable in India.

Looking at Sri Reddy's case, quite true about the exposing which can backfire. Nobody is really taking things seriously. Most have resigned to the fact that the industry is such

Cleaning it is out of the picture cos when there is a demand there will forever be supply. I guess going through legit sources for work is also very key. Cos they don't tend to do such things. But its true that the road to success is tougher with such people around.

Reality yeh hai that People who enter Showbiz are not innocent and know wat they r getting into. Just look at Bigg Boss and the levels to which women/men like Punit/Bandhgi stoop just for publicity n money.

There r plenty of men/women who knock on the doors of Directors/Producers and say "Main Kuch bhi karne ke liye tayyar hun, please take me instead of the talented person u chose".Why? Bcoz if they hv to come via auditions, they may not get the role bcoz they lack the looks/acting ability and more important, it is the longer route. They may not get the Leading role immediately. But, Wooing n Pataoing bigwigs makes it very easy for them.

Hence, this menace will never end as there are many untalented persons who want it to exist so that they can get roles as they may never make it via auditions.

Casting couch itself must hv started bcoz of these desperate men/women readily offering themselves to directors/producers to choose them over other competent persons. Soon, some people made it a norm to expect.

In all this, truly talented n hardworking persons miss out. They r the victims. Not those like Sri Reddy who first take part in the mess and then cry foul bcoz they didnot get what they wanted.

When there r people who r readily supplying, why will the demand stop? Only when everybody says No can it end. But, greedy n short cut method se bahut log aana chahte hai. Sex is not such a big deal for some wannabes. Aise log aage bad jaate hai. While people like Vidya hv to toil for years in 100 auditions/ads if they want to come thru the honest route.

Nice explanation. Now if someone opens their mouth, they can be told that they were not talented enough which is why they had to resort to this. And despite being talentless, people were mahan enough to provide them with livelihood as quid pro quo in return of the sexual favours ðŸ¤ª
