Which is better? Korean or Japanese grill?

I met my girlfriend through an Asian singles tour in China and she wants the both of us to go to a restaurant that serves unlimited meat and side dishes. I suggested that we should go to a Korean one since it's all the rage today. I keep seeing posts about samgyupsal and grilled meat with cheese but my gf insists we should try Japanese. She says that the meat tastes better and the side dishes they serve is her favorite. We both haven't tried the korean one but she insists I should try the Japanese. I decided to research which restaurant is better and compromise later.
