Sanjay Dutt made his comeback with Omung
Kumar's Bhoomi in September. Amidst huge
hype, the movie failed to impress both the
critics and the audience. Now, the buzz is
that Dutt has opted out of Kumar's next
titled The Good Maharaja.
A leading daily quoted a source saying that
the actor is not going to be a part of the
project.
On the work front, Sanjay is currently busy
shooting for Tigmanshu Dhulia's film Saheb
Biwi Aur Gangster 3. Thereafter, the actor
will be focusing on his home production
which will be a remake of a Malayalam film
Prasthanam. The movie is expected to go on
floors next March.
Apart from that Sanjay also has Sadak 2 in
his kitty. Speaking about it, Mukesh Bhatt
earlier said, "Sadak is the story of the same
man, but 25 years later. The reason I think
this should've been his comeback film is that
Sadak was a cult film and Sanjay became a
superstar after this film. The script is almost
ready and we plan to roll by end of this year
or early next year.
Pooja Bhatt also spoke about Sadak 2 and
said, We are making 'Sadak 2' in which we
are showing Sanjay Dutt in his true and
present time (Sanjay Dutt is Drug Abuse
Survivor) so we are dealing with the issue of
depression in that film but we are making a
commercial film.
"We have to make our point and we chose
film as our medium because when you
choose a mainstream format then your
message goes deeper and wider," she
added.
Mahesh Bhatt directed "Sadak", that was
released in 1991, starred Sanjay Dutt playing
the character of a young man in love with a
sex worker (played by Pooja Bhatt) and
fights against all odds to be with her.
