Clear as glass
He wore his glasses and lay back in bed stared at the ceiling, his evenings were no longer fun, he was staying out longer, talking more and smiling more and yet nothing felt good.
He loved Mallika so he thought he knew how that felt like. He was sure this was not a similar feeling.
How could it be?
He felt like a train wreck
Being love was supposed to be uplifting like butterflies and birds
Not make you feel like someone used a monster vacuum and emptied it and
used an industrial fan and dried out all your inside. Empty and bereft
He was sure he didnt feel like this two weeks ago
He brought his arm up to shield his eyes from sunshine
It was a beautiful morning
He heard traffic outside, he had to get up to go into work
Cuisine Craft was taking on two new fast food franchise licensing opps, Pret a Manger and Yo Sushi like places
The foriegn partners were in town and he had meetings all day trying to figure out how to make it all happen
Cuisine Craft wasnt making money consistently and Ashvin hoped adding more licenses to world famous brands would mitigate the risk
He hadnt read the 5000 pages of Mkt Research reports they had paid for and bought about sushi consumption in India and Sri Lanka
He was acutely misinformed and uneducated for today's meetings
He wondered how Trisha could read all day
He took his glasses off and set it on the bedside table sitting up rubbing his eyes vigorously.
His glasses were missing, he didnt know where he put them
He wandered the house frantic
His second pair was broken and he didnt want to wear contacts first thing in the morning, he loved to rub his eyes
She was making her coffee
"Trisha have you seen my glasses?"
She turned groggily
"Umm.. no.. you lost them?" she asked shocked
He stretched and nodded
His tee shirt straining across his "not bad-pretty good" chest
She stared for a second and turned towards her stove
"I havent seen it here" she mumbled
"I hate wearing contacts early morning" he mumbled rubbing his eyes sitting grumpily on the tall breakfast stool
"And you cant see" she whispered mischievously
"Excuse me?" he was shocked she wud say that
"I said I wear them just before I leave home and remove them as soon as I come home. I hate contacts" she said
"Or when you get caught" he muttered
She lowered her gaze self consciously
"I didnt remove them because I didnt want you to see me in glasses" she said
"Then why did you as you got off the bus?" he was amused
"You had not seen me with glasses so"
"You shouldnt promote the impression that you might be nerdy and intellectual?" he said softly
"I am nerdy" she said primly
He got off his stool and approached her
"ashwinnn" she warned holding the mug close to her.
"I am just going to try your glasses on" he said
She held on to her glasses tight
"No.. not mine" she moaned
"Boy you are selfish!!" he muttered circling her like she was a rare treat and he was a hungry kid
"Look for your glasses" she warned
"I looked" he shrugged carelessly she backed off starting to sprint to wards her room
He followed easily
She went out to the balcony and began closing the door he pulled harder and she let go
"I am not giving you my glasses!!!" she hissed laughing uncontrollably
He took her coffee mug effortlessly and sipped, they scoped each other out, he by the doorway her trapped in the balcony
"I just need them to see so I can look for mine" he came up with a new story
"You are not BLIND" "Glasses are big" she said in short sentences "You need to look"
He reached and grabbed hers smoothly
"Ashwinnn" she yelled
He walked back into the room She ran up in front and tried to take them back he waved them over his head
"Give it back"
"I dont think I can see you" he set her mug down on her night stand, and grabbed her by her waist
The hand that held her glasses bent behind his body, he made no attempt to disguise his interest in her
"Where did you last see it?" she asked primly squirming
"Well if I knew that I wouldnt be asking you would I?"
"You were wearing it yesterday, when you were chatting with your Mom" she reminded
He looked at her intensely
"I was?"
"Yeah, you told her something about meeting someone at lunch" she said
He still held her in his arms, they were chatting like a couple
"Then you made your chai, and spilled all over" she rolled her eyes
"THIS with my glasses ON" you said and you laughed" she narrated
"You heard that?"
She blushed
I was leaving the kitchen" she said foggily as she felt his arousal.
"Trish" he whispered as he felt her body react to the stirring of his
She dissolved into a diheveled mess, as she was sucked into the creamy delight of coffee on his tongue, his raspy chin audible
The kissed feverishly, her hand bunching up his old tee
Ashw" she moaned resting her forehead on his
"Find my glasses!! Trish" he ordered.
She wrapped her arms around him to hold on
He kissed her again... soft erotic strokes creating small explosions inside her, obliterating any voice of caution inside her.
They tasted each other hungrily, he allowed her to explore his face.
When they hugged each other afterwards
"It might be in the kitchen drawer when you wiped the mess on the counter you left it there?" she sighed
He was reluctant to let her go that morning
She handed it to him when she went in to reheat her coffee
"Thanks" he nodded wearing them as he reached for the newspaper stretching out on the sofa...
Ashvin walked to the living room and plonked himself on the couch... and dragged the newspaper with indifference, wiped his glasses off on his tee and wore them and began to read
