Roommate romcom
Prasad had the day off the next day, she didnt see Ashvin much after breakfast that prior day. He seemed to like the breakfast, he didnt compliment or critique just thanked her politely.
As always...
she realized when she was eating that she hadnt added any salt to the omelette.
She made peace with herself declaring she was by no means a good cook.
He must have gone out from work she didnt see him that night
She spent the evening calling friends to track the Jayadev spying project and Rao Anna to ask if he made any headway with Appa
Both turned out to be duds
She told her friends the man she married wears glasses in the morning
Now they wanted to see his picture more eagerly
"I cannot take his picture" she said firmly
She told him the name of the company the website did not contain any photos of him just licensing images of the various restaurants and juice bars they sold.
"We cannot imagine our friend would do such a thing" she was told
"I did it for my father as days go by I realize it was a fool's quest"
"Then go back" they repeated
"And watch my father bankrupt himself?"
"You cannot force him to transform his business if he doesnt want to. He is an adult"
"I cannot but I also cannot watch him be stripped of everything he has"
"Banks usually allow extra time"
"We are already on extra time Niru"
"You should go to the bank and try and sort it out"
"I went to Hyderabad. They speak in languages and terms unknown to me. Jayadev couldnt go because he was teaching an evening class at the CA coaching center"
"And look what happened to your life. You went to Bangalore from there and this glass wearing man snagged you" Lissie giggled
"Its not so romantic or fun. I approved of the scheme I was presented with"
"Do u plan to wait all your life for Jayadev?"
"I dont think about it"
Prasad rang her door bell at 6 and asked her if she would go to dinner
He promised he would drive with his windows down so she doesnt think she is being abducted
She laughed
"A cat lover cannot be a bad person" she said all knowingly
"You place too much faith" he mumbled sheepishly
He was balding with big eyes, spoke quickly but less
"I can go if I can come back in one hour or so" she stated
"Sure"
"I am waiting for a online journal's permission. I applied in the afternoon. Its not a local university. Its University of Waterloo or something I want to hear back"
"You are so tenacious" he said
she nodded shyly
He took her to a Spanish Restaurant called Chinita
she had never eaten Spanish before
He asked her about Ullal and told her about his life upbringing and education
He was pleasant and good company
"there are so many good places to eat in Bangalore. We should try all of them" he suggested
She did not answer
"Which one do you want to try next"
"Depends on how many times I watch MJ" she smiled
"You can watch him everyday and I can thank you every weekend"
she smiled politely
When he brought her back she went up to her room
A couple hours later or 1: 48 minutes to be precise
Ashvin showed up at her door as she was bent over her article on the balcony
"Did you go out to eat with Prasad?" he asked
The papers slid off her thigh
She was wearing a orange ikat skirt and a black eyelet blouse.
She nodded surprised
"How did you know?" she asked shocked but smiling
"He told me" Ashvin said
"Oh" "I have been taking care of his cat no.. so" she explained
"And yes, he did tell me" he said
"I ate Spanish food for the first time" she said gently
"I am not sure" he swallowed and looked away at the balcony at the traffic... and turned inside... "Trisha does he know about us?" he asked
She panicked
"No... I never said ANYTHING' she whispered confidently lowering her voice
"Oh?" he was more perturbed now
"I didnt know if anybody else should know" she lowered her gaze in shame
"No wonder he tells me he wants to date my "room mate" 😛he said distressed
Ashvin couldnt believe the outrage in his voice
He swallowed painfully in shame
He had no escape
She looked baffled
"Ashwinn!" she said softly unsure of what blunder she committed😆
"dont say my name please" 😳he begged agonized
Causing her to be more dismayed
