Barkha Bisht Sengupta & Viraf Pheroz Patel:
Barkha Bisht Sengupta and Viraf Pheroz Patel have been part of Indian Television since long. They have worked in several shows and played various characters with full justice. While Barkha had recently worked in Sony TV show Hanuman, Viraf was seen as a host in Hunarbaaz season 2. Right now, both of them have joined the cast of Mahesh Bhatt's show Naamkarann on Star Plus.
As Ashish & Asha
The two play characters of Asha and Ashish Mehra respectively in Star Plus show Naamkarann. Their love story is slightly different than anyone else. Ashish fell in love with Asha as soon as he saw her for the first time in Kashmir. Being a film director, he offered her a lead role in his movie and eventually Asha also fell in love with him. They had to keep their relationship under the wraps for 11 years as they knew Ashish's mother would not accept it. They have a daughter Avni and they are expecting another child together.
Barkha Bisht Sengupta is an Indian television actress. She is married to co-star Indraneil Sengupta. She started her career on television with a show called Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, aired on MTV India. This was followed by a show on Star Plus called Pyaar ke do naam...Ek Radha Ek Shyaam on Star Plus, where she played the lead roles of Shyama, Raadha and Radhika.
As Asha:
Barkha is back on Star Plus after a long time with show Naamkarann. She is playing character of Ayesha, a Muslim girl who fell in love with Ashish, a Hindu film director. Ashish casted her as lead in his movie which rose her to fame over night but she gave all up for her love and changed her identity to Asha so no one might know her being a Muslim. Asha is a mother and a lover but not a wife. She has been in an 11 year long relationship with Ashish and has a daughter Avni, expecting another child to join the family alongside. Asha wants Ashish to marry her one day.
Viraf Patelis a model and television actor. He started his acting career in one of India's first & most successful television mini series, Mahi Way and another show Kismat as lead, Aditya Raj Merchant. Viraf portrayed the role of a business man 'Shreshth' in the BBC telefilm 'Tere Meri Love Stories' opposite Shilpa Anand. Recently, he was seen in the role of Mrityunjay Shekhawat in the life ok drama Ek Boondh Ishq. The show ended on October 2014.
As Ashish:
Viraf is playing Ashish Mehra in Star Plus show Naamkarann. Ashish is a film director who fell in love with a Muslim girl Ayesha but could not marry her due to hatred of his mother for Muslims. He could not go against his mother nor could he leave Ayesha who changed her identity to Asha for him. He has hidden his relationship from his mother since 11 years. Ashish has a daughter from Asha and expecting another little one to join the family.
The storyline can be discussed in general. However, primary discussion should be about Asha and Ashish or Barkha and Viraf.
