Please add a third option.

Both are equally bad - from a emotional perspective

Ashish - does NOT provide all of their needs.  His wife Asha is afraid to meet her neighbours eye-to-eye and hides behind closed windows and doors when he is around.  Ashish is not better - he is afraid to acknowledge them as family - so parks his car far away, bribes the parking attendant to keep his mouth shut about his presence, and walks a distance to visit with them.  Avni and Asha have their own emotional, mental, and societal problems because he is does not want to meet their needs!

I agree. Equally both are bad. Asha father was irresponsible. Just married and didnt bother to take any responsibilities that come with a marriage.
And Ashish neither gave relationship name nor responsibilities. Responsibities doesnt mean just home and money. It means more than that. The emotional dependency, togetherness, and all others.

their needs means only food and house and other expenses that's what said ...if he had given all the other things like you said we shouldn't be discussing here about Ashish ..he is bad no doubt ..

If its only only about food and home as needs. Then Asha parents were like divorced couple without alimony for the wife. Meaning lived together as much as possible then they depart to lead their own lives as per they capacity.

And Asha and Ashish- a dependency live in relationship sort of. Meaning live in relationship, couple are independent of their lives, earnings etc. but here, Asha is dependent and they are not open to society.
