There is no doubt that Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is one of the toughest reality shows on TV. The celebrities have to really train hard to please judges on many counts and every little detail matters. This year, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has surprised us with its eliminations. We saw the double ouster of Siddhant Gupta and Helly Shah this week. The former had recreated the iconic jodi of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol while Helly became Sridevi with her choreographer, Jai Kumar Nair as Jeetendra.
We informed you that Surveen Chawla along with Naagin star Arjun Bijlani will be out of the competition in the coming week. It is again a double elimination before the kid contestants come over. A little birdie tells us that judge Karan Johar was pretty upset over Surveen's elimination on the show. The actress wowed us with some truly fabulous performances on the show, and it seems he felt she just did not deserve to go. Though he did not say or complain anything, he looks visibly upset. "His initial reaction was one of shock," says a source from the set. It seems Nora Fatehi beat her to clinch the fifth and last spot from the initial lot of contestants. "Everyone likes Nora but even the others felt that Surveen was better on the given day. And she fits the bill of a non-dancer becoming a dancer unlike Nora who was a professional belly-dancer. So, they were sad for Surveen," the source adds.
We saw what a brilliant performance Surveen gave on Kyon, the lilting song from Barfi. She essayed the role of the autistic Jhilmil played by Priyanka Chopra in the film. Her choreographer, Sanam Johar was Ranbir Kapoor. In fact, her act was so good that Govinda said it brought tears to his eyes.
We are sure that Surveen must have been really good for KJo to feel so strongly for the actress. It seems her stint on TV is plain unlucky. She bagged the role of Maya in 24 season 2 but her fans were unhappy as she had little to do acting-wise on the show.
